Anyone Tie There Own Hair Jigs
Phillip the hair is not "cut" at the hook, the last thing you want to do is cut bucktail at the ends, it is hollow and cutting it ruins what little action it has. I tried a bunch of different ties with silicone and hair and this one produced about ten times better than any other one. I know it breaks all the "rules" of hair jigs, to much hair, to short, but trust me it works and it works good!

Bog Bait Snakes Yes Or No?

Rubber Baits For Football Jig Heads
Check out the Hardy tack craw from netbait, its a really cool little craw bait that when rigged right has the appendages in the rear trailing the bait along the bottom kicking up silt, I have used it a couple times this year rigged on a football jig, and is a producer!

Best Summer Lures?
SPINNERBAIT... sorry was that yelling...lol, spinnerbait and jig would be my go to, also a swim jig with a paddle tail trailer skipped underneath the docks would get thrown in, I personally would save the dingers for a last ditch effort, but I can't stand fishing stick baits, that's just me though

Casting With Current Vs. Against Currect
I try not to cast directly up current, that is an invitation for snags, do what bass thumb suggested and your day will be more enjoyable. As far as if anyone has ever tested the results, I have spent many hours watching smallie behavior in current and I think it depends on the strength of current, if the current is strong they tend to face into it, if the current is weak I think they roam more than anything, but all in all your bait is going to look more natural if you are using the current to your advantage instead of fighting it.

Small Hooks??
I just bought some xps z-pops or whatever, the largest size and the hooks that came on these were tiny, like size 6 or so, I compared to some older models I had laying around and they downsized the hook considerably, they probably got a smoking deal on smaller trebles and are now passing em.

New Series Of Jigs
For the pads I was using a 3" spaz trailer off my website but any 3" or larger trailer you prefer would work, I am thinking a RAGE Lobster would look real good. For the deep Milfoil I was using a 10" worm with about 2" of body snipped off, but any 5" or larger grub, or 4" or larger swimbiat would look real good to, I wanted to use some 5" swimbaits but forgot them in the truck so resorted to the worm and they absolutely killed it!

New Series Of Jigs
For you (and anyone else for that matter) I can do them in any color you want! I have a slight hickup , besides being two weeks out on orders (just a fair warning), I screwed up an order and am missing some skirt colors, they are supposed to be on there way though so I am going to be adding these sometime tonight to the website, I will also be putting them on sale this weekend through the 5th for those that want to order this weekend. I will however not be working this weekend we have a big 4th party at my house and the smoker will be getting fired up on Saturday and will probably not cool down until sometime in the morning on the 5th! The good news is that after this weekend I will be so fat that All I will be able to do is sit at my tying station and tie jigs!!

New Series Of Jigs
Gangley, the ewg hook is the hook that mold calls for, its the hook that I have personal problems with in a jig, I know it works for some people, and it works great for me in a weighted hook, just not in a jig. The 30 degree 3x hook I am using is imho the cats _ss for a grass style head, its stout, sharp and works great for the intended purpose! My current mold is now modified and won't except the ewg hook any more, if there is a push for it I can get another mold and use that one for ewg only.

New Series Of Jigs
We will be introducing a new series of jigs this week and I thought I would give you guys the first look at em. These are based off a stock mold that I modified so I could put a real hook in it instead of the ewg it calls for. They will be available in 1/2, 3/4, and 1oz they all use a 30 degree 3x Mustad Ultra point hook that is stout. I have thrown these the last couple times out and they shined for me swimming through and along deep milfoil, but can also be bombed back into the slop and swum back out, the nice thing about the bigger sizes is I could throw em about 1/2 mile back into the pads and they are heavy enough to swim underneath the pads, this is something the fish don't see that often and is going to be very effective this summer! These jigs are all hand tied (wire) 60 strand skirts, the eyes are glued and then clear coated so they don't fall off, the weedguards are all hand set, these are built to last! there is 18 colors to start with, here is just a little sample! Pumpkin Seed Mistake Chaos Bruise Black and Blue

That is so wrong, I am feeling the love..... you are now retired... but it just puts you that much closer to a nursing home... lol

Northstar Jigs
The finesse jig is more compact and is really a completely different profile and action then a regular jig. For me they are a staple in the summer, I catch more fish on a finesse jig in the heat of the summer then anything else. To answer the question on the arky yes it can do it all, the Alien can to, but if you are fishing a weed choked area neither are my personal choice, the pro grass head is the best in the thick weeds, so yes besides like chunk rock or rip rap and heavy weeds those 2 jigs can do it all, the difference between the Arky and the Alien is the Alien has a 3x hook and is more suited for wood/ sparse weeds or weedlines (plus it stands up) The Arky has a regular wire hook and is better suited towards wood/ gravel.

Trying Jig Trailer Idea.
A jig is more of an impressionist bait, it doesn't look exactly like anything but with different trailers and different retrieves you can get it to look similar to alot of prey. If you want something that looks exactly like a craw check out the huddlebugs they are pretty much spot on, you can also use craw worms from various makes that have a more realistic craw look to them. Alot of people get to caught up in the whole it has to look like this or that, their is a ton of baits that look like nothing in the water but get bit on a consistent basis around the country so you know they work, and a jig can be thrown in this category.

Memorial Day Sale Coming!
Thank you for the order! I have thought about the Biffle type head, the only problem is there is only a couple custom mold makers around if you strictly hand pour like me, and they are not exactly fast on making stuff, also alot of the molds being cut for these try to make use of 2 eyelets that are not connected in anyway, instead of using a through wire design which would be much stronger, but getting the wire custom bent is a bit of an investment (have to get 10000 pieces bent at once) As far as the spinnerbait blades go, I do carry white, they are available in the Burner model spinnerbait, I will have to take a look at my stock and see if I can offer them for all, I will look into Chart blades also.

Memorial Day Sale Coming!
The coupon code is active and that means the sale is active! Coupon code is memorial 15 and this will get you 15% off your entire order! I am also introducing some new items on the website, and those will be up later tonight but here they are now! Now Here is the normal sale disclaimer, I do not keep "stock" I make the orders as they come in and can get quite busy during sale times, so ship times might be up to 2 weeks, I am dedicating myself this weekend to getting as many of the orders out as I possibly can as soon as I possibly can, I appreciate each and every order and make sure that everything is as it should be before it leaves the door! The Spaz line of trailers These are action trailers available in 3" and 2.5" We have worked the better part of this year to get the plastic formula spot on, these have the action you are looking for and are still tough enough they will not rip apart on every fish! They are salt and also have our Garlic and Craw scent cooked right onto the plastic. The 4" and 6" Phat Head Minnow These are designed around our shakey heads, they have a nice fat head that is perfect for screwing the hitch hiker into, the meaty section extends all the way down to meet the hook when rigged on our shakey heads so they hold the hook good, and the worm then tapers down to a nice skinny mid section followed by a slightly fatter rounded tail that has that nice subtle movement you want in a shakey head worm! I tested these all last year (I know its a rough job ) and also caught alot of fish on the drop shot and split shot with this bait! The 4" Fighting Craw This one I am really excited about, these have a nice wide body to giver a nice glide if you want to fish them on a weighted hook, or lighter shakey head, but also work great for punching and jig trailer duty! These are injected with light salt and our craw and garlic scent also! The 10" Curl tail The big brother to our 7" curl tail, these have a nice meaty body for a wide variety of rigging options, and a nice wide tail for lots of water movement! Available in any color on our chart and your choice of salt and scent!! New swim jig colors Kentucky Blue Grass Olive Minnow

Bass Eating Plastics
Completely different environment than a lake, most lake fish (around me anyway) won't see that many discarded plastics in there lifetime. But people also need to remember not to throw their used up plastics in the lake, throw it in your boat and clean it out after each trip!

Don't Let Cheap Tackle Let You Down
loosen the drag and play it out, being around cover never helps, but you might get lucky and have it not run under the dock, or whatever cover is around
