What is your favorite rod ...
It takes some getting used to but it is quite easy. You just have to set the tension on your reel pretty loose so you don't use as much rod to pitch. I only move the rod 1-3 feet down then up to pitch.

YUM Buzzfrog
They were pretty good, but I prefer the ribbit. For some reason I got a better hookup ratio with the ribbits.

Braid, does color matter ??????????????
I have always used moss green powerpro but I have been kicking around switching to yellow on my senko rod. I think this will help with line watching. Never tried red.

What is your favorite rod ...
For pitching it is a toss up. I have a dobyns 704 that I really like and I also have a custom built rod called a Cajun Limb that I really like. The Cajun Limb is heavy power fast action with a great tip. It has spiral guides and a full cork rear grip with no foregrip. I typically pitch 1/4oz T-Rig plastics to cypress tress and other shallow water cover. I also pitch 3/8oz jigs to similar targets. The Cajun Limbs are made in Baton Rouge and are great rods built on Falcon blanks.

Braided line on a baitcaster
Been using braid for years now and have never noticed as much as a nic in any of my guides as a result of the line. I use 15lb-50lb and they all cast fine. I just have to change the settings and I am good to go.

Spinning or Baitcasting for Senko
Casting 99% of the time. Wacky, weightless, any hook it doesn't matter I use casting.

St. Croix Mojo Rod
I had a 7ft medium mojo casting rod and I did not like. I did not like the small rear grip and I found the rod to be very tip heavy. Compared to all of my other rods it felt very unbalanced. That being said, most of my rods are a good bit more expensive then the mojo, but I think the compre is a better option at this price point. Heck you can find a used Powell in the classifieds for the price of a Mojo and I think the Powells are a lot better then the Mojos. I do not want to discourage I am just sharing my experience.

Your Favorite Worm Hook?
I am currently using the eagle claw lazer sharp wide gap worm hook in 3/0 size. I have heard mixed reviews on these and was thinking about switching to something else. I really like the size of this hook, it is a good match for most of the plastics I use. However, I don't think they are all that sharp and they certainly get dull after some use. What should I try?

Budget Tungsten
I am looking to buy some tungsten weights for punchin' and wondered if anybody knows where I can find some cheap. I normally use tru tungsten flippin' weights, but they are awfully expensive. Are there any cheaper alternatives that are of similar quality? Thanks folks.

line delima
What rod did you get? If you got a big tree trunk flippin stick I would go with a minimum of 50lb braid. Brand is all personal preference. I only fish with powerpro, but some on here can't stand it.

Ultralight baitcasting setup?
I use a 7ft light action Falcon Cenderi for inshore fishing. I pair this rod with a curado 200E7 spooled with 20lb braid. This is a great combo.

Importance of maintaining same feel?
Using different brand rods doesn't matter much to me as long as the grips are somewhat similar diameter. I like all of my reels to be the same size. I only use curado Es and citica Es so they all feel the same. This is probably more of a personal preference then anything.

Split Grip Lowrider
I guess I am somewhat concerned that that the extra weight out of the grip might make the rod more tip heavy. Probably won't be an issue, but I wanted to check with you folks. Thanks

braided line issue
Start with breaks and spool tension high so your casts are not as far. As you get more comfortable casting slowly ease up on the tension and breaks until you get good distance without backlashing. Your rod and the weight of the lure will have a lot to do with the cast also. Light lures casted with stiff rods will tend to cast the lure downward resulting in backlashes. Start with heavier lures until you feel comfortable then work on lighter stuff. Good luck!!

Split Grip Lowrider
Anybody tried one? I have been in the market for a new rod recently and after spending some time at cabelas I decided that I want to go with a Lowrider. The sales associate told me that they are carrying the split grip version of this rod online now, but they did not have it in the store. How does this rod balance? I used to fish with a Lowrider that I really liked, but I have never handled the split grip version of this rod. Thanks for the input.

braided line issue
20lb braid is not too small. I use it on my curado for inshore fishing and it casts a mile with no problems. My fishing buddy uses 15lb braid and he loves the stuff.

Powell Max Rods
What size jigs? I had a 703 that was great for senkos, but was a touch too light for larger jigs. I really liked it for T-Rig with 1/4oz weights.

Lowrider vs. Crucial vs. Compre
I talked to my buddy who works at Cabelas and he said I was looking at the Medium Compre 7ft 1/4-3/4. That explains why it felt weaker then the crucial. Leaning toward the lowrider, but I am still undecided.

Lowrider vs. Crucial vs. Compre
How do these rods compare to each other? I am looking for a worm rod MH fast or ex fast around 7ft. The compre felt kind of whippy compared to the other two, but I have not fished with any of them. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

shimano chronarch 100b VS shimano curado e7 (help which one should i get)
Fished with the new chronarch last weekend. I believe it was the 100D7. Anyway, it was incredibly smooth and really casted far. However, I have been using the Curado 200E7 since it came out and I can honestly say the chronarch is not that much better. I compared it to a curado that i just had serviced and the curado casted just as far as the chronarch, but the chronarch was smoother. 120$ smoother? I think not.

Loomis 101
Oh yeah I am wearing it out

Loomis 101
Can somebody please give me a quick rundown on the differences between the different Loomis models? I am in the market for a new T-Rig and smaller jig rod (less than 1/2oz). I am looking at the GL3, IMX, and Mossyback. For the GL3 and IMX I am looking at 7ft 1/4-3/4. For the Mossyback I am looking at 7'1" 3/16-5/8. I used a Mossyback in the past and really liked it, but I am not sure how these other two models stack up against the Mossyback. Also, this rod will be used for saltwater fishing too. It will be used for speckled trout in 15-20 ft of water. We use 3/8 or 1/2 oz jigs with a paddletail minnow for this type of fishing. "Inshore rods" do not cut it for this type of fishing because their action is way too moderate and flimsy. We use MH bass rods so we can feel the light bite in deeper water. I am currently using a Dobyns 704C for this application, which is great for 1/2oz, but I want something a touch lighter for the 3/8oz. Thanks folks

Quietest Braid?
Next re-spool I am getting some fireline. Everybody on here seems to really like it.
-
Quietest Braid?
Not sure which braid is the quietest (all I ever use is powerpro), but I can tell you the inserts in the carrot stick are really loud with braid.
