Wildlife Creations?
Some of the mounts come out very nicely, while others look completely wrong. For instance, there is a large fish above the reel counter (baltimore store), Meaghan. When she passed away she was 11.5 pounds, but that fish looks absolutely nothing like her other then size. The coloration and patterns are all wrong. Not even close. But then he has some absolute beautiful mounts elsewhere in the baltimore store.

Want Your Guess at the Weight of This One
Absolutely beautiful smallmouth. I would have to guess around 4 to 4.5 pounds, which is an excellent smallmouth no matter where you are!! Nice catching!

Fly Fishing for Bass
Flies should imitate crawfish, aquatic insects, and minnows. Clouser Minnows (white/olive, white/chartruese, white/blue, ect. ect.) imitate minnows very well. Smallmouth seem to like clousers with thinner bucktails, while largemouth seem to prefer a larger bait. Crawfish and Aquatic Insects like stonefly nymphs and hellgramites can be imitated by flies like Wolly Buggers in Olives, Browns, and Blacks. There are also more realistic flies to imitate all of the above.

Bass Record equals Million Dollars? your thoughts?
I don't think that the "million" is going to come from tackle companies as much as one may think. Yes, they're going to load you with products, and will more then likely throw cash your way, but adding up to a million in cash...I think you'll be hard pressed unless your cards are right. The real money lies in NON-ENDEMIC sponsors. Those sponsors that are not related to the field of fishing. "Yes, I ate at McDonalds this morning, and every morning I am on the water to fuel my body with an excellent, warm breakfast and get my head in the game. On the water, it's nothing but Gatorade and Deer Park Water, the most refreshing water on the planet! Of course, I can't forget Bullfrog Sunscreen, who helps protect my skin on my long days on the water. And lets not forget AT&T, who provided me with the cell phone service needed to call my local DNR agent. I couldn't have done it without my FORD truck which hauls my boat and gear to the lake day in and day out without fail." You get the picture. I would list EVERY company that I used that day. From the biggest name down to the toothpicks I use and the gum I chewed. It all had an essential part in breaking the world record. And yes, I am available for marketing for any potential record breakers!!! ;D As for "growing" the new world record, Texas is already ahead of you with their "Share-A-Lunker" program which is, in essence, genetically programming bass with the big fish genes through selective breeding. It's quite interesting to read about the program in depth. There are also other smaller entities that are growing largemouth bass in private stocked ponds. Who knows how successful they will be, only time will tell!

4" tubes too big for smallies
4" tubes are my number one go to bait for smallmouth. I have honestly caught several dozen fish in the 6-8" range on a 4" bait. I am not sure if they are EATING it or picking it up to kill it, practicing for "later life" or if they're just curious. There are times, however, where the 2.5" teaser really does excel. In ultraclear water, or in COLD water (winter) I have found that the smaller profile bait gets ME more bites. Buy 'em both!

upcoming smallmouth trip, need advice
A GOOD set of polarized glasses will allow you to see under the water. Look for current breaks and yes, current exists in lakes. Rock ledges, transition zones from chunk rock to pea gravel, to boulders, ect are all high producers. Submerged cover such as trees will provide cover for the smallies as well. Look at the SHORELINE to find transition zones. They are typically visible above water. My number one bait is a 4" Mizmo Big Boy tube with a 1/8th ounce jighead with a 3/0 hook fished on 8 pound Bass Pro Excell line in moss green. Number 2 bait is a 2.5" Mizmo Teaser Tube fished on a 1/8th ounce jighead with a 1/0 hook. Senko's are also top producers, both wacky rigged and texposed style.

Newbie to Boards, York County PA
Hi All, new to the boards here although I am on BPS and TT pretty heavily. I just moved to the York Area to finish up my college career. I am DYING to get onto some fish. I walked around a part of Lake Redman a few weeks ago and didn't see much as far as shore access goes. I know I am not TOO far from Harrisburg and Duncannon, but I am wondering if there are other fishing opportunities from shore closer to me. I am very very familiar with Duncannon, River Front Campground, as I spend about a week there with guides fishing the Susque and Juniata rivers for MONSTER smallies. If anyone is looking for a fishing partner on weekends, or Friday's after 10am, please shoot me a PM. I will fish for whatever your quarry is, as long as it swims! I will gladly split expenses if you have a boat. I may be youngish (23) but I feel I can hold my own to any fishing situation, no baby sitting needed ;D Shoot me a PM or post in here if you have any more information on the area. This seems like an awesome site with tons of information.

md state record largemouth
She's in there, and quite healthy! I was there the night that Mr. Justin Riley brought the fish in and it was in less then fair condition. I ended up spending about 3 hours alone with that fish in the back room keeping her under water and breathing. She went from floating, to moving her fins, to swimming a few laps around the tank in the back room. That's a surprisingly big tank, with plenty of places to hide. She normally will sit near the back wall close to or above the boat. It seems a common place for the bigger bass, actually. Meaghan, a fish donated at the store opening from Missouri, would sit there until she passed away a few years ago.

newbie from south central pa
pafishslayer, I just recently moved to York, PA to finish up school. I am about 5 minutes from Lake Redman and DYING to do some fishing. I haven't found anyone up here who fishes, and shore access at Redman seems poor, although I have not explored all of it. If you ever need a fishing partner on Redman, shoot me a PM! I fish for anything that swims. I don't have my full assortment of tackle up here but am geared up enough for smallmouth and largemouth. Would be more than willing to split gas/launch fees/lunch/drinks.
