LC Redemptions On Sale
I feel the same way about this bait as I do about Berkley's Ike gripper jig; I really want to fish it but can't bring myself to spend that much money.

What was your first artificial lure?
Hmmmm........first lure for any fish was a 1/16th oz. beetle spin for catching sunfish. First bass lure was a 1/4 oz. black, silicone skirted jig with a red, Berkley pork strip.

Ardent Reels
I'm actual owner number 3 or 4. I have 2 xs1000s and a c400. I am very pleased with the preformance of these reels. I know most people on this forum recomend Shimano reels and it is for a good reason. I used, and loved Shimano for years but have switched to Ardent because I can cast them further and they have a superior drag system. I have read the Tackle Tour review and it seems to contridict itself. It gives it a mediocer score but then has this to say: "The retrieve on the Ardent baitcast reel is actually quite impressive. It's very smooth and fast thanks to high quality ABEC 5 bearings Ardent chose to use in the XS1000 reel. Under load, cranking feels effortless and quite powerful when working lures and hauling in fish. Speaking of the handle, when I spun the knobs, I was amazed at how fast and long they would spin. I don't think I've ever seen a knob spin this fast and freely, for the same duration of time." And.... "In terms of comfort, the XS1000l feels pretty good in hand when palming. The shape of the reel fits into my hand quite well and is comfortable to grasp all day fishing. The handle knobs are large and easy to grip, and are made of a soft firm rubber material that's welcoming to the fingers." Sounds like a good review to me! I will be buying a couple more xs1000s this year. I want to end this post by saying that I am in no way sponsered or payed by Ardent Reels.

What to do when the lake is flooded
Try fishing the old shoreline that is now in 8-10 feet of water.

Flourocarbon?
Seaguar Red Label or BPS XPS. Really, Red Label is just as good as the BPS and its cheaper!

Largemouth on an ozark stream.
I know that Largemouth prefer slack water, the problem is that there is literally miles of it. Surely the fish are keyed in on a specific depth, cover, or type of structure. I need tips to eliminate the unproductive water. thanks

Largemouth on an ozark stream.
I just returned from a trip on the Big Piney river, I caught plenty of smallmouths but the Largemouths eluded me. I know there is good largemouth fishing on this stream, the lodge had a couple of 5 plus pounders mounted on the wall. How do you catch green fish on these streams?

Fort Leonard Wood, MO
I just got back from a float trip on the Big Piney, we lauched from the Six Crossing acess point. Caught several smallmouths in the 12" to 17" range.

I need a new worm rod!!!
How about a St. Croix LTBC73XHF ?? :-?

on bed.....no bite??
My best bedding rig last year was a white finesse worm on a drop shot. Man, you can shake that drop shot on that bed all day without moving the weight. If that doesn't work, try nudging the fish on the nose with the worm.

Your favorite mono and flourocarbon?
Bass Pro xps flouro, is the best I have used.

Table Rock
Oh, and thanks for the responses guys!

Table Rock
Didn't go so well. My boater and I both zeroed. I think we fished too fast, it was still nice to get out there though.

straight shank or EWG when flipping soft plastics?
IMO you get better hook ups with straight shanks. I use them for flipping and evertything else, except senkos.

ardent reels
I have 2 xs1000s and a c400 and haven't had a single problem with them. I really like these reels; they are fast, incredibly smooth, powerful, comfortable, cast very far and have the best drag I have ever used on a casting reel. I have read some threads on here about people having problems with them, I sit at me computer and think "what are they talkin' about?" I don't know what model you have but I will certainly recommend the xs.

Carolina rig rod
Its a legend tournament bass, a new one goes for about 260 bones. I got mine on sale.
-
Carolina rig rod
St. Croix TBC73MHF. I drug a c-rig and jig all weekend on Table Rock with this rod, it rocks!
-
Rod decision
Are all your rods casting rods? I recomend getting at least one spinning. 6'6"- 7' med, extra-fast.
-
Flouro for flipping heavy cover?
Another option would be to keep the braid on the reel and add a flouro leader.
-
Table Rock
I will be fishing a tournament as a co-boater on April 4th. Any insight on the lake would be apperciated. Thanks

silver thread an40...
Yeah, its good line. I used to use it on all my rods until I switched to flourocarbon.
