  1. look on Amazon for digital luggage scales , i picked one up for $10 to my door , works great !!
  2. that bait is similar to my SBI Golden Shiner , except mine is better looking !!
  3. i have a the first vesion of the Tournament Lite , the SLP version has a narrower front to it making it more compact , as far as the first version that i have , i absolutely love the reel ! it weighs 5.6 oz. ( replaced the stock handle with a Lew's 95 mm carbonfire handle and put medium size Revo eva paddles on it ) frame doesn't flex , reels very smooth , drag is great , and the braking (ACB) is perfect . i got mine on ebay for $140 had mine for about a year and still feels like it did when i got it .
  4. Alderbaran 50 , Lew's Tornament Lite SLP . & Revo MGX
  5. your tatula pitch was not even the relevent to the post , it was about Lew's and Shimano ... by the way , people use what they use and like what they like , the tatula reel (any version) holds not the least bit interest for me . they feel cheap in hand , don't like the twing thing ,they are heavy reels , my Lew's weighs 5.6 oz. , why would i want a 7.2 oz. reel ???
  6. i have a Tournament Lite and have no problems with a non aluminum frame , the reel is super smooth and strong
  7. i think if he tried a regular Lew's reel he would really love it as i find the MSB brake system works good but the ACB braking system is phenominal !! Lew's reels are small , strong ,compact , and smooth . even the graphite framed reels are strong . big heavy Tatula's aren't in the same class ...
  8. from the pictures , i can't see how you'd carry them but by the base of it , making it awkward .
  9. what's the tournament SK ??? , what model are you actually talking about ?
  10. 6 lb. Sunline Sniper is the ticket ... i've posted this in a few other topics of flouro leaders , try a long leader , between 8- 15 ft. , yes 8 - 15 feet of flourocarbon line attached to your braid , most people use a 2 ft. leader because they use it for line visibilty (lack of) and for abraision resistence , i use the long leader because of the sinking charecteristics , making a straighter path to your bait , essentially taking the bow out of your line like mono, straight braid or co-poly puts into the line as the bait drops through the water . plus , the longer line and less bowing of your line , your bait will fall more naturally and with more action . and one more thing , taking out the bow of your line , you'll up the sensitivity and slack line sensitivity tremendulously ! for all that have not tried it , give it a go and i guarantee you'll love the results ...
  11. without a doubt !! mandatory for all treble hook baits !! sounds like you would have to of towed that box behind the your boat on a dinghy !!!
  12. and don't forget these !
  13. looks good if you want to open the drawer and look at them , but for storage and minimizing space , seems that if you put those baits in a 3700 size plano ( looks like all those baits would fit in 1 or 2 ) , you could fit 3 or 4 plano's in that drawer .
  14. use the 12 lb. braid , you'll like it a lot better !
  15. is this a spinning set up ?? if so you might want to step down in braid size , i use 10 lb. Sunline SX1 with a long leader of Sunline 6 lb. Sniper , i use that set up for weightless stickbaits , drop shotting , & shakey heads . if you don't want to go as light as my line set up , try some 15 lb. braid to 8 lb. flouro
  16. you can put any size line for a leader you can get a good knot with . what baits are you throwing ? what type of fishing are you doing ? you'll get some good recommendations ...
  17. good choice , i think you'll be happier with the Okuma rod , i myself don't like powell rods
  18. MattLures Deadstick Trout 3:16 Armageddon Nates Baits El Grande & 10'' Trout Huddleston Deluxe 8'' & 10'' Baitsmith Magnum
  19. i was talking about transitioning from the size 8 guide as in 16/8/3.5's , i use 3.5's on my spinning rod , i have no problems with passing a uni-to-uni with 10 lb. Sunline SX1 to 6 lb. Sunline Sniper .
  20. i didn't read the article , when i think of a '' swimbait '' that is solid and 6'' , i think of an actual swimbait , not a soft plastic paddle tail which to me are not swimbaits ...
  21. i only use bullet weights on ribbon tail worms and rage tail baits like the Space Monkey & Smokin' Rooster , even then i only use a 1/8 oz. tungsten bullet weight , if i'm trying to present the bait on the bottom , it's all about the shakey head .
  22. blood red or any shade of red is all i use for punching as my number one punch bait is Savage Gear's rattling reaction craw . if i can't get them cheap , i just paint them my self with epoxy paint .
  23. 80 lb. braid is light , i can see 12 lb. CXX for smal glides like a R2S 168 , but i wouldn't use that line for any baits over 3 oz. , maybe an underhand toss . try that with a ABT suicide glide 12'' , the CXX wouldn't make it through the cast !! you are more daring than most !!
