  1. I use Power Pro for my braid and as of right now I am using Vicious fluoro. I wouldn't use Vicious on spinning tackle though as it is a little stiff but it is good for baitcasters. I am going to try the 20lb Red Label next to see the difference between the 2 as they are about the same price.
  2. I use a 7ft MH Lightning rod with 50lb braid. I have a Pro Q 7.1:1 reel on it too.
  3. The Pro Qualifier is a great reel with both breaking systems! They are also very affordable.
  4. BPS Pro Series spinnerbaits are my favorite. They are cheaper than most other brands and they work.
  5. Well your sig. of "you want the truth, you can't handle the truth" seems to be in effect in this thread. what a coincidence
  6. What I do when my line is pilling up on one side more than the other, I grab the line in front of the reel and hold it over to the side that is lower and just reel it on. It works very good.
  7. Braid is a must when fishing frogs and toads. Another thing that I think you may be doing wrong is when you drop your rod tip you are letting the line go slack and then you don't get a good hookset with slack line. When you are fishing frogs and toads you must keep your line tight and never set the hook on a slack line.
  8. 17lb. mono and fluoro is what most of my combos have on. My cranking combo has 12lb mono on it though.
  9. I have only had luck with the gulp Minnows. The best way to fish them is to use a jig head and fish it on a beetle spin. it works great in clear water or ponds.
  10. Strike King 3X 7in. finesse worm! Also try out the Powerbait shakey worms too.
  11. Zoom baby brush hog, Zoom finesse worm, and SK 3X finesse worms thrown on a SK shakey head jig head
  12. Try fishing the baby brush hog on a shakey head. It has great action and is my favorite bait to use on a shakey head
  13. I wonder if he had something on his hands when he went to use it. It seems like it is all on that one side where he would palm it and it got onto the reel. That is my best guess to what happened.
  14. senkos, trick worms, skirted chompers grubs, frogs, and beetle spins all work great for me but you can use just about anything and catch fish in ponds. Just remember to use as small of size as you possibly can.
  15. You won't know unless you try it I tried it and I am very happy with it. The only thing that I have found that might turn people away is that the diameter of the line is bigger than usual. If you are going for a line for flipping and pitching then I would go with either 15 or 17lb test. I wouldn't use this line on spinning reels because it is a little stiff.
  16. I know, it's funny. The old lady just doesn't understand what the hell I'm doing in freezing temps casting a jig in the snow. Sometimes I wonder myself, but I have to get my fix somehow in the winter. Nothing to worry about, until you think you start feeling strikes. Whats that supposed to mean ;D I set the hook on a dirt claud because I wasn't paying attention. i was just reeling it in and felt the thump and set the hook and then started LMAO
  17. If someone gives you wierd look or asks you what you are doing then you need to tell them that you are fishing for "grasscarp" and "rockbass" ;D
  18. I don't mean to hijack the thread but I have one question about soft plastic jerkbaits. What is the ideal combo to throw these on.

The main reason why I feel I need to trim the skirt at times is because I feel that the skirt sometimes effects the action of the trailer. If you have many strands in a skirt and you have a trailer that doesn't go passed the end of the skirt I feel that the skirt holds the claws down if they are light enough.
