What Lb Braided Test Should I Use On My Spinning Reel?
I use the 65 for heavy flipping, frogs, buzzbaits, spooks... really anything on a baitcaster! I love it! *Sorry OP didn't mean to threadjack

What Lb Braided Test Should I Use On My Spinning Reel?
My favorite braid. I only have it on one spinning rod in I believe 20lb but it is thin enough that I don't see reason to go down any further.

Denali Or Cashion?
Between the two, Cashion.

What's Your Most Versatile Casting Rod?
7 foot to 7 foot 3, generic medium heavy or 4 power rod. My choice is a Dobyns 734c in the Champion or Fury series.

Sufix Elite Vs. Yo-Zuri Hybrid
I hate saying this and I know everyone else here loves it, but I would be careful of the 600 yd spools of 15lb yo-zuri. I have gotten two and it's been one of the worst lines I've ever used. I used to use the 6lb test and it worked well for me on a spinning rod at the time.

Dobyns Champion Spinning Rod Help
702 would be my choice. The 703 is a great deal more powerful and honestly I fear would be too much on the 1/4 oz baits. 702 will be a great rod for things like cranks.

Dobyns Spinning Rods
Makes more sense that way. He should just get a St. Croix I suppose. A custom would be the absolute best way to go about it I'm sure.

Dobyns Spinning Rods
The 702 champion and the extreme 702dx are entirely different rods. VERY confusing I agree... The DX is a finesse model made for light baits as you noticed. The champion is a much more "appropriate 2 power under the 3. The gap between the DX 703 and 702 is huge in my option as far as power goes. The 703 and 702 champion aren't a crazy difference like the DX rods.

Dobyns Spinning Rods
They all have a cork handle... But the only rods with a foregrip are the swimbait rods, and they are foam.

I'm About To Put Braid On A Reel For The First Time....
I am not a knot expert... But using the trilene knot is great as it doesn't waste much tag end.... And it holds, period. I also use the san diego jam at times just because I tie it out of habit as it's what I use for all other lines.

Abu Garcia Ike Rods, Is Mike Using Them?
I believe there is a big difference in pay from a fishing rod sponsor to an athlete eating McDonald's haha.

Abu Garcia Ike Rods, Is Mike Using Them?
Easy one to use is Byron Velvick. He used his Rogue Swimbait rod to win a tourney when he was on Duckett's staff. Kinda said a lot about Ducketts at the time.

Abu Garcia Ike Rods, Is Mike Using Them?
Everyone take a picture of Justin Lucas' deck when he won the Elite series on the Sacramento River... Prime example of someone using stuff the same as we can all buy. Just because one pro does it, doesn't mean that THEY ALL ARE. There are plenty of them that are beating everyone with stuff right off of the shelf. YES, there are some out there that do it, but it's not NEARLY as many as people seem to think. From the way these threads always go I think you'd be really surprised at how LITTLE these guys care about what rod they're throwing.

What Is A Good Shallow Cranking Combo? Can I Also Use It For Jerkbaits?
What is your price range. To answer your question, I would say the rods are interchangeable.

Dobyns Spinning Rods
Posted August 28 2015 - 05:03 PM I've never used either, but I have repaired a Dobyns. Never a St Croix. The Dobyns cork foregrip was coming apart. Not great data, I admit. But I was not impressed with the workmanship of the Dobyns. You repaired the cork foregrip of a Dobyns... As quoted here. Dobyns has never made a rod with a cork foregrip. I think you were confused or made a type-o.

Favorite Squarbill/ Medium Depth Crankbait Rod?
Favorite for what you described is a Dobyns 705cb (graphite myself, but glass is awesome too). If you like a little longer rod for these, the 764RM is great as well.

Dobyns Spinning Rods
742 would be pretty incredible yes. I'm not familiar with the champions so I'm sorry. You may want to call the shop direct and ask about a Champion series.

I think a good point that goes along here is also that we always have updated products so these answers always change as far as price ranges go.

Best Shakyhead/all Purpose Spinning Rod?
The best for me is a Dobyns dx743s, a little heavier action than some people like but for me it's great.

I don't think he meant anything as negative. I think my posts sounded a bit negative and I apologize for that. Not my intention at all, I love the variety that I'm offered by multiple sites. I didn't mean to disrespect anyone or any sites.

Yes I have, did you read the post that you quoted above? I never said bass fishing, I said fishing. Not trying to argue man, I have spent quite a bit of time on the site. It's a great site I still visit daily, they work hard and provide awesome insight. Sorry if it came across as offensive. Have a good one and good fishing/modifying/purchasing and upgrading. In my eyes we all enjoy the same sport even if we enjoy parts differently than others. Take care

Top Shelf, Newest Thang, Bargain, Last Years Model Fishing Rods?
Correct. Thanks for the lesson. What type of tackle is it though? Is it FISHING tackle? Weird, just seems since they are talking about fishing tackle they may talk about fishing a bit more. I know fishingtackletour doesn't have the same ring to it. No need to jump on here and get smart about it.

I enjoy this board more because I feel there is more diversity versus TT where all they seem to want to talk about is scientific results of a rod... I hardly hear anyone talking about CATCHING fish over there. Just a lot of focus on materials or what metal is in a reel instead of what is caught with the gear. Everyone enjoys things differently though and there's NOTHING wrong with enjoying using the equipment you own. I enjoy mine as well, however I enjoy it the most when it is landing big fish haha.

Old Powell Max Vs Dobyns Fury 735C
100% your choice on that then haha. If I were choosing a frog rod from either the fury line or a powell Max, it would be a Fury 765.
