  1. What's next guys fishing linez made of vinez? ;D
  2. Sadly, by October bass fishing will not be as good up here. But I still can't wait to throw these anyway. Very innovative action Big-O.
  3. I'm sorry if I missed something but when and where can I get these.
  4. Well I guess its cool if you're eating them. I didn't know if you were just some crazy guy who goes around killing bass lol. Still, put the big one back and let her grow!
  5. There is one thing I can add to the already excellent advice you've been getting. Gammy hooks are fine and dandy and I'm sure we've all caught tons of fish on them, however since I switched to higher quality hooks I am definitely getting a better hookup ratio. The hooks I am using are daichii x point in 4/0 OR Owner cutting point same size. These hooks fly right through the bass's face! You'll like them.
  6. Hey man no offense but that fish is not 8 lbs unless it has 4.5 lbs of lead in its belly lol. Nice nonetheless.
  7. Man I hope he's at least going to eat them if he killed them. People who kill fish for no reason just strike the wrong chord with me. That being said I have nothing against this guy its jmo...
  8. I'd say 7ft would be your best "all around" size and in your price range fenwick is probably among the best choices. Let me know if you raise your limit... lol
  9. I may just be ready to jump! Thank you for the "budget" good setup suggestion. lol it cost 3-400$, but that's right around what I wanted to spend anyway. I may have to reconsider my rod choice (st croix LE) because it seems like you guys highly recommend g loomis.
  10. Dear God... You guys are right I am going to spend all of my money, and I don't think I can stop myself! ;D
  11. Haha. Its okay I've got some money to spend. Seriously, thanks for the pointers guys.
  12. If your going to that price range a glx is within your reach a mbr844 glx and a steez would be sahhweeet Oh man you guys are killin me lol. Do yall think that glx + steez would be sweeter?
  13. Google Earth? I've heard thats a great way to find ponds I'll have to try it. How'd you get your boat into this unnamed pond that you had to find with satellite photographs? lol Anyways nice job, it takes some work to catch bass like that in CT P.S. I'm going to the Quabbin for the first time this coming weekend... any pointers
  14. Thanks a lot guys. I will have to consider that legend elite with a Daiwa or shimano reel.
  15. Nice fish! I don't suppose you'd tell me where in CT that is...
  16. Those shimano reels are nice. Would a 7ft MHF baitcaster be good to throw small swimbaits like matts bluegill and baby bass?
  17. I must say I didn't expect such a cool picture from the title. Nice job!
  18. Hi everyone who reads this. I bought myself a St. Croix Legend Tournament spinning rod (7ft) and paired it with a pflueger supreme. The setup, to me simply rocks and I cant see myself ever fishing lower quality rods ever again. So I'm thinking I need a new baitcasting setup. Actually I mean I need a baitcasting setup, I've never bought one lol. I'm wondering if you guys can point me in the right direction for a good reel/rod pairing. I am willing to spend what I need to get something good. I'm wondering how expensive I need to go to get something as sweet as my spinning setup?
  19. x3 I thought I had this huge bass on a pretty big shiner one time. Well I tried to set the hook like it was a 6 lb bass and sent this dink for a ride! Ever see crappie fly? lol
  20. fat ikas, zoom super flukes, sweet beavers, senkos, lake fork tackle live magic shad
  21. What size/color were you using Fluke?
  22. Hey there thanks for posting this. There doesn't seem to be many CT anglers here. Another place you can try is Hall's pond in Windham county CT. There are big ones in there but again you'd need a boat to get to the good spots. Connecticut is like that. Almost all of the good places to fish now require a boat because of the drought that happened last year (or the year before?) Well anyway it ruined the water levels and changed all of the "spots"
  23. x3 lighter braid 4 frogs
  24. Thats a nice setup you've got there for froggin'. One thing I've learned from fishing frogs is that you really HAVE to wait a couple of seconds before setting the hook. I usually see the bass blow up on my frog, wait about 2-3 seconds... reel down until you feel the weight of the fish... then cross her eyes. Usually after a bass takes your frog they will open their mouths momentarily as if they were "feeling it" or repositioning it in their mouths. This is why fisherman can miss them sometimes. You'll still miss a few, but I promise you'll land more this way. Oh yeah don't forget to put some megastrike or jj's magic on it so the bass hang on longer. Good luck!
  25. Ha can he hang at 205? I'd bet good money that he could beat the so called champ at 205 forrest griffin right now.
