  1. Looks like the exchange is another huge success. Thanks fishindaddy
  2. the lews seems to be a good choice, I've no personal experience with the reels, but from all reports I've seen they are well made reels. For my money I would drop the gear ratio down to the 5.1:1 found on the BB1 model. The reel you used the last time was a 6.2:1, do you happen to know the ipt of the reel? I'm guessing around 25 ipt, if so the MG 5.4:1 brings in 23 ipt, not much difference, you can simply reel slower with the 6.2 or get a crankbait reel. IMO that means nothing over 22 ipt, and I prefer 20 or 19ipt for working the deep divers.
  3. X3 deep diving cranks demand less ipt, somewhere around 20 ipt, with the pro qualifier its the ones mentioned. Pair it with a mh bps crackin stick and you are set. Both are on sale now and will be again during their spring sale
  4. Like WW2 posted I've had trouble with graphite framed reels when it comes to baitcasting reels, not any with spinning. My first two bc reels were graphite framed and each lasted less than 2 years. Both flexed when under load in the second season. One was particularly bad, even weeds would cause it. The other cost me what at the time would have been my pb. Hooked the fish everything was fine until she turned and ran, the reel flexed gears no longer made contact and she was gone.
  5. IMO the situation u described is tailor made for a buzzbait. Here is why, if the lake has much pressure most ppl will work it with a frog, spook, pop r, or wake bait. To throw a buzzer in there you will have to be quick on getting it up on plane. The way I accomplish this is watching the bait, after I cast I drop my rod to be horizontal to the water. Right before the buzz his the water I stop the spool and raise my rod tip, many times you can instantly have the buzz on top even before you start reeling. Be quick or it will foul. A double blade buzz, no clacker, and burn it. Work it from every angle, several repetitions. I believe buzzbaits work because it just aggregates the crap out of them. My pb large mouth came from doing just what I recommended. If not a buzzbait then a ragetail shad. The shad would be easier to work and produces a unique sound, that may bring a strike when nothing else will.
  6. No doubt a NIB Curado half price, does he have any more lol.
  7. I mentioned my go to spinner, I have allot of confidence in it. Assassinator Pro Clacker. Google it and buy the white chartreuse with one gold and one chrome blade, its awesome.
  8. By submerged how deep is the water and how close to the surface does the vegetation grow? Any open pockets?
  9. Scary for sure, sounds like u have allot going on. Prayers for u and the family especially your son. Merry Christmas
  10. He was insanely talented, awesome
  11. Wow what a find, did he by chance draw a ruffed grouse? Do u have plans to frame any?
  12. 1. Spinnerbait assassin pro clacker white chartreuse fluke trailer white ice 2. Zoom trick worm watermelon red 3. Jig with rage trailer (green pumpkin or black blue) 4. Jerkbait or crankbait You did not limit terminal tackle, I would have shakey heads and drop shot + t rig stuff. I now can remove the fluke trailer drop shot it, cut the worm for shakey heads, or drop shot the trick worm, u can even put the rage craw on the right shakey head and it'll stay in the defensive position, can t-rig the craw or put enough weight on it to punch. You can limit lures and with the right terminal tackle still have an arsenal of ways to fish. Rods 7' MHF casting with BPS Pro Qualifier 7 MF spinning with Quantum 20 Catalyst
  13. Nah closer to 5:25 & 32.3564 seconds lol This is assuming you were not on an astral projection nor one of the nutters actually at the Mayan ruins waiting. So I guess this celestial event actually ended the age of aquarius? lol
  14. Wasn't the time of the alignment, for us here in the U.S. last night at midnight. Or the first minute of December21. Nope actually around 4am EST, we are actually we are now 9+ hours past the deadline. http://www.timeandda...-world-end.html http://www.timeandda.../countdown/maya
  15. I really like rage Shads, and I especially like running them thru water meal and duck weed (the coarse green stuff on top), gotta keep it moving quick. Something about a bass exploding thru that stuff, gets ya fired up. I caught my pb on a double blade buzz bait that bass just exploded thru the water meal. So cool. I was literally just screwing around seeing how high I could throw that green slop off of the blade, reeling as fast as I could when she hit.
  16. Kryptonite Seriously it would be physical limitations that will not allow me to fish very long at a time.
  17. X2 great advice. Also note the Cumara was recently redesigned so sensitivity should be far greater.
  18. I have a couple of crankbaits, well swimbaits I guess, I'm wanting to get them custom painted like a trout. Anyone willing to do that? Or point me in the right direction to get them painted? Obviously I will pay.
  19. Recommendations on the hard body swimbait types, just doing some looking today and see that there are a bunch in this category. So does anyone fish the hardbody types. The Jackall, Castics, Lucky Crafts, etc?
  20. On Alaska State troopers (nat geo) they were talking about escorting the kids to school because of eagle attacks.
