I also grew up fishing with a spinning reel and I just bought my first baitcaster in LH retrieve. Just felt right

I got to the Miami BPS at 9:15 and there were 3 people waiting in line. Then one of them pulled out an ad that showed the store opening at 9:00 so he went to the manager and he let us in early. They only had 12 reels on hand and I managed to get 2 of them. 1 left hand for me and a right hand for my brother. If he doesnt come up with the cash then I'll sell or trade it. Suks because the right hand is the 7 to 1 burner. No biggie though! ;D

Me and my brother name our spots. Either according to the size of the largest fish caught like "8 lb alley" or "5 lb point" or because of a feature the spot has like "alligator pipe" or "Peacock pond" ;D

Peacock Bass

Went out today for a few hours to a tiny lake and caught my first bedding LMB She's not a beast but she did guard her bed aggressively along with a small male. The male hit first but he spit it before I could set the hook. Then, after a few casts with a watermelon/gold flake senko she hit! She weighed 3lbs. Then I hopped too another lake and caught a 2lb Peacock bass. It clobbered a chartreuse spinner bait Ended up catching a few more peacocks and LM. The 2 best are posted. Enjoy

Yeah, I was worried that these last few days might kill some peacocks and even some snook but so far I havnt heard any bad news. I've never fished the Griffin canal but I'm gonna look into it. I'm always on the lookout for new spots!
