Thanks guys for the info. fished @ Fountainhead from shore this afternoon for like 4 hours. A baby bass, a couple of blue gills and a crappie were caught and released.

Thanks for the reply. I fish whatever I can get... still at greedy newbie stage. If you can give me some names of creeks or coordinates (no intention to steal ur sweet holes.) in your area where is good to fish from bank, that ll be greatly helpful.

I live in falls church and I have been fishing for around 10 times, mostly @ river bent, and great falls, never got any decent fish. :-[ Recently I have some time, just got a new 6ft ugly stick, a bunch of lures and so ready to fish for some good ones. could you guys give me some advices as well. Thanks a lot.... PS, I got a car but no boat...

Caught it at Greatfalls National park yesterday, of cause it is the Potomac. It is around 20 inches long, pretty big right?! Killed!! This one was not fun to play with at all, just simply pull it over without too much fight. > I just noticed that a lot of people concerned about the fish I caught. I am New to Bass fishing, New to fishing, New to VA and New to the US. Now I am working and studying in vienna, fallschurch, herndon, reston area and I mainly fish at Little river park and lake of fairfax park. So far I have gotten several tens of basses and some bluegills as well. Just wandering where to get some live worms. PS: I am always happy to know new friends out there, hopefully knowing some of secret smallie holes . Thanks.

Welcome to the board! I am new to here too though And also a new angler. The Riverbend park is the only park I often go to(5-6times this July), But I never had the same luck as you did, only several bluegills and a few smallies less than 1lb. Hope I can see you there and learn some new skills. If you are going there recently, PM me if you do not mind :-[
