  1. Do different kinds of cat fish have different jaw power ? I ask because the cat fish that I have caught in central florida have finger crushing power and I dont see how you could pick them up by the mouth. Here is a link to the catfish that I have caught but it is a little different. The ones I catch are black and white not black and brown.
  2. I see this on lakes all the time it is just the wind blowing in spots you will only see it on a calm day because other wise the wind would be all over. Im not sure how good I worded this but i just woke up.
  3. The biggest bass I have caught out of a golf pond was a 8.5 pounder on a rattletrap. Anyone else think that golf pond bass have longer teeth?
  4. Hey RoLo is Saddle Creek good for bass fishing? I tried fishing it last month but for only about 1 hour and didnt get a bite. I was a little turnd off by the deep water I dont like deep water lol ,But if you think it is good bass fishing Ill have to give it another try.
  5. Yes the crappie fishing is very good, there has been many times that I caught over 100 of them fishing at night in about 3 hours. There is some good size to them to the biggest I have ever caught is 18 1/2 ins long not sure of the weigh After all the hydralla was sprayed and killed/ the bass are not as big as they once were. There are still some good size bass there I hear of a 9 to 10lb bass being caught in tournys every once in a while. There was a 13lber caught a few years back. Last year I caught more bass 5lbs and up than I ever have so eather Im becoming a better fisherman or the bass are getting bigger.(I think it is a little of both). Lake marion can be really tuff if you dont no how to fish it. There were many times last year that 5 pounds would have won a tourny, and then there was others that you would need 20+.
  6. RoLo : have you ever fished lake marion (haines city)? I used to like on that lake.
  7. Haines City Polk Co.untill the last month now Lakeland Polk Co.
  8. ;D ;D ;D ;D Oh, you were serious????? Wouldn't it have been easier just to catch her than to try to "foul hook" her INSIDE the mouth?? Was he waiting for her to yawn or something?? Please tell me you were kidding, please.... Why would he do that if he was already the one on the fish? Doesn't make sense. Im sure that when he said in the mouth he meant threw the mouth NOT INSIDE the mouth. For the second part if he tried to catch her the right way and couldnt he might of got the idea that if he wasnt going to catch her he will make sure no one else will eather.
  9. That should work just fine but if there is to much weight up front you can always add another battery to the back. I didnt have a moter on the back of mine so when I fished I had the battery,me and the plat form and trolling moter all in the front I had to put 3 or 4 in the back of mine.
  10. If I remember the story right,he was fishing a 10-12 ft deep bed and the monster nosed down on his jig,he lost sight of the jig and set the hook.......I cant say that I wouldnt have done the same thing.........if I see a bass go nose down on my jig and then I lose sight of the jig,I'm setting the hook HARD!Whenever your bed fishing and you see the bass go pretty much vertical near your bait,9 times out of 10,you are about to get bit.And I'm sure at that point the dude was shaking like a leaf knowing he was about to battle with a real monster. I didnt realize the bed was that deep but I still wouldnt set the hook just because I couldnt see my bait when you do that you are likely to scare the bass away. I know there are many times that a bass will go nose down and just watch the bait. Anyway I just dont see why so many people what the new record to be a bass that wasnt even hooked in the mouth. Eather way if he tried to foul hook the bass or not it doesnt change the fact that he didnt trick the bass into biting his bait. ps. fbl this whole post isnt directed toward you
  11. Spoken like someone without much sight fishing experience. Hate to break it to you Fl, fish bump and sweep stuff off beds all the time... with the mouth closed. And at 15 feet, I don't care how clear the water is, visibility isn't great. This also could be as simple as the fish's tail hit the line and it felt like a strike. Either way, many of you guys seem pretty eager to trash someone... and I just don't see why. No one here has been through life without foul hooking or gut hooking or just flat missing fish. It happens to everyone, just this time it was with a giant. That's bad luck, and no reason to kick a guy who just landed a 25 lb. bass. Anyone remember this quote: "let he who is without sin cast the first stone" Hate to break it to me lol. I have caught many bass off of beds and I have never foul hooked one of them. Maybe it was a freak thing I didnt say I was 100%sure he tried to foul hook they fish I just said the whole story is fishy.
  12. Throw in the fact that the people on the dock said he missed the fish 4 times and things really get fishy.
  13. Im with avid on this. I also dont see how you foul hook a bass on a bed and not try to. If the fish takes your bait your not going to hook the fish in the side.
  14. Buy a cheap deer feeder the ones that go off at dawn and dusk. Fill it with fish food (pebbles) and soon you will have all the catfish and baitfish you could ever want.
  15. It sure sounds like he tried to snag it to me the people from the pier say he missed the fish 4 time before hooking him. The whole story is a little fishy.
  16. Nothing is ever a sure thing in bass fishing today they might be tight to the cover and for some reason tomarrow they may not be tight to cover. This is one of the many challanges of bass fishing you have to put the puzzle together if you what to catch fish or just get lucky.
  17. That was a easy one for me iv caught many eels but I never had one try to bite me. :-?
  18. windy days maybe?
  19. The jetskis dont bother me as mush as the air boats. > For some reason 95% of them think the have to ride 10ft by my boat.
  20. I havent gut hooked a fish in a long time but I found this article on removing the hook from a gut hooked fish and wonderd if anyone has tried this before? Ill give it a try next time I gut hook a fish and see if it works. http://www.in-fisherman.com/magazine/articles/if2806_HookRemoval/index.html sorry I dont know how to make a live link.
  21. Yes you will see a pretty good increase in speed and will be able to cut threw weeds much easier.
  22. I know in the winter time the florida bass fight a lot longer than when the water warms up .So maybe the warmer water tires them out quicker.
  23. I see a lot of you on here like to make there own plastics ,and I would like to do the same so can someone tell me were I can get all the things I would need to make my own plastics?Thankyou
