  1. I'm bewildered as to why anyone would come on a public forum and declare to the world that they conceal carry? But hey, it's your right to do so. M Star, the number one rule is NEVER put yourself in a situation carrying a firearm that you WOULDN'T put yourself in if you were unarmed. If you are that concerned, don't go there at all. Find someplace else to fish. The posts about being nervous around a bunch of armed LAW ABIDING citizens is what scares me. What group of people could be MORE responsible than a group that legally jumped through all of those hoops to obtain a CWL???? : Anybody who is anti-gun needs to plug their brain back in and do some research on what happens when a society is disarmed.
  2. Things must be different over there at Disney World. Over here, SJWMD does what they want. FWC has no say in the matter. At least that's what a couple guys from FWC told me. If FWC REALLY had any pull, they wouldn't have allowed your Hydrilla to be "almost completely gone", now would they? I'm sure you weren't the first guy to fill out that survey either. Excuse me for using simple logic.
  3. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't aquatic vegatation control done by the water management district and NOT FWC?
  4. Ahhh...come on Doug...all those brands have the same action and rate of fall. : :-X That's funny, because the guys throwing the knockoff Senkos this summer at Stickmarsh seemed to do much better than the guys throwing the real Senkos. :
  5. I have two of the 7'2 MH XF and love them. They work fine with Senkos or any other plastics/jigs etc. They make the ultimate carolina rig rod too. With that being said, they don't have a lot of tip and I think it affects accuracy, at least for me personally. I think you might like the fast model better than the extra fast models that I have. Either way, it's comforting to know that if you break it, they replace it over the counter, no questions asked.
  6. I forgot one thing. Don't ever mouth off to a guy who is about to work on your car. That's like sending food back at a restaurant!! ;D A skilled technician knows ways to sabatoge your vehicle where it is impossible to trace it back to them. They can do things that won't show up for months or even a year. Be nice, cowboy :-X
  7. Tipptruck, what kind of vehicle do you have? Many vehicles require removal of the spindle to press the wheel bearing out like you said. Ball joint/s and outer tie rod end would have to be seperated from the spindle in order to remove it from the vehicle. Although there are unethical techs out there, the MUCH bigger problem is incompetent techs who don't know what they're doing. There is a difference between the two, although it's also possible for a tech to be both! ;D I can also assure everyone that a LOT of situations where people think they are being ripped off is actually their own lack of knowledge when it comes to vehicles in general. It is a FACT that when you start taking apart any mechanical device, hidden problems that weren't initially seen can pop up. Anyone who's taken apart a fishing reel can relate to what I'm saying. Tiptruck, you're going to repair it somewhere else and send the original shop the bill? That's the wrong way to go about it. Let us know how it turns out. : Steve P. 8. I can't tell you any specific spots because I don't fish that chain of lakes, but I can tell you that flipping mats is usually the way to go during these cold fronts. A cold front will push a lot of fish under the mats. Now all you have to do is find the right mats(with fish under them)on literally tens of thousands of acres of water where you'll be fishing. I've went to some weigh-ins over there and watched guys like Clunn, Brauer, Nixon, etc come in without a limit on that chain during a severe cold front. What I'm saying is don't feel bad if you don't load the boat. Good luck and let us know how you do!
  9. ;D i was thinking that to myself while i was bringin em in. Just remember........baby steps, baby steps You'll get the bigun if you keep trying. Never give up!
  10. Here's the answer to your problem. Buy one and put a float on it. It will last you indefinately and you can stop guessing. http://www.eastabogatackle.com/productspage.html#pgtop
  11. Looks like you've also caught the attention of 3 kids! Nice job!
  12. Nice fish!
  13. Hawk, the fishing is good for some, but not so good for others. The lake is fishing small and the techniques change throughout the day.
  14. That pic of the smallest fish could quite possibly be the "coolest" pose for a fish pic that I've ever seen. ;D
  15. Avid, why did you have to remind me of our skunk day? It hurts man, it just hurts! :'( ;D I'm buying Roadwarrior a set of cheerleader pom poms!
  16. Yes, I've fished it before. Was out there today. Our best fish was 6# even. Yes, it can boggle the mind IF you are there when conditions are right AND you know where to fish. It's not simply a matter of picking a random spot and casting. A lot of people think that and end up going home very disappointed. Local knowledge rules here just like any other Fl lake. You don't need shiners. Swim Senko type baits, Senkos, Jerkbaits, Traps, Spinnerbaits, 10 inch worms, and CHUG BUGS if you're lucky. I can not emphasize enough the importance of watching the wind speed/direction the week before your trip. In Springtime, a good portion of the fishing will center around the wooded area in the South end of Farm 13. With that being said, any wind from a N. NW, or NE direction over 15 mph will dirty the water you want to fish. If you're coming down and it isn't calm for at least 3 days prior to your trip, forget it. Watch the weather and reschedule when winds cooperate. If you value your boat and it's lower unit, hire a guide. Larry Hauser is the best guide out there by far. No one can match his catches on this body of water. Saturday he had 15 fish over 5#s. Here's his site....... http://fishinbigbass.com/
  17. So let me get this straight. You have all of your techniques for fishing various baits and knowing when to fish which lure down to a science. You can danged near hit these Bass in the head because of your well tuned fish locating skills. Then you post that even though at the tender age of 15 you know everything there is to know about catching Bass, you can't seem to catch a darned thing? : Many people came on here and took the time to give you advice, yet you rejected that advice? : I believe that you have the same problem I had when I was 15. I thought I knew everything there is to know too. As you grow older, you'll know what I'm talking about. Avid gave the best advice in my opinion. Don't feel bad. There's a guy who calls himself Keithscatch that has been banned from this site, and he can't catch fish either and he's in his 40's! ;D
  18. Pondmaster, is there any other type of cover or lure you think he should try? ;D How about trolling with some Hot n Tots? I heard they work real good in ILLINOIS. ;D
  19. 5 to 7#?????????? ;D ;D 3.5# would be my best estimate.
  20. He's at home with the wife today and is doing fine.
  21. Put "stickmarsh" in google. Click on the FIRST site that comes up. Now, whatever you do, avoid this so called "guide" at all costs. This is the best advice anyone could ever give on hiring a guide there. If I save just one person from wasting their money on him, the ridicule I'm going to receive from Muddy for making this post is all worth it.
  22. I guess we SHOULD answer the question. The hotter, the better. Summer is more predictable because of the stable weather patterns. I've seen 98 degree surface temps on stickmarsh and had them schooling all over the place. FL bass don't mind HOT water like northern strain bass do. 64 degrees or better for best results. Below 60 and things get tough in "most" cases. Cold weather........get out your flipping stick and find some clean mats to flip if your lake has them. Good luck!
  23. Tebassco, how did you find us here? Didn't you hear the news? They drained Stickmarsh and are in the process of turning it into a 6500 acre off road riding area as per Jim Porter's suggestion. George moved to San Francisco to pursue a career in fingerpainting and Don WWF joined a shuffleboard league. I'm moving to Neb next month to try my hand at growing corn, lots of corn!!
  24. CFF1.5, can I go fishing with you after a major cold front has dropped water temps 10 Plus degrees overnight and the accompanying winds have also dirtied up the water?? I'll pay for your gas, but won't fish. I'll be busy taking notes on how you perform this miracle. ;D
