  1. Here is some fish I caught today at Bass Lake in Bartlett, il. The big guy was on a tip up with a med shiner, and the rest were on a tiny ice jig with a waxy. Incidentally, the bluegill is the most representative of the day. lol
  2. 6"-10" here last time i checked.
  3. pacu. Its a vegetarian cousin of piranha.
  4. Last winter, I forgot I put a six pack in my consol. All my insurance and registration paper work smelled like beer for a month. I was really hoping not to get pulled over.
  5. Outstanding!
  6. Nice! However, I still blame you for the cold temps! ;D
  7. Thanks Uncle Leo, I prefer the North unit anyway, to much hiking in the south unit for me. Maybe its time for an ATV......
  8. Well, on channel lake, on the chain, it was between 6-7 inches. Lots of fish, but very inactive. I think the bluebird skys didnt help, and it was right after a full moon, so we will see. Ill be back out this weekend, but I think ill head down to mizonia, or stay local.
  9. 1. River fishing, just cant seem to get the hang of reading the water. 2. Slowing down 3. I need to get a proper boat.
  10. Well, the first trip out I went to bass lake in bartlett, and managed to catch about 6 small gills and a couple small crappies. Nothing to keep though. Yesterday, however, me an some buddys headed up to channel lake on the chain, and caught 4 keeper gills and a keeper crappie. It was funny though, on the camera, I could see schools of gills slowly cruising around, but very inactive. It was, however, a nice day and my nieghbor took the fish to make a small batch of soup. Looking forward to trying some.
  11. Well, got out to channel lake yesterday about noon, and caught 4 keeeper size gills and one barely keeper crappie. No pics, sorry. got them all jiggin waxys in about 5 feet of water. Ice was about 8 inches thick. It was a slow day, but nice to get out.
  12. Well, I know I said I wouldnt be out until Jan 1, but I bought an underwater camera system and a shanty, so I figure I have to test them out. That being said, I will be heading out to test some small waters tomorrow, and playing with my new toys.
  13. Also, big shiners and suckers off the botom work well.
  14. soon, soon......Well, I guess some of the smaller lakes are safe, and guys are fishing them. But for me, I will wait for Jan 1. Good luck on the ice gentlemen, and stay safe! Edit: Also good luck ladies!
  15. Wow, I kinda thought it was just me, everyone I know gets annoyed by the CD.....I think they literally sing like angels.
  16. Welcome Zero, Im out in dupage county.
  17. I drop shot through the ice with TWO fatheads. One about 8 inches up, and one on a short leader about 16 inches up. I got one bass last year, and a couple of walleye. Very little movement, very slow.
  18. I predict I will learn a few more things on BR!
  19. Some of the lakes in and around Plymouth were real good when I lived out there, but I cant remember the names sorry. But, a great time can be had fishing for Stiper and Cod in Hull, Ma. Its the southern most point of the harbor, and the striper runs are fantasic in spring and fall. Also, dogfish and blues can be caught.
  20. Ill certainly head up to Wisconsin, but I typically hit Bangs lake in Wauconda, the Fox Chain, and Im planning on hitting Mazonia this year for some big gills.
  21. Hey guys, If anyone is up for meeting up for some ice fishing after the first of the year, pm me, or email me at pww.irocc@yahoo.com. I usually go two or three times a month, and will drive anywhere within an hour and a half or so. Thanks.
  22. Welcome back to fishing, and welcome to BR!
