  2. Abu rocks!!!! Great stuff thanks badog
  3. IMHO A long sleeve shirt and pants made of coolmax or some kind of spf protection are way cooler, If I am on the river or Delta all day, I am am much cooler with these clothes on. A wide brimmed hat is a must!! Lots of sunscreen on the ears, neck, face, tops of hands and tops of feet if wearing sandals. Being red headed I am an expert on sunburn. I have not been sunburned significantly in the last 20 years. A friend of mine just got some skin cancer cut out of her nose and ended up with 50 stitches. She has red hair and did not use sun screen but is using it now and preaching at others to use it.
  4. thanks for the info guys. swampland looks like the ticket!!!!!! Badog
  5. I would like to build 2 spinning rods and 1 bait casting rod to throw worms, not Senkos though. Spinning rods will be for friends who took me drift boat fishing on the Green river!! Have been cruising looking for a kit, but getting sensory overload. Can any suggest blanks or kits for worm rod. This will be my first build. I am on a budget due to my wife getting laid off so am looking for biggest bang for the buck!! Thanks for any help!!!!!! Badog
  6. What doesn't kill, Makes you stronger!!!! Good luck with the new rod!!!!! Badog
  7. Go for the LH retrieve, no switching hands , more efficient. I was a little worried about getting LH baitcaster, but after a few minutes feels very natural. Badog
  8. BH Wooly Bugger Badog
  9. I got a Clarus CSC-70H and Abu Garcia SX HS, I put on 50 lb Power Pro braid. This is my first Bait caster and I was super excited to give it a try, after 15 minutes I could throw a frog 70 feet, I had a few birds nest but nothing to bad. The BC seems much more efficient than a spinning outfit. I cant wait to get it out on the Delta or local rivers and catch some fish!!
  10. Opened the mailbox and my MEGASTRIKE was there!!!! Ordered direct from their web page, fast service no problems. Cant wait to try it out this weekend!!!!!!!!!!! Badog

  17. Smallie, hook up with North West Kayak Anglers (NWKA) they have a great forum, specializing in kayak fishing. I was up visiting and fished the Tualatin River, This is a made for kayaking river with free launch! I launched my kayak, paddled about 15 feet and an Osprey swooped down and grabbed a Small Mouth out of the water about 20 feet from me. Portland rocks!!!! Badog

I went to BPS in early nov, and they did not have the abu garcia c4 or sx in a L.H model, also did not have any striper trolling lures in stock. the gentlemen said the would get trolling lures in stock in a month. How could you be 10 minutes from ca delta and not have this in stock, and be out for a month during fall striper run. I went to fishermans wharehouse in manteca , which had everything in stock and same prices as BPS, and spent my 300.00 at their store. I feel like BPS is just a glorified walmart, while Delta Bait and Tackle has a full selection of gear with knowledgeable sales staff. I will support the local bait shop with great knowledge of the delta and local fishing waters, with my hard earned dollars Badog
  19. SWWEEEEEETTTTT!!!!!!!! They look great! Badog
  20. Sweet job!!!!!!! My new years resolution is going to be, never by a built rod again. i just bought my first kit from cabelas, and am going to build a fly rod for one of my friends. Great job on your builds!!!!!!!!!!! Badog
  21. Macmaster, the Ca Delta has over 1000 miles of waterways, tons of striper , LMB ,catfish, crappie, sturgeon. The record striper pulled out of the delta is 64 lbs. A guy caught a 70 lb striper out of O'Neil forbay not to long ago. But typical stripers in the delta run 16 to 23 inches, good fishing in the spring and fall striper runs. The Delta is amazing !!!! I love fishing from my kayak, and will fish the delta year round!! Badog
  22. I went striper fishing in Ca Delta for the first time last week. Stripers out of a kayak are a blast, I am hooked, and will be spending much more time in the Delta!!! Macmaster what a huge hog!!!!!! Great fish must of been a kick to land!! Badog
