  1. Rowers, kayakers and paddle boarders in that order
  2. Couple decient fish on the res, couple perch at Burke.
  3. Here I was thinking this was a post about a new carving knife dedicated to carving squirrel *like a turkey or roast*
  4. The search function is your friend! There are some very fine jerkbait aficionados here, plenty of them have opened up and given quite a bit of insight on everything you need to know!!
  5. Jerkbait, drop shot, a-rig and jerkbait, shakey, jerkbait, fitness jig, jerkbait
  6. Little knife porn for you guys!!
  7. I'm a little confused, please for me, a description of a 3" steak??!! Not finger food size 3" but thick wise 3" steak??!! i would be afraid that someone would steal it in my hood, I'd have to chain that thing down to the slab on my townhouse back yard!!! Love that table that goes with it!!
  8. Sorry brother, that's a tough break, I think you know the answer, otherwise you wouldn't have posted "possible reasons" to why it didn't end the way you wanted it to!!
  9. The pinned jerkbait thread in here is so worth a read if you want to learn about them, lots of good info!! @Choporoz
  10. Caught this on a pointer 100DD! Love the jerkbait bite!!
  11. Wow Troy, those are some very nice fish! Wish we had more places to catch fish like that! Keep it up!! I feel like the Northern Virginia area keeps trying to limit usage of viable fisheries!!
  12. From what I can tell, the bolster is the ends of the knife body. Whether it's ringed or pinched depends on how the maker scribes or fashions said bolsters??!!
  13. Got my bottle of Whistle Pig, the standard 10 yr. it's very good!! Jeff, it's very much like you described. I think it needs a little air time, only a couple pours in but have a feeling by the end of the bottle I'm going to want another!!
  14. Get off my lawn *shakes fist at nothing in particular in boxers and wifebeater*
  15. Maybe a mod could drop this into the Southeast section to get a better view for some of the NOVA members
  16. Went through 2 bottles of a 2005 Quintessa Rutherford once at a company Christmas party. Probably the best I've ever had. Our server made it sound exquisite. For the price, it should have come with some physical attention if you know what I mean!!!
  17. I have been leaning rye for w while. If you ever see copper fox rye, I would pick that up. Copper Fox is kinda local to me in Northern Va, just in Culpepper and I think they just opened a distillery in Williamsburg. Nice and smokey, slightly sweet finish. That being said, thank you Jeff for giving me the scoop on Whistle Pig, I'll give it a go!!
  18. I've seen Whistle Pig and I am quite curious. Robert, oh great whisky whisperer, flavor profile please!!??
  19. Virginia has had quite the growth of wineries in the last few years and a few of them have some very nice offerings. Granted not quite the quality of California and Washington state but very nice none the less. We are club members at one in particular that is very close and dog friendly. I believe they are the first bi-coastal winery in the US! That means at means they can use either bathroom right.............
  20. We had another big fish tournament Sunday. 1st was 5.89 and 2nd was 4.45. A lot of guys struggled. I was able to put a few in the boat. Jig and jerkbait did the trick for me. All on main lake, just can't find them very well in creeks. The bait is very scattered but when you find them, you can usually catch a couple. Bigger trees that hang over deeper water seem to hold good fish, getting them to eat is the issue!!
  21. Those are what I look for when when the weather turns like this!!
  22. Haven't been able to find any big fish in the backs yet. Mostly main lake still or the first third of the big creeks. Main lake guts and cuts will hold fish right now as well!!
  23. Sorry you didn't see that in time!! We threw a big fish tournament Sunday. Surprised at the turn out, we had 15 guys show up that wanted to play!! My 4 pounder won with a 3-12 second place!! It was a tough day as most of the guys left early. I always stay till the end and bring in my best fish no matter what, you never know, right!!
  24. Be careful, supposed to be very windy and right there at FH is so open all it does is rip through there! I would recommend you drop in at Lakeridge. A little more sheltered and there are plenty of options in that creek and much easier to get to the Fairfax county side with the wind!! Good luck and let us know how you do!!
  25. 52 soooooooo , I'm good......
