GPS depth finders
I have the Lowrance X-15 MT with MapCreate mounted on the consol of my Ranger. My only complaint: I didn't order one for the front! This unit is absolutely awesome. The depthfinder has excellent detail, and the GPS is very accurate (used it to mark underwater stickups last year during practice and was able pinpoint my casting right on target during the tournament). In addition, being the techie I am, I use the MMC cards for creating custom maps, waypoints, routes, etc. before ever launching the boat. Sure saves a lot of fishing time!

Is bass fishing the same big or small?
BTW - there's many articles on this site regarding lunker bass behavior and trophy bass fishing. Chris covered some of if, but there's even more info out there in the articles.

River vs. Lake for largemouths
Here's a topic that I don't hear much about: If you regularly fish for largemouths in current, what are the differences you look for in river fishing vs. lake fishing. Do the largemouth prefer to be in the current, just out of the current, or in the backwater areas? How does rising and falling water affect the fish? Those types of questions along with others concerning the differences in lake vs river fishing are encouraged. I have my own thoughts, but let's hear from you first.

Creating crankbaits
For those that create their own crankbaits: do you use a plastic sealer for sealing up plastic crankbaits that leak? What type of sealer do you use and where do you purchase it?

New Tred Barta Show on OLN
Personally, I haven't viewed the show, so I can't comment on it's content. It just sounded to me like an outdoors show would have some interest here.

Forum Growth
Well folks, as I write this, the new forums have been open exactly 2 weeks. Since then, 96 members have registered and posted over 600 messages. By comparison, we had less than 300 messages posted on the old forums for the entire summer! Thank you all for coming aboard and sharing your knowledge! I can't tell you how impressed I am with the great questions and detailed answers I'm seeing. Y'all are great! Glenn

swimming a jig
Ease up Chris. Everybody has their favorite, or preferred baits/methods. Just as you, they're entitled. You love pork? That's great! Talk about it's qualities and why you use it. But don't knock those that don't.

New Forums???
Welcome aboard, Danarchy. There's a lot of great people here learning from each other. I'd like to think part of the reason is because of the caliber of people this site attracts. ;D That said, on the rare instance a rude or flame comment is posted, I delete it and give the offender a warning. Repeated offenders get my boot up their butt and are banned. I won't tolerate that behavior on my site. Fortunately, I've only had to do that once or twice in the past 7 years. Again, a tribute to the character of the people visiting this site.

Scent or no scent
It's actually a thick liquid, not a paste. Got hooked on it during a trip on the John Day river (http://bassresource.com/fishing/smallmouth_river_fishing.html).

Good, bad, and the ugly!
Funny how 2nd is great for most, except when you're 2nd and know you could've done better. Or, for that matter, when you're 3rd, or 4th, or.... isn't is odd when you place 20th, or 40th, you would've killed for 2nd, but when you end up in 2nd, you're disappointed? Chris - great posts!
