My two favorites are the Lucky Craft LV500's and the Xcalibur XR50. I've had the most success with those two. LC's are expensive and Xcalibur's can be had for $6.

Interesting. If I knew for certain that braid works just as good as fleuro or mono I would probably only use that.

I was shocked to come across this myself just recently. I have that book and I'm still reading it. What book is this?

Per the request of people on this site I've started using this knot and it's great. Just yesterday I was casting and my braid had a wind knot and snapped. The braid itself snapped before the knot did, and I was impressed. I was using 30lb braid with 20lb fluro leader. I've gotten really good tying this knot just by using a small piece of a drinking straw about 1.5 inches long.

Was wondering which ones you prefer and why? Thank You

I found out what I was doing wrong. I was only doing one side and not the other.

I tried using the double nail knot to tie the leader to the braid and it keeps slipping. What am I doing wrong? Anybody have an online guide for this knot?

How long of a leader does everyone use for braid?

I usually rip the bait without any pauses but that doesn't seem to be doing the trick. How do you guys use them?

Same here. I normally use a 6' leader. What got me to using the leader was a day's comparison when 6 of us were fishing in the same area so we had the same water clarity. The three guys who had mono kicked some serious butt that day. Unfourtunately, I was one of the braid guys. 6'? how do you tie on the leader?

I love using braid but I'm starting to wonder if it is affecting my ability to catch more fish. For those of you that have used it do you feel the same way as me? Or do you have full confidence in braid and use it exclusively?

I love braid but the concer I have with it is the fish can see the line. I'm starting to think the visibility of braid is starting to affect my fish-catching abilities.

I just started getting into using flukes and have had mild success but letting the fluke drop all the way down raise up the rod a couple of times, reel the slack a bit and let it drop again. I was wondering how you everyone else fishes them.
