Alright Guys, Let me put it this way, without being a wiseass. I have seen a lot of guys on this sight with really stupid shi* and most think because they win a couple 10 boat tx they should be sponsored. I'm not doubting anyone fishing ability or lack of. The odds of one of you guys being on espn competing in the elite series is highly unlikely. Enjoy the sport for the reason you started to have fun not be paid. Yes I realize a couple extra bucks for fishing can go a long way .....just because you were standing next to a pro when he won does not mean you won or in the crowd that does not count either

I love this section of the website! Here is an idea go out and get a job,save your money for baits, boat, etc. the best thing about this sport is getting out there and fishing. This can be with friends, father, kids, whoever. I can bet a paycheck that 99.99% of you will never be on ESPN or other sports channell. So grab your rod, go fishing, and just have fun. I was wondering about the bush and gunpower rivers. When fishing out of those rivers do you have to stay away from the aberdeen proving grounds. I looking to have the bass club I run launch out of these river for next year. Any good ramps or marinas. We are a small club 13 boats. any info will help. Thanks Jeff

I'm looking to buy a gas motor for my boat. Here is a little background. I have a 17 ft alum. boat with a side console and I fish mostly small ponds/lakes under 400 acres.The ponds are all no wake,but we do a couple of river TX. I was wondering how small a motor I can get away with? Would a 20 hp be good enough? This forum has always given great advice. Thanks Jeff

I run a small bass club(16 guys) most have jon boats with small motors. I was wonder if anyone knew of ponds/lakes in Maryland close to Delaware. I looking for more further than two hours away. Delaware is very small and just looking to maybe branch out a little. Thanks Jeff

What size wire should I use for a 24 volt trolling motor? I would think I should use something heavier than what I used for a 12 volt.Thanks Jeff

I have a 17 ft nitro the motor is shot.(110HP) I want to take the motor off and use the boat to pond hop(less than 200 acres).Everything else works fine. If I take of the motor will the back of boat rise up more. I guess what I'm asking is the boat balanced for a large motor. Will I be able able to off set it with sandbags if need be? Thanks Jeff

Quit giving out the good colors lol...........a good perch color crank works nice when the water is stained to muddy. The only color not mention that I like is junebug and bass pro color called okachobee magic the worm is half green punmkin and half junebug...just to give'em somrthing they have not seen

There are a couple guy from DE on here. I run a DE club and we fish all the state ponds more fun and bragging rights then anything else. Most of my guys are from Wilmington with a couple from the Milford area....Jeff

I did the same thing you are doing and the club will be going into it's 3rd year. I live in Delaware and have to turn guys away due to the small ponds and lakes of this area. We do not travel more than 2 hours away and every dollar collected for dues goes back to the anglers in so way.(payouts, trophies and party at the end) Make sure to keep it fun and truly let guys have their say and you will be surprised at the friendly competition the club will have. This sport is not always about 30K bass boats and huge payouts. Good Luck!!!

I fished with ABA for few years and they had a rule that the non boater "must" pay half of gas used on the water. I had no problem with that rule. Now of course you will always have the guys that will travel 2 miles and want $25. I fished with a guy who made a 5 to 7 mile run to fish he found two days before and not only did he put me on fish he would take a dime of my money. I even left it is his truck and he came and found me to give it back. To guys that say well if the boater did not show you would not have a ride. I say if I was not going to the tournament, wouldn't you be going anyway. I can honestly say in 3 yrs of fishing draw TX, only once did I feel taken advantage of, but 98% of the tournament were a great time

Thanks, The lakes I fish are all no wake but it beats using your trolling motor. I'm looking for a 16 to 17 mod v jon boat or a bass tracker style aluminum. I have a 17 ft nitro and when I did river tx it was great . Now with 4 kids and family life the big money tx are taking a backseat. so I started my our club and it's been great. thanks for the info....Jeff

What is the major differances between 12 volt TM and 24volt TM on the wiring side. I know you need 2 batteries hooked up together, but is there a differance at the plug(maybe bigger to hold more amps)

I never purchased a new gas motor before. What price range am I looking at for say 10,15,or 20 HP. This we be for a 16 ft modified "V" jon boat.Also could you give brands that you have had luck with and what brand should I stay away from. Thanks

Just wanted to thank everyone for all the input. We do subtract 4 oz from the dead fish. We only have a 3 fish limit and most of the guys fish out of jon boats.We fish mostly small ponds and lakes under 300 acres and the club payouts take care of your gas back and forth. So we are talking about major here. I just want to run my club the fairest way I can. I guess we will go back in the rules this winter and address it. Thanks again Jeff

We had a club Tx on Sunday. The lunker that was weighed in was dead. I was told it should not count.(for the lunker) I never put that in the rules and each year I ask do we need to revisit any rules. I gave the guy his extra point for the lunker and a few guys ticked and moaned. My only stance was I can't make up rules in middle of the year. This is our 2nd year as a club so I'm chalking it up to growing pains. Do you guys have any rules on dead lunkers?

Everytime I see a post that says you should know the product and use it makes me laugh. Look at NASCAR do you think that they use and strongly believe in every product that is plastered all over the car. NO. The company is paying for that.I remember seeing a car sponsored by Labor Ready. Now do you really think that team owner got his workers from Labor Ready. I never misrepresented myself to crooked creek. He knew I ran a small club and thought I could help drum up some business for him. I was going to get my baits at wholesale price, so he was going to make money on me also. I was going to get break on the price.
