  10. I like Booyah Pad Crasher and Poppin Pad Crasher. Casts easy, plus it's simple to add weight (BB's) to them for heavy slop fishing. I haven't had the chance yet to fish the new popping Savage Gear frogs, but I'm looking forward to using them this summer!
  11. 30# braid on a baitcaster is about as low as I would recommend, but it's manageable. Does your reel have magnetic brakes in addition to the spool tension knob? Usually the magnetic brake control is located on the opposite side of the handle. If your reel has this, then I'd turn it up about 1/2 way for starters. It will help slow down the spool near the end of the cast, which seems to be issue, given your description.

  16. I want to salute the the 4 warriors honored with these rods, and the members who built their rods: Warrior Branch Builder Sam Army S Hovanac AJ Coast Guard Alpster Clayton86 National Guard Ghoti Oregon Native Navy Mike (Delaware Valley Tackle DVT) I can't tell you how proud I am of these folks - both who served, and who took the time to build the rods. SALUTE! And again, many MANY thanks to Batson Enterprises for donating all the rod components for all the rods! Y'all are too awesome for words.

  18. I have the 7' 1" version. It's become one of my favorite rods for pitching (no, seriously, it has). For the past 3 years, I've used this thing practically every time I go fishing for pitching various baits into reeds, timber, and matted vegetation. I like how light it is, yet still has plenty of backbone for wrenching fish out of heavy cover. Here's my review on it: https://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/okuma-tcs-rod.html

  21. Geez guys, y'all sound like a bunch of whiny housewives! LOL! I just unpinned it, as it seemed it has enough regular posts on it to keep it bumped up to the top. So it doesn't need to be pinned. Geeeeeeeze!
