  1. LOL..... This is one funny thread! Dude, you better get that lure! It will definetly become your lucky lure if you succeed! World Record LMB watch out

    Thats a fatty! Nice catch!!
  3. Ive snagged mullet here in Florida using a weighted treble hook/snag hook. Its pretty easy since they tend to run in huge schools and they are sort of dumb
  4. Nice! Them big females are a blast, especially if they dont cut you off or wrap you up in the pilings! It took me over 4 years of Florida living to actually catch one.
  5. Ive caught them with 3-4 inch rapalas, like the x-rap. I basically just tisk them off enough that they cant help attacking the lure. Especially when they are protecting their babies or guarding thier eggs. A heavy jig also works when they are guarding the eggs. Since they cant really blow it off the bed, they pick it up and try to carry it off and thats when I set the hook. The other So. Florida members are probably alot more experienced with Peacocks and I'm sure they will be around soon. Good luck!
  6. As far as the crankbait goes, yeah, you can tie it to the end of your line and chuck it. No need for weights, bobbers or bait. Your basically imitating a small baitfish. I dont know too much about Ohio or river fishing for that matter but I find that a plastic worm usually works. Buy a 3/0 extra wide gap hook, weighted or unweighted. Texas rig the worm to it and tie it to your line. Chuck it out and work it back slowly. Well, good luck!
  7. "I got a 5 - 5.5 lb one a couple of weeks ago that was my largest ever. I now have a scale and am waqiting for him to hit 6 so I can catch him again." LOL....thats funny dude! I guess thats one way to break your PB. I've been stuck at 5lbs for a while already. Hope to break it this weekend! Congrats on a good trip
  8. Looks like 3 to me and a healthy looking fish too! Cool
  9. Dude, people like that are an afterthough. If you let it bother you then you feed the ignorance. Keep outfishing em, and let karma take care of the rest!
  10. Thats the case with me. But now, thinking about it, its not worth the photo. I guess you guys will just have to take my word for it when I catch that 25lb this weekend ;D
  11. Welcome to the forum!
  12. I tried them out on Sunday and got some major hits! Worked them over some submerged grass/weeds and had a blast even though I wasnt able to land anything. Still not convinced they are any better than the stanley ribbit and with the ribbit you dont have to order them.
  13. Watching that baitfish get nervous and scatter is awesome! Its such a devasting hit
  14. Nice fish! Good idea giving that bear the right of way
  15. My buddy pulls a 16' flats boat with his cherokee and I'm sure its a 6 but you better off finding out through the dealer. You dont want to ruin your vehicle!
  16. Anyone ever use an Akita swimbait? I found them on e-bay and they look nice and the price is nice too. Any info would be appreciated! Thanks
  17. I'm stoked too! I have a few spots I think should produce for me. Any lure suggestions? Hey, thanks for the links jf111 & kiko13. Good info! I'd love to book a trip with Mark but times are tough But, thats the good thing about So. Florida, you dont have to go far to find good fishing. Thanks everyone
  18. Thanks for the info everyone! Definetly a nice perk of living in Florida
  19. Thanks George! I have a feeling 09 is going to be a good year for me!
  20. Anyone know when Bass and Peacock Bass spawn in the SouthEast Florida area? Someone mentioned that LMB spawn once a year and Peacocks twice a year but I dont know when. Thanks
  21. Hey, at least you know whats lurking out there
  22. It is! Only 10-15 minutes away and a bait shop right up the street. I love that its clear water because it allows me to see the fish, my lure and how they react to it. Great testing grounds. Thanks for peeping my catch everyone!
  23. International bass! Nice!!
