  1. Done. Do you want me to P.M. you my address? Mike
  2. Google "goggle eye" or "war mouth" that sounds like what you have.
  3. I had never eatin bass until friday night.me and 3 of my buds decided to go night fishing friday night and about 2 am we started getting hungry so one of my budies catches a 1 pounder and guts and scales him. Impales him on a stick and cooks him over our camp fire. Probably some of the best fish I've ever had in my life. I was very suprised. Gut and head them and throw them on ice and you'll be good to go. mIke
  4. I have a 10" LMB in a 30 gal tank now. I'm getting a 75 galon soon to put him in. I think the 30 is to small for him. I'd let him go if I didn't plan on putting him in a bigger tank soon. He's freaking awsome. Very agressive eater. I'll go out and net about ten 1.5" minows and drop them in. He'll usually eat about 6 or 7 of them right away and the rest later. He'll stalk them, ambush them and flat out chase them. I almost feel sorry for the minnows. Especially the ones that he saves for a midnight snack. I've had oscars and african cichlids wich are supposed to be agressive fish and they are guppies compared to the bass. Go for it! MIke
  5. I've done well with Junebug and watermelon green. All the water I fish is pretty clear. Mike
  6. I just picked up a pack but havn't cast one yet. how do you work them? Mike
  7. Even though I'm fairly new at this game, I've been doing well with ZOOM trick worms lately. Cought 5 yesterday on June Bug. Missed 2 and I couldn't even get a nibble on a watermelon seed senko. Mike
  8. I'm working on getting a 15' jon boat from a guy at work. I've got two budies with boats too. I've heard the same thing about the Delta fish. Too small. I've actually gotten on Google earth and looked around. There are hundreds of ponds around here but they are all on private property. Lots of farm ponds. There is a big pond down the street in a neighbor hood I'm going to try out. Any good places over in Loxley? I wouldn't mind heading out that way on occasion. Thats a very nice area to be in. Whens that Bass pro shop suposed to open? I have a feeling I'll be over close to your neighborhood a good bit when they open. ;D Later, MIke
  9. Hey guys, I'm in Theodore. I fish a little creek behind my house and have been to Dog river, Rabbit creek and Fowl river. Would love to find a nice lake or pond around my house to catch the big ones in. My creek is full of Bass but the bigger ones are mabe 1.5 lbs and the average catch is under 1 lb. It's fun but I'd really like to get on some bigger ones. had ok luck with the rivers but I think I just don't know where the sweet spots are. I was thinking Big Creek Lake probably has some nice fish but I wouldn't know where to go except next to the bridge. Could also use some pointers. I've been fishing for a long time but just started bass fishing about a month ago. I have beer and will travel! ;D Thanks for any advise! Mike
  10. Hey guys, Thanks for all of the suggestions. I'll try them out and let you guys know what I found. I'm Going to try a lake up the street from my house within the next week or so. Looks promising. I hope to get to catching some bigger fish soon. I have thought about trying fly fishing over the years but then I think about having to buy all new gear and having a whole new addiction. Besides there is no way I could cast a fly rod in this creek. Way too many tree's around. It's hard enough to cast my worms and frogs. I Do get them hung up every now and then still. Thanks again, MIke
  11. Hi Guys, I've been fishing since I was a kid. Probably about 30 years. Almost all saltwater though. Recently I found out that a small creek on the back of my property has small bass and bream in it. I've been tearing up the bream with crickets and grashopers but I'm having a little more trouble with the bass. The bass are all in the 1-2 lb range and i let them go when i catch them. So far i've landed about 4 bass on black worms and gotten a soft frog bait torn up but have not hooked one yet on it. The creek is about 20ft wide and varies in depth from about 2 ft to about 5 ft. Water is crystal clear and I see bass all the time. Some spots it pretty fast moving and others its fairly slow. It's actually completely in the woods and there are tons of trees both over the creek and in it. Lots of things to get hung up on. I got in there today and got some of the bigger stuff out of one of my spots. I've got about 100 or more yards of this creek on my property and there are a lot of changes in this distance. I need some advise on the best way to fish this creek. What kind of baits can I use that are not easily snagged? how do I work these baits? Someone told me that bass love live gold fish, Any truth to this? i'm useing a little shimano spinner rig now and I like it ok but I'm thinking of picking up a baitcaster combo. Any suggestions on a decent combo under $100? Thanks, Mike
