Broward County suggestions
Thanks! I'm not too familiar with the Broward area and for the life of me cant find a map online that shows the mile markers!! Which exit or city is that by? And if you don't mind sharing, what did you catch them on? I find canal fishing for LMB to be difficult. Usually give up on lures and end up throwing a live shiner which normally does the trick.

Broward County suggestions
Hey SoFlo anglers! Hoping you can help me out. I normally fish smaller lakes in Dade county but feel like trying something new and maybe in the process, breaking my LMB record (8.3 lbs) which I've been stuck on for over 5 years!! I've been to Wolf Lake and CB Smith but only caught small fish. I was looking at Markham Park but being that I have never been there I don't know what to expect or bring. It seems pretty big on Google Earth with lots of shoreline fishing. I also read somewhere that you are limited to 1 rod. If that's true then i'd rather go somewhere else. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! FYI ..Strictly catch and release when it comes to freshwater fishing. Tight lines

Kc Fishing Spot?
Hi everyone. I'm heading to Kansas City, MO. this June for a wedding and was wondering if anyone could recommend a place to go shore fishing. I'll be very close to a spot called Winetonka and I figure I can get away for a few hours at least one day. I would love to catch a KC bass Any info you can share would be appreciated. I can only bring one rod and a small box of lures, maybe a couple of packs of soft plastics so any lure recommendations would also be appreciated. Thanks!

Peacock bass in South Florida??
X2! You shouldnt have any problems finding peacocks in just about any canal or lake especially in the Miami area. That being said, if you have the $$ to pay for a guide and probably guarantee a catch then you might want to hit up Alan Zaremba. He's supposed to be the top peacock bass expert/guide in Florida.

Peacock Bass Tips?
I catch plenty of Peacocks here in SoFlo using a red/orange rattle trap. If you can find one, try the Pro Trap. It was deadly until I got hung up and lost it

Revo Or Curado...
Never fished a REVO but I love my little green curado

What Would You Take?
Wacky rigged trick worms in two sizes in case the fish are picky

Pet Peeves
Scumbags that need to keep every single fish they catch even if they are undersized! Then they have the nerve to ask me to give them the fish that I catch!! I tell them nope and release the fish right in front of them. Know it alls that always tell you that you wont catch fish with the lure your using even though I've caught them plenty of times with that specific lure!! Thats when I pray that I catch a fish while theyre still talking The fact that there is never a wildlife officer around when you need one

Hey SirSnookalot, I sent you a PM with more details.

Hit the window just right
Tell me about it! ;D This one little retention pond has a canal running into it. Apparently this canal runs all the way to the Biscayne Bay so not only do you see awesome freshwater fish like Peacocks, LMB, Cichlids of all types, catfish and a nasty looking eel but you also get Snook and Tarpon to top it off! So far I only caught Snook and Tarpon on livies but one of these days I'm going to go and use only lures and try my luck.

Nice fish! I love snook fishing! I went out yesterday to a small pond off the turnpike and saw a couple of decent snook and tons of peacock bass. Managed to catch this small tarpon. Had to take him out of the water because my leader was wrapped around his gill so I had my bro take a picture.

What your favorite, go 2 Peacock bass lure?
Headed over to Pro Bass Everglades and picked up a pro-rap. Tried it today and actually caught a decent Peacock on it on my first cast! While I was there, I had a long conversation with Judy and found out that she's selling the store! She said that if she doesn't sell, she will have a huge sale to get rid of inventory. She's asking $60K for the store and inventory if any one's interested. Would be great to save it. Anyway, thanks for all the recommendations. I really appreciate it!

Big ol Swimbaits
Don't feel too bad, I did the same thing with another swimbait. ;D Here's an idea I read about. Cut a slit where the gills are and glue a small piece of red pipe cleaner to it. Makes it look like gills! Then, apply some type of scent to the swimbait, toss it out and let it drop to the bottom. Every once in a while give it a twitch. Those Cali bass, especially the ones used to feeding on trout will suck it up right off the bottom! At least that's what Ive heard. ;D Good luck!

MY FIRST JIG FISH!

What your favorite, go 2 Peacock bass lure?
Thanks everyone! I'm definitely going to give these a try. I've been to the Pro Bass shop and the two ladies working there were awesome! I'm guessing one was the owner. Anyway, very cool shop if its the same one I'm thinking about. Think it was in Broward, near BPS. Might just swing by there this weekend for that Rattle Trap! ;D Hey Ernie, can you use a spinning rod with light line to cast the clouser minnow? Thanks again for the info! I love this site!!

What your favorite, go 2 Peacock bass lure?
I've noticed that the Peacock Bass seemed to have survived the cold front here in the Miami/Broward area but I cant seem to catch them. I've caught them in the past using spinner baits, jigs and topwater lures but so far this year, zero! I was wondering what the rest of you are using. Whats your go 2 lure for peacock bass? Sorry if I posted this in the wrong area but I figured Peacocks are only in So. Florida but if you have to move it to "Fishing Tackle", please do. Thanks and much appreciated!

Fluorocarbon question?
I'm going to try fluorocarbon line for the first time on my baitcaster but I have a quick question. Do I spool it direct or do I use a mono backing like you do with braid? I appreciate the help!
