CP, nice job! It's not a matter of whether someone else makes a similar bait or not It's a matter of you taking the time and using your Imagination; chances are there are very few baits that we as weekend fisherman can think about making and act upon that haven't been thought of before. WHEN you catch fish on your bait take pride In a job well done, the creativity It took to do it, and don't worry about the small stuff.

Nitro, try a small(ish) creature bait on a shakeyhead It's unreal! Edit: As for the topic, the bait that always catches me fish when I really need one Is a 4" Zoom dead ringer, watermelon/red teamed with a Siebert Outdoors Zenith shakeyhead.

Siebert Outdoor jigs are simply the best. The price alone Is worth it but in addition they catch fish and Mike Is great to work with! Edit: If you're looking for a great shakeyhead look at the Zenith on his page. It's unreal how nice that shakeyhead Is and the price Is hard to beat.

I used to fish with Mann's augertail all the time.......... I still have several packages and rarely put them In the tackle bag for a trip. They used to absolutely kill the bass.
