  1. Honestly you could just use a 4/0 superline hook and that would be enough weight. But if you insist on adding weight for other reasons then you should look into nail weights.
  2. Really? Wow it sounds like a temperature thing, because I assume both bottles were sealed and closed the same way? Perhaps the extreme changes in temperature did it. I also got a two 1oz bottle set for 18.99 shipped, and I would really prefer if neither of them turned into useless gunk, lol.
  3. Well I received my new bottles of mend-it yesterday, and they appear to seal very well but time will tell. I have heard of people using clear pvc glue instead but I wonder does it truly do the same thing as mend-it?
  4. I just ordered two bottles today rboat. I will let you guys know if the bottle seems to seal better. I'm also concerned about it getting all gummy and useless.
  5. All you guys who love those spro frogs should look into this. http://www.***.com/Fish_Arrow_Cover_Jack_/descpage-FACJ.html Unfortunately this particular vendor only has one color at the moment, but these are my favorite hollow bodied frog by far. Easier to walk then the spro, and it comes with a blade attachment as well as the skirt. The hook-sets are also much better than the spro because the bait can rotate all the way away from the hookpoints when you set it. The thing just flat out produces for me almost everywhere I fish it.
  6. Personally I'm in love with this thing. http://www.***.com/Fish_Arrow_Cover_Jack_/descpage-FACJ.html Its fish catching abilities are phenomenal. Much better than the vaunted Spro frog IMO.
  7. Ditto. Right down to the "Keep the fish from jumping" comment! lol Nice job Chaki
  8. There is only one skirt, but you'll understand why when you see the way it moves on the water. You change out the blade by unclipping a little hinged split ring underneath the bait. It is incredibly well built. Another neat feature is that when you set the hook with it the entire bait will rotate out of the way of the double hooks giving you sweet sweet penetration. lol
  9. The blade is only one of two attachments you get with the cover jack. You can see the skirt in the picture right below it. I almost always fish it with the skirt. The action is awesome and you can fish it anywhere open water or over vegetation, I've caught fish both ways. And YES you can make a wonderful wake with it because its so easy to control.
  10. i want to ask you , since you got them on EBAY , did you also see the 52st toadsters and did you get them , they looked nice . btw , i love frog fishing , if you can tell me of other not-so-well-known frog to use id appreciate it greatly . can't find nothing better than the CANYON PLASTICS 4.5'' frogs pictured below ..... Yea I wouldn't buy those bog frogs again personally. You like frogs? My new favorite topwater is the fish arrow cover jack. Its built even better than a spro frog, is easier to walk, and has better hookups. I highly recommend it. http://www.***.com/descpageSWMFISHARRHDTLOBINA-FACJ.html#
  11. Funny seeing that thing here. I actually bought a couple of these for real cheap on ebay. I haven't fished them yet. But I can tell you that its kind of a solid piece of rubber an that it wont float. Also you'll need a massive hook to rig this thing like a gammy G Mag. I was thinking I'd eventually throw this thing over some lily pads and drag it over some open water pockets between them, but I'd love to hear what you're planning on doing with them! lol
  12. I'm gonna say around 24 lbs then it might have to die
  13. Ha that is pretty funny I guess these guys have an affinity for St Croix and super flukes lol.
  14. Heres a chunky chain pickerel I caught the other day while bass fishing.
  15. 1. WAY stronger than mono 2. Definitely stealthier than mono 3. More abrasion resistance than mono 4. Significantly less memory and stretch That's a pretty big difference.
  16. Probably eventually but you can get them at Tackle Warehouse right now. Anyone field test these things yet?
  17. It's almost like he picked those dates and topwater on purpose........lol
  18. They stink and are kind of expensive but yeah I've caught some nice bass on them.
  19. Sweet I'm glad they're coming out soon. What do you guys think about using the spro shad in waters that don't have shad? Something tells me that the swimming action will be so sweet that it won't matter, but maybe I should get a tru tungsten?
  20. Wait a minute you guys use these for bass too?
  21. Haha thats hilarious. I guess he didn't want that thing jammed in his face anymore and decided to give it back lol.
  22. You did that in CT? Wow.
  23. Sweet beavers are fantastic. One of the most copied baits out there right now and for good reason, they work. My best success has come fishing it slowly on the bottom with a bullet weight. Smallmouth bass just tear these things up. Largemouth love them too, actually. They imitate crawfish, which means that they should be used in lakes where crawfish live. Funny thing is, I've used them in ponds where crayfish definitely do not live and the largemouth don't seem to mind eating them up either.
  24. Told ya ebay wuz cool
