Dropshot Knot
With fluorocarbon I no longer tie a palomar. I tied it for years with "no problems" and once I started tying a san diego jam my line somehow became stronger haha. For a dropshot with fluorocarbon I now tie a San Diego Jam knot and just keep a longer leader then run the line back down through the hook eye. Even with a great palomar tied well the line that is strong isn't as strong as it is with a great san diego jam. The SDJ knot takes me a bit longer but I prefer the strength myself.

What Knot For Dressed Treble?
Look up "whip finish knot"... or "whip finishing knot" ... It can be tough to explain but it's easy to see if you watch stuff over and over... once you've tied it, it's easy.

Favorite Fluorocarbon For Spinning Gear
7lb sniper from sunline is the best I have used. I've not used Tatsu. Another poster had a good post on the two.

Dobyns Champion Vs St Croix Ltb
Haha can't tell if that's a joke or if it's asking why I haven't been on the boards in a while haha. I think this thread was awesome, I know a lot of folks don't like Dobyns for their lack of sensitivity (I don't agree) but that's all good! The whole workmanship is not something I hear much though. With the cork maybe they just meant the grip on the rod overall. OP: I'm sure by this time your decision has already been made on a rod.

Dobyns Champion Vs St Croix Ltb
Weird because Dobyns has never made a rod with a cork foregrip to my knowledge.

I Know It's Early But
Bass Tackle Depot has a history of kinda one upping the other retailers. Plus the drop ship for that company I'm pretty sure so they should be able to get you what you need.

Question About The Fury
Right on, I think you'd be happy trying one out!

Daiwa Tatula's, How Do You Like Them?
As long as it is comfortable in your hand... It is tough to beat at the prices you can get it for. Great all around reel in my opinion.

Yo Zuri Hybrid #15
I must have gotten a bad spool of 15... but it was bad enough that I will never use it again. Friends were amazed that I casted off one ounce baits.

Drop Shot Line???
Sunline Sniper in 7lb is my absolute favorite. I've not used anything more expensive myself but I really can't find reason to.

Buzzbait Set-Up
Lately I've been using Dobyns 764c, Daiwa Tatula Type R 8:01, with 65lb Sufix original braid. I've also used a 746dx in the past and both work well for me. I don't have problems hooking fish although some people swear to have problems. I don't run trailer hooks either.

Frog Rod
Not sure if this rod has been purchased yet but I have to echo one or two of the posts here and say a Dobyns 736 is not too heavy for frog fishing. It is made for frog fishing. There is no reason at all even in open water to sit there and "play" a frog fish. Take the heavy rod and braided line and put them to use. Start doing things right and you won't lose as many fish, it's plain and simple at that point. We just had a "frogs only" tournament out here on the California Delta, listening to lost fish stories at weigh in was arguably the best part!

Question About The Fury
The 734 would be more along the lines of a MH rod in other brands. The rods are rated differently and the company seems to try to follow a bit more of the "standard" rating by putting "heavy" or "medium-heavy" on the rods but I feel like it never matches up and just makes things more confusing. I am one person who felt like the veritas weren't bad rods at all sensitivity wise. I think the fury is a more sensitive rod myself, but the veritas isn't bad as far as sensitivity goes! Also, I haven't fished many 100$ range rods to be honest. Last time I tried a few were when the St. Croix Rage was just about new!

Elite Pros And The Rods
Truth: Every pro has custom rods on their deck. Not truth.

Good Braid Knot For Buzzbaits
I use braid. Typically I'm throwing the bait around cover. I admit, I will use a mono leader sometimes when on a clear lake with no cover. For the mono to braid I tie a modified Albright knot. For the mono to the buzzbait I tie a san diego jam. 90% of the time I am throwing straight braid. I tie a trilene knot for that. Simple knot, and it wastes the least amount of line each time you re-tie.

Elite Pros And The Rods
The 3M material was used by other companies and changes needed to be made, that is a fact. There is a lot of testing that goes on. The majority of FLW tour level pros and Elite pros use off the shelf tackle. (read: MAJORITY). There are certainly exceptions... Even those with great sponsor packages are using stock equipment that you or I can buy. KVD was given as an example... he is in a league and a world of his own. Not many companies are making things specific for one angler. It's just NOT worth the time. Lots of pro-staff are used for testing, definitely true. Not a ton of them are using their test products in a tournament first thing. That's how companies find out what works though and they are definitely used for testing.

Revo Mgx
I would not hesitate for that price. A buddy had left one in my boat for a while, of course I used it haha. Great reel, can't say I would pay close to retail, but for that price I would definitely put it to use. Very comfortable to me, the body is not the same as the Gen3 revos.

Dobyns Dx763Sf
Valid concern, the 763 is definitely a slower rod than the 742 or 743. The 743 is my personal favorite for what you've mentioned.

Dobyns Dx763Sf
What are you looking to use it for?

Usdm Alpha Sv
%100 respect your opinion and what you want in a reel. I'm weird and almost like the fact their reel was a little heavier... Garcia made their gen 3 lighter and lighter now they don't hold up. I know Daiwa is a completely different ball game but I hope next year we maybe get one a little lighter too!

7.1:1 For Crankbaits?
I'm too lazy to read the other responses but I throw every crankbait I own on a 7:1 ratio reel... I don't have problems getting bit or keeping fish hooked, that is just me.

Your Favorite Frog???
My favorite are Snag Proof Bobby's Perfect, and Ish's Phat Frog. I like white, orange throat, green back... or black/black and yellow!

18 Plus Pounder. Go West Young Man
The fish was weighed on a certified scaled. Regardless if you think it wasn't 18.17 or not... It actually was. Certified. My understanding is the guy didn't intentionally kill the fish, more-so a bad chain of events in a low lake, old fish and time of year.

Jigs... Why Not Red?
I guess it depends where you fish. I'm not a believe in "color doesn't matter". Someone can show me all of the science they want but if I bring you on my boat, and fish behind you while you throw straight black or straight brown... and I'm throwing a color of my choice, we can see how science holds up 200 days out of the year. I just choose to put the odds in my favor, I could care less what someone is "trying to sell me" as all colors cost the same from skirts unlimited no matter the color and it's easy to tie them myself so I'll go with the colors I have confidence in because they have outfished others.
