  1. Expensive but happy words...ooops did I say that
  2. livingrubber.com or janns netcraft, been leaning towards net craft lately, they have better pricing, more colors, and better CS
  3. Mr mallard check out the hitch series trailer hitch keepers, they are well worth the money and will save you way more money than what they cost over time.
  4. In this video Brandon is using a Subwoofer or Subwoooofer as he says...lol but he gets pretty good results out of it.
  5. We pour alot, and like goose said after handling bare lead wash your hands and you will be fine. The true danger for lead poisoning for humans is the fumes and ingestion, I take it you are not melting it so wash your hands if you are handling it more than just tieng a texas rig or something. Lead bans are not for our safety its for the birds, they are worried about birds ingesting it with gravel from the bottom of the lake.... funny thing is many bird populations are higher now than ever, including the all precious loon
  6. It is a tempering issue, I just went through the same thing only it wasn't 20 for 20, it was more like 20 in a batch of 500, I also went through the same thing with Mustad 32886 5/0 hooks and for those of you that use that hook you know how stout it is, they were really soft, like take it in your hand and make it into any shape you wanted soft, I poured some dummy jigs with them because the hook looks normal, so next time I am out with my brother in law who never seems to bring anything with him I will throw him one of these to use..... should be worth a laugh
  7. Single tail grubs, paca craws, and 4" swim baits. Lately its been the Berkley havoc grass pig trimmed dwn to 4" and the fish have been killling it
  8. swim jig... no surprise
  9. Hitch series trailer hitches, available now at TW, they are the cats meow for keeping anything attached to a jig! google em or whatever, but don't pass them up as hokey or not working they work and you can move them from jig to jig so a pack or 2 goes along way!
  10. Which diesel did you get? I have been looking at those, I love the other Powell rods so I think at this price point if they are 1/2 as good as the others they are a steal!
  11. Swim jig, goes throught the weeds perfectly, hooking percentage is higher than any of the baits mentioned, you can do an infinite number of retrieves to get strikes, you can also vary trailers for a variety of different looks, by far the most versatile of all the baits mentioned. And you won't wanna sceam, cry, throw fits and generally act like a 3 yr old if you lose it like you would if you lost the swim bait...lol that is how I would act anyway.
  12. That jig pictured has a 60 degree hook and a thick weedguard, it is different then our original swim jig. Most swim jigs have a 30 degree hook (light to medium wire) and a lighter weedguard. IMHO take a look at any of the smaller shiops making stuff, either us *link at bottom of the post, or Seibert Outdoors (*link at side of page) we are both sponsors of this page and put out way better quality Jigs and SPinnerbaits then booyah could ever think of. 5yr olds in Guatemala really dont care about quality, they only care about whether they are getting there 5 pennies a day.
  13. Agreed with Chrisaw, your tackle is way to heavy for light finesse baits, 15lb floro should be 8lb floro on a medium to medium light spinning reel, light wire hooks were never meant for heavier equipment
  14. The hitch series trailer hitch keeper, check em out at tackle warehouse, they are the cats meow for keeping even the most ripped up trailer in place
  15. Football jigs are usually more of a casting jig, they usuallly have a light to medium wire hook, there are exceptions to every "rule" of jigs, my premier football head has the same hook as the premier flipping jig so it breaks that rule. My advice is if you are just getting into jigs is to get some cheaper jigs (like the pro series on my website) and get like 3 different colors black and blue, something in green pumpkin, and then something in brown, get 2 or 3 different weights like 3/8 all the way up to 3/4 to cover all situations and fish them exclusively to get used to jig fishing. As far as spinnerbaits, I am kind of a junkie, I have spinnerbaits from 1/8oz all the way up to 1ozers and about 30 different colors and blade combos, but like Hooligan I tend to throw a heavier model more often than not.
  16. Agree with Hooligan, have a box full of them and wouldn't give them up for anything.
  17. lol at wookie. get a tube tail cutter from lure craft and cut your senkos with it at each end... cripes I can't believe I just gave that one up. There are other mods you can do to plastics, cuts here, boiling water there, jj's magic here. Spinnerblades with swivels attached here or there, its fun to experiment and usually pretty cheap, as said before the LC's and more expensive baits don't get touched but almost everything else does
  18. Berkely hollow belly, keitech swing impact, also going to try the new shiner bait they have this year, and i also need to try the live magic shad, RW swears by it so I know its gotta work! Also as far as single tail grubs go Action plastics mag 5" grub is by far the best out there, the tail is designed to not wrap around the hook which leads to alot less fustration, as far as action craw type trailers Paca chunk gets the nod from me, but I also know great sticks that swear by the rage series, they are just hard to come by in my neck of the woods.
  19. Paca Craw, brush hog, gycb flappin hog, Berkely Havoc pit boss, just some more choices. There are a million different craw creature baits, the Paca and pit boss are going to be your cheapest options.
  20. Riverpro if you are going to go inboard, otherwise look for a used Rock Proof, James River Jet, or Snyder if you could find one. I would stay away from any of the massed produced hulls that they have stucka jet on, especially anything from Tracker, there hulls do not hav ethick enough metal to survive an encounter with any rocks, the others mentioned are made to run over stuff and not take damage.
  21. I thought 2 buzzfrogs or 2 spinnerbaits would be pretty cool. Unfortunately it is illegal in MN so I won't get to experiment but 2 swim jigs would probably be cool also.
  22. yes, all my spro frogs have been trimmed, and that hook looks way to thin and where i fish a frog with that hook would catch way to many pads/ weeds. There are days where they are not really taking a frog, they might slap at it, or just not really trying to take it, they are telling you to switch it up, try throwing a jig, or some type of plastic where they just were, often times they will hit the throw back lure. SO you are basically using the frog to locate the fish and your throwback to seal the deal!
  23. Smalljaw, I completely disagree, and so will many others about your assesment of Owners in jigs, while I feel the Mustad is a good baseline hook for jigs I strongly believe that Owners step it up more than a notch, I have heard the argument before about the bigger holes from the cutting point and in the thousands of fish I have caught with a jig with Owner hooks have never once have I lost a fish and contributed it to the hook, if fish are coming unbuttoned you are leaving slack or letting them jump and shake the hook out, at that point it wouldn't matter which hook you are using the fish will come unbuttoned. The designers of there jig hooks have also taken into account the larger hole created by the cutting point and given the hook a larger barb which also aides in keeping the fish buttoned up.
  24. Check out RiverPro jet boats, they are the preffered method for running the shallow rocky rivers in our area, I used to have a outboard jet, could float in less than a 1' and run on plane in about 4". Have friends with RiverPros and have been in one that launched in water about 6" deep, we were actually dragging bottom when he launched, they get up on plane so quick that it bounced off the bottom twice on the way up but got on plane in less than a boat length. They also have a double 3/8 aluminum bottom that is steel reinforced around the intake. They are not the best choice for weeds or wavey lakes, they also get blown around in the wind something horrible with no prop or lower unit to hold the back in place. but if your goal is a shallow minded fishing machine they are pretty tough to beat
