owner Mosquito hooks
i myself would use the Owner Wacky hook in size 2 , a very stout hook and excellent hook up % .if you do go with the Mosquito hook , try the size 2 hook , they smaller you go , the more delicate they are .

duo realis/megabass
if you are gonna go with a Megabass 110 and want it to suspend , get the FX Tour Premium . to me , they all catch em , been picking up some Duo jerkbaits along with their spy baits , just love their eradic action and i truely believe they are the better option ..

rod guides
for my rods i use either Alconite or sic when i use Fuji , but i am more than satisfied with Zirconia and Nanolite . i been also using micro guides in Duralite and cannot tell the difference !!. it all comes down to frame height and durability of the frame in my choices . i have been using American Tackle Artus heavy duty micro guides because of the way the Ring-Lock guides protect the ring in the guide .i don't fish salt water with my bass rods so corroision resistance is not a priority .

Revo ALX or Curado 70
the new MGX now has the same frame as the ALX . i was in the tackle shop to pick up a BB1 Pro ( they ordered it for me but got in a regular BB1 ) so i was checking out the ALX and was really tempted to get it , the only thing i didn't like was the short handle ( but that can be fixed with a Lew's 95mm carbon handle ) and yes , the reel is very small but feels strong with the alloy frame , overall a very nice reel !!! was so close to buying it but chose to hold out for the BB1 Pro as i love the ACB braking setup and the stealthy look of the reel , plus it pretty much matches my Tournament Lite . EDIT : the tackle shop informed me this morning that their distributer could not get the BB1 Pro , so it looks like i WILL be getting the Revo ALX , gonna get a Lew's 95mm carbon fiber handle for it , will see how well it casts then if i think it needs improvement , i will drop in a set of Hedgehog AIR CERAMIC bearings ..

Spiral Wrapped Rod
wasn't trying to hurt anyone's feelings , sorry you took it that way . spiral wrapped rods take a lot of twisting torque off of a rod blank when the rod is loaded up .therefore it is better for the rod blanks longevity . a neoprene rod glove is your friend for spiral wrapped rods !!

Spiral Wrapped Rod
5 oz. for a swimbait rod is light !! my swimbait rod is 8.45 oz. , then again it's for throwing BIG baits ( 5 -15 oz.) and it's a 9 foot rod , spiral wrapped with a Fuji reverse 5.5 stripper guide and 11 size 4 micros plus the tip . that St. Croix 7'9'' swimbait blank 4C79HF is a pretty versatile blank , i'm thinking of building it as my punch rod . building on the opposite side of the spline is NOT gonna cause the rod to blow up , who told you that
-
Please help me make up my mind on blanks
for deep water jigs i'd get the MB905 , a 7'6'' XH/F
-
Spiral Wrapped Rod
it can't be that blank as the blank it self weighs 3.6 oz.
-
Spiral Wrapped Rod
you have to remember the reel is upside down and you can't see the stripper guide , all my rods are spiral wrapped and the stripper is 0 degrees , i feel offstting the stripper a few degrees is unnessary . i never heard of less guides for a rod with mico guides compared to a conventional wrap , i prefer a few more micro guides if static testing calls for it . 5 less guides , would like pics and an explanation ..

Sunline Shooter vs sniper
go with th 10 & 12 in Sniper for your cranking reels and the 16 lb. for jigs you can go with Sniper or Shooter depending on how much abrasion resistance you need .
-
Spiral Wrapped Rod
how many guides did you use ??? on my 7'7'' rods i have 11 plus the tip . that's a super light swimbait rod , what blank ?

Sunline Shooter vs sniper
Sniper is an excellent line as it's very strong , no much memory , and not much stretch compared to most other managable flouro lines . Sniper is a great all purpose flouro , where it really shines in my opinion is in the lower # lines like 5 - 8 as it is very good on spinning reels ! Shooter is also very strong , very good abraison resistance , and is very sensitive ( bite detection ) is does have more memory than Sniper and also less stretch . an excellent line for jigs !!! i use a lot of Sniper in 6, 8 , & 14 lb. and 10 & 14 in Shooter ( i use the Metan Green Shooter ) both top of the line in flourocarbon lines , they will have you covered in near any situation that calls for flouro

S-waver treble hooks
the 58's & 66's are stout hooks , i just think they just are not as ''sticky'' sharp as the 41's . i will always choose the cutting point over the needle point . just handling a swimbait with 41's is risky as they are so sharp !!! i also think the curved in hook tips help keep the hooks sharper longer , never have had a problem with keeping fish on them ... to the OP , every one has their preferences , when you fish the them let us know your opinion , with Owner hooks no matter what you choose you can't go wrong - best hooks in the game

duo realis
try the 90 .. i have talked to quite a few guys that say the G-Fix tungsten lipless bait is fantastic .
-
S-waver treble hooks
i feel just the opposite , ST-41's are super sticky sharp and are also very strong without being brittle . ST-36's are good hooks but are for small baits . on swimbaits you want a stout hook , sticky sharp , and a balanced to run true , the 41's are all that ,not much more you can ask for ...

Best Bang for $ Fluorocarbon
they sell 1000 yard spools for around $200 , he must have bought 3 spools for 600 .
-
832
the gore fiber is supposed to mitagate shock to the line therefore acting as a shock absorber to the other fibers . decent line but the coating they put on the line is sticky causing the line to stick to itself causing '' under '' runs . tried it for a bit but eventually took it off ...

Flip/Pitch Lew's Reel
- Best Bang for $ Fluorocarbon
Sniper is the best all around flouro , the line is very strong , not to much memory , and minimal stretch . you really can't ask for much more , Sunline makes the two best flourocarbon lines with Sniper & Shooter in my opinion , as i do not like stretchy lines . if you do like lines with a lot of stretch , check out seaguar lines ..- Less boyant braid
Sunline SX1 ..- Lowest memory mono
Sunline Super Natural .... - Best Bang for $ Fluorocarbon
