  1. Thanks everyone. I'm a little surprised by all of the fireline haters. I agree that it is not well suited for baitcasters, but in my limited experience with it, I think it performs pretty well on spinning tackle. In fact, it seems to be a great compromise between braid and mono. It is definitely not as limp as braid, but it really avoids the line twist problems of mono. But I guess it probably gets beaten out by a good braid like sufix or power pro. But I think I may just like the feel and handling of the fireline better. Thanks again
  2. Hawgchaser, Can you elaborate on why it was the single worst line ever? Thanks
  3. Hey all, I know that braid cuts really easy on rocks. Is this the same with fireline? Or is fireline more durable? Would also love to hear your experiences using fireline on spinning tackle. Thanks
  4. Was just wondering what everyone's favorite brand of "chatterbait" is? What colors and what trailer? Only currently produced models!! Let's hear it.
  5. Your not crazy at all!! I have been cranking with braid for some time, and it is great. I just recently decided to try fluoro just to see if I was missing anything...because it seems like everyone recommends it for cranking...and I hate it. Braid will get your cranks deeper, cast further, and the feel is amazing. Once you get used to it, you will know exactly what your crank is doing. Try it, you'll love it.
  6. Thanks for the reply. I hear you...I'll need to get one, then two, then....oh boy!! I think I'll have to start with the floater, especially since I already have a sinking ultimate bluegill on the way. Thanks
  7. fourbizz, If you had to do it over again would you stay with the sinker or grab the floater? I'm hesitant to get the sinker cause I'd hate to lose a $50 lure, but if it is more versatile and a better producer...then that's what I got to do. Thanks
  8. I'd go for the Spro...in fact I did. I had the chance to view them both in person and I think that is all that is needed to decide on the Spro. It's finish is way ahead of TT. Also, I fish with live shad from time to time in my waters, and while they catch fish all day, once in a while you'll net an abnormally large shad and if you put it on your line...hold tight because you will get hit quicker and by bigger fish. Size matters, go for the Spro. I bought the floater version because I often encounter shad boils and bass busting them, and there is no doubt in my mind that the Spro will deliver in those situations. I'm going to also be buying the fast sink version for the times during colder weather were I find shad suspended in open water. Getting this bait below them to where the fish are waiting will be deadly. As far as the missed fish with the spro, are you sure they just were not small fish. The TT will probably catch you a few more fish, but the Spro will catch the bigger ones IMHO.
  9. Thanks again for all the responses. I'm rethinking my approach and might just hold off until I can afford a baitcaster rod and reel combo. Thanks.
  10. Thanks for the responses.
  11. Hey everyone. I just joined this awesome group and am posting for the first time...so HELLO!! I need a new spinning rod for throwing deep diving crankbaits like norman DD22's. I know most people prefer deep cranking on a baitcaster setup, but I am looking for a good spinning rod for this purpose. Anyone have any specific rods they can recommend. I only have about a $150 to spend, so keep that in mind. Should I basically be looking for a 7' MH power fast action rod? Thanks guys.
