Welcome, im from tucaloosa also and love to fish! My favorite two places to fish is 1. Lake Tuscaloosa because it is just so close 2. Lay Lake great place to fish, and thanks to Marks Outdoors there are millions of bass put in every year! I fish by myself alot so we will have to get together and do some fishin I try to go every weekend if not every other weekend with a seat open!! I have a small boat nothing fancy compared to the guys with the 21ft. Rangers with 250s but it gets me out there! Im in Northport Bass Club and fish a tornament with them once a month only about 15 boats but its fun group of guys!

How old is your state LMB record?
The Alabama state angling record (16 lb, 8 oz) was caught in Mountain View Lake, Shelby County, in 1987.

High water question?
Thanks for everyone advice so far! I will give it a shot and let yall know how it goes. I figured they will have the dam open full for the next day so I think there will be some good current on these newly flooded land points where they will be waiting on prey to drift by....well not sure how its gonna go cause its been about 2 months since i have been out....

High water question?
I have a question about rising water. We had rain like crazy the last three days to where we had flood watches/warnings. I am thinking about going out tomo and see if I cant catch a couple if the landings are not under water! Any help would be appreciated on fishing these conditions like do they go deeper or come up to new things under water???? Other info....water temp about 40 to 50 prob pretty muddy from the rain but I am hoping toward the dam its not as bad.

Flippin switch VS. twitchin bar
Might have to correct me dont know much about the flippin switch but I think it has one......you can flip the button with your thumb and it will stop the spool if thats what you mean?!
-
Flippin switch VS. twitchin bar
The reason is...is because Diawia opened a plant in china and thats where they make these reels thats why there so cheep there is also a pole they make over there that is a very good buy.

Flippin switch VS. twitchin bar
Had a Viento the x-mas they first came out and used it for about a year sold it and bought the Diawia with the twenchin bar. I thought the Viento was alright but bar was a little small only reeling up very little slack at a time. The Diawia reels twice as much slack. I think it is a great reel and plus the $50.00 for this one is better than $300.00 for the Viento, and I personally think it is a better reel. Great drinking beer and fishin reel you can do both at the same time!! :

strangest things caught?
Not sure what the proper name is and even if there is a proper name its like a mix. Anyway people down here in alabama call it a Grenal or Grenoll (how ever you spell it)

strangest things caught?
I have caught some strange things be for but fish wise I have to say these are the wierdest inbreed fish, as you can tell by my face i dont even like to touch them cause they have these little bitty teeth. This is prob. the 4th one I have caught this one prob. being one of the smaller ones......Can any one guess what this is or am I the only one that didnt know till a couple years ago when I caught my first one on accident!!!!
