Trailer Tire Recommendations
I chucked my Marathons for the Les Schwab tires. Not only are they better, but there's a Les Schwab everywhere, just in case something happens. Also note - if your tires are more than 6 or 7 years old, replace them regardless of how much tread is left! Treadwear is NOT an indication of a tire's condition on a trailer. The rubber breaks down over time, and weakens. Thus a blowout WILL occur! Also, as mentioned above, only get trailer tires for your trailer. They are more flexible, which not only "cushions" your boat, but also makes it much safer for towing. Regular car tires can make your trailer bounce all over the place.

I don't think you guys understand. I'm talking about a no-holds barred section where the mods don't exist! You don't get some moderation based upon whatever you think is the right amount - because nobody will agree on what that amount should be. You see, on occasion, we get complaints that we moderate too much, or the censor rules are too heavy-handed. So I thought there might be an interest in the availability of a mod-free forum. But it means just that - you don't like how a thread goes down, you can't turn to us to "fix it". If you don't like somebody or what they said, you can't turn to us to "fix it". If somebody attacks you in there, you can't turn to us to "fix it". You're on your own. I may even make it a pay-for-play forum so it's very clear y'all understand the rules going in. I'm just tossing the idea out there in response to some of the criticisms. Just checking to see if there's an interest in a mod-free zone.

LOL, maybe with less filters too. ;D So is there any interest in this? An "anything goes" unmoderated forum? This would be a password protected, ask-to-join forum so that everyone knew what they were getting into from the start. Note that BR staff would not mediate nor get involved at all, other than ensuring everything stays within legal bounds. Any interest in something like that, or do you think it could cause riffs and fights that would spill out into the other forums?

I need to clarify - the entire infrastructure was down. It didn't matter if the stores were on generator power (they were), they still couldn't process credit card transactions because they couldn't connect to the outside world. Same with cash machines. Nobody has paper charge slips these days - of if they do, they still won't use them because of credit card fraud. And that's the same reason why the pumps didn't work unless you paid by cash. Maybe hurricane-prone areas are better prepared, but my area isn't. A storm packing 100+ winds is extremely rare in my neck of the woods.

Snakehead Round Up 9-19-2010
Yep, he asked permission and I gave it for 4 reasons: 1. It's not a tournament circuit 2. It's not a "for profit" event 3. It benefits the fishery 4. It's more of a informal get-together than anything else. The term "tournament" is really a misnomer. "Roundup" is more like it.

Police Officer Comments
Well, on the flip side of things, local law enforcement shot and killed car thieves on 3 separate occasions recently in my neck of the woods. All three took off and led them on dangerous car chases through crowded streets, produced weapons and/or shot at the police. Justice served.

Yep, we already have one, but only the kids can access it. This not only protects them, but also gives them a place where they can interact with each other without the "old farts" jumping in.

Agreed. If there's even a remote chance you'll get bad ju-ju coming your way, then do everything you need NOW to prepare as if it WILL happen. Nobody can laugh at you for being prepared. But they'll label you an idiot if you don't when the worst does happen.

What ever happened to the two dummys that hoaxed "BigFoot finding
Well Bobby may look like a Yeti, but that's not what we're talking about! : I think he's asking about the dude that supposedly found a frozen Big Foot and put it in a cooler or something, and then showed it off as "proof" Big Foot exists. Turned out to be a hoax.

Malware
Please note that the fact that your malwarebytes program recognizes proves that it's working. So you can safely access it the page, and malwarebytes will block the virus. That said, it appears this is ONLY happening to those folks with Malwarebytes installed on their computers, which lends me to think this might be a false positive. If it were an actual threat, I would think everyone would be getting warnings from Norton, AG, McAfee, etc. But it's questionable since it's only Malwarebytes that's sending out warnings. I've been traversing this site up-and-down and all over quite heavily across 3 computers with different anti-virus programs installed, and none of them has flagged anything. None of them have Malwarebytes installed on them either. Hmmmm......

No, they're on the page you're trying to access. So click "ok" and you should see them.

Malware
It only blocks the images, not the code. So again, one more time, If you get it again, please take a screen shot and post it - capture the entire page if possible. Also tell me EXACTLY what ads are appearing on the page (and their position). Describe the ads as thoroughly as possible, noting their URL if possible. If you don't have this information, then don't post on this thread. Saying, "It just happened" tells me nothing at all.

Ok, that screenshot doesn't help me at all. I need to see the original page. I need to see what's on it - specifically the ads. Make sense? Again though, this is easily detectable, so there's no threat to your computer. It's just annoying as all get out.

Malware
3 things: 1. There's no "history". A previous issue about 6 months ago was with an entirely different network, which I promptly dropped forever. 2. I don't know yet for sure that it's a Google ad. It appears to be leaning in that direction, but I'm not certain. 3. The "infection" is a well known "old" malware attempt that anti-virus software easily detects and blocks (obviously, or you wouldn't recieve the warnings). So it's a minor annoyance at best, until it can be resolved. I haven't heard of any more issues, so it may already be fixed.

East coast guys worried?
Well guys, stock up on supplies and cash. We got hit with 100+mph winds a few years ago, and the entire area was without power for days. Stores were open with generator power, but card swipe machines and cash machines didn't work! Cash-only environment then, boys. Take heed! btw - gas stations didn't work either. Folks ran out of gas for their generators and couldn't refill their gas cans. So get some now and fill up the truck while you're at it.

Guys, It could be an infected ad running through the Google network. Given the randomness, it appears likely. Google has over 150 different networks, and I can shut individual networks off. But I need a ton of details to figure out which one it is - if this is indeed happening. If you get it again, please take a screen shot and post it - capture the entire page if possible. Also tell me EXACTLY what ads are appearing on the page (and their position). Describe the ads as thoroughly as possible, noting their URL if possible. If you don't have this information, then don't post on this thread. Saying, "It just happened" tells me nothing at all. That said, I'm sure Google is on it as well, and they might shut it down before we can figure it out - if they haven't done it already. But we gotta try.

Burely - there's no reason that IP should be causing any alerts. It's a clean IP: http://rbls.org/208.43.86.171 Furthermore, every search I did to find virus info on that IP points to false positives in Malwarbytes.

Sounds like either your hub is slipping or you're cavitating. Take fishfordollars' advice. You'll find out in a hurry whether or not your hub is slipping.

Ranger Z20 Deal Question
It's either messed up or stolen. Go to the test drive and get the hull and license plate numbers. Then report it to the police.

Awesome cop has a temperment of a saint!
Bassn Blvd - THANK YOU for your honesty! I respect that immensely. I find it hard to believe he was fired based off the video. Getting reprimanded for being sarcastic - perhaps. But unless it's one episode in a long string of other, more severe, conduct issues, I can't see him being fired. That said, I'm still very surprised the driver got away with his antics. The officer definitely gave him (too much) latitude, which was possibly dangerous and could have ended up very differently.
