  1. well on the rage site it is called the "carolina rig superstar" so maybe it will be good on a c-rig deep?
  2. After experimenting around with all of the 700 series Falcon boxes, I've come back to good ole Plano 3700 for just about all my hard baits. The Falcon's just don't hold enough lures for me. Here's my breakdown: Shallow Cranks -- Plano 3700 -- LC RC 1.5 & 2.5 / Rapala DT Fat03 Medium Cranks -- Plano 3700 -- LC RC DD / DT10 / Norman Middle N Deep Cranks -- Plano 3700 -- Norman DD22 / FF Shad / DT16 Lipless Cranks -- Falcon FTO 707 Ripbaits -- Falcon FTO 709 Mimic Flat Shads -- Falcon FTO 705 Topwater -- Plano 3700 The Falcon boxes are really only useful for skinny or flat sided baits to me. When it comes to big bulky lures its tough to beat a Plano 3700. -chris
  3. I don't use them because of the colors, I just stock up on Black and Green Pumpkin, that pretty much covers everything I use. Word of caution tho, DO NOT buy a pack unless you a ready to replace all your lead weights with tungsten, because they are that good. It is a world of diffrence sensitivity wise. -chris
  4. I was hoping you would respond. I enjoy reading your posts on the forum. I'm hoping to go to a system like you use. Let me ask you something, do you have 4 or 5 diffrent brands of crankbaits or do you use say for example, a Rapala DT06 and DT10 depending on the depth and keep a few diffrent colors? Same with spinnerbaits? thanks chris
  5. I was in my boat the other night after a day of fishing putting everything back in its place and was wondering why I have so many diffrent lures. I feel like having confidence in what your throwing is just as important as the lure you are using. Is there really a need to own four diffrent brands of 6" plastic lizards or eight diffrent brands of 3/8oz flippin jigs? Why do I have an entire box full of drop shot lures, hook, sinkers when I NEVER throw a drop shot, in the situations you throw a drop shot I prefer a shakey head?? I like trying out and buying new tackle just as much as the next guy but, I feel like I might be missing out on sharpening a few techniques to the point that I have absolute confidence in them. So, I guess my question is do you guys try to be good at evey technique / lure or do you concentrate on a few diffrent tactics to become great at them? I'm thinking of changing the way I fish in order to progress, taking a step back to take two steps forward if you will. I'm considering streamlining all my tackle and go more towards the KISS ideaology. I was watching Classic Patterns the other day and Terry Scroggins was on there saying that he only uses 5 or 6 diffrent techniques / lures and within those diffrent lures he only carries a couple diffrent colors. Anybody believe this? I'm thinking of this as more of a tournament fishing standpoint. Do you think you have greater success at catching fish if you only throw a few diffrent lures but, you have supreme confidence in them and know the lure in and out. Or do you think you have a better chance if you are just good at a lot of diffrent lures?? I feel like if you are great at a few diffrent lures that cover the water column top to bottom then you can go to any lake and catch fish and be competitive. sorry for the long winded post, this is just something i've been thinking about for awhile. -chris
  6. Might be specifc models / firmware versions / router to modem connections , anything really. All I know is ever since I changed the MTU I can connect with no problems. If I change the MTU back to what it was then I can't connect.
  7. I found the fix!!! Ok, if you have a Linksys router this will work, other routers will be diffrent, but so far I've only seen this problem on Linksys routers. Anyways here it is: 1. Type this into your seatch bar: 192.168.1.1 2. Enter your Username / Password (default is admin for both) 3. On the Setup page you need to change MTU from Auto to Manual. 4. Also, change the size to 1400. 5. Click Save Settings. 6. Go to TW.com and spend a bunch of XMas money, hahaha!! Let me know if you guys have any questions and if this works for you or not. I work at a cable company as a service tech so I knew I could figure it out eventually. Anyways, let me know how this works for you guys. -chris
  8. I have not been able to get on TW.com since X-Mas as well. I have tried my desktop and laptop, IE7 and Mozilla, nothing works. I also took my laptop to work and can't get on there. Interestingly though, if I log on to my neighbors wirelss internet I can get on with no problems. So, I disconnected my router and hooked my laptop directly to my modem and it works fine. I have a Linksys router and so does my work. My neighbor has a NetGear router and it works fine on it and my buddy has a D-Link router, which it also works fine on. So, you guys that are having problems getting on TW, do you have Linksys routers or are your PC's hooked directly to your modem? Also, I can ping TW.com and get a reply from the site, which would mean it should be working fine. Also, I tried resetting my router and that didn't fix it either. -chris
  9. Hey all, long time reader and decided to join the fun. I live in southern Indiana and like to fish Patoka and West Boggs. Been fishing seriously for about 4 years and a little over a year ago I bought a new Stratos 176xt boat. -chris
