  1. He got my lure, but not for long! That lure cost me $3.29 at Wally World and I was getting it back!
  2. You are looking for a constant. There are no constants, (rules) with this fish.. Their reaction from one weather occurrence to another, from one hour to the next can be totally different. Bass do not live by any rules other than they need to keep their body in oxygenated water, and eat occasionally.
  3. Gotta wonder how the native Americans did it. ;D
  4. Absolutely: the checks in the mail
  5. You should come here and I will let you guide me.
  6. Don't be so egotistical or fresh. ;D
  7. That's why a square house at the north pole, with windows on all walls will never allow for one to see the sun rise or the sun set by looking out those windows.
  8. The intensive search to make this bass fishing thingy complicated simply amazes me. With the electronics of today, the tackle of today, and the baits of the day, it boils down to find the fish = catch the fish. KISS
  9. "(corolosis) " Does you mean coriolis?
  10. Gnats: nothing you can do except netting - Have been chased off the lake by hydrilla gnats. No-See-Ums: Deep woods off or Cutters
  11. Not everyone loves owners.
  12. Never pay attention to them in that aspect, I purchase, try, keep/sell/trade/trash based upon my preferences. Let me give you an example, let 's say I 'm watching a spinnerbait video of KVD the only thing I pay attention to is the tips and techniques he 's explaining about spinnerbaiting, the moment he says: "here I have this Quantum reel" all I hear is yadda, yadda, yadda ( background noise to which I pay no attention ) until he begins talking again about what I 'm interested in ---> information about spinnerbaiting. Well put, Raul. We can learn from the pros about fishing techniques but I pay very little attention to their product pitches. Check it out. Do you wear Hanes underwear because Michael Jordan advertises it? Do you drive a Buick because Tiger Woods is giving the pitch? Do you eat Campbell's chunky soup because Donovan McNabb and the NFL moms supposedly love it? BTW, I'm not bashing these people at all for pitching these products and making a good living doing it. I just take all advertising with a grain of salt. Research your product and buy what suits you. It's a simple uncontested fact: advertising works.
  13. That should be everyone's goal! "My PB; 19.3 lbs FLMB 12.25 lbs NLMB 6 lbs SMB WRB " Would love to see pictures of some of those hogs!
  14. I had the air conditioning tuned up and the boat sitting at the ramp but no one wanted to fish after the show. A-C system
  15. As is. The new hooks are quite sharp on the Bill Lewis traps.
  16. Look at the number of posts on a weekend and it becomes obvious that the majority are on line when at work. It's the same with other pages also.
  17. A one month old son and a woman that ruled the roost with a 30 pound frying pan kept me from going. Remember this scene!
  18. Night fishing out there is just a bit dangerous and bug laden. There is no light out there so navigation, unless you really know the lake is tough. The last time I was out there late I saw some guys that were going to spend the night. I saw three mosquitoes carrying one of the guys off in his sleeping bag.
  19. Get a scale. Guessing don't cut it.
  20. Things are a bit warm right now here in the sunny south. Temperatures in the low 90's and no breezes make for hot day on the Marsh/Farm but that doesn't stop the avid fisherman from taking a shot at the big bass this lake is famous for. Meeting George Myers of Green Cove Springs, Florida for a 5:30 launch with great anticipation for our day of fishing, we headed south to Farm 13. First stop was the farm's pump house, but no current there. Loads of grass floating across the Farm indicated that the farm's spillway was flowing, but a quick trip there showed excessive debris coming through rendering the spillway an unfishable location. The balance of the day was spent working the old irrigation structures of the Farm. The venerable rattle trap proved to be the bait of choice to cover the most water. Although numbers weren't as high as they can be on the Farm we managed to make a day's catch by putting in the time on the ditches. Patience and persistence as usual was the winning combination. A note about the moving water through the SE spillway: The water which is traveling north from the Ft Drum Marsh and adjoining reservoir, through Ansin/Garcia, and into the Farm is of poor quality. The dissolved oxygen levels are way down, so the flow is not attracting bait or bass to the incoming current. Yesterday we checked the area again but to no avail. We noticed some small bream floating belly up as they washed through the spillway area from the south. Yesterday I had John Engle of Blue Springs, Missouri with his cousin Micky our for hopefully some exciting fishing. The heat was there when we left the ramp and the day became a matter of fighting rising temperatures and a diminished bass bite. We did manage some bass, but results were off. One good sized lady managed to slip away at boat size, (no guess on the size), but decent. The balance of the fish were fair but catching was tough. The sun blazed in a cloudless sky and no breeze to be found, making for a very hot day. Call for summer and seasonal sales being offered! See you on the water. Say hi if you get the chance.
  21. Did you put down the swim senko and throw on some shiners for those 4 fish? No shinners on this boat this time of the year.
  22. What biological textbook did the information that bass can resorb, (it's not absorb), their eggs? Further, what biological textbook or study indicates that one bass can control another's spawn activity by releasing some sort of hormone into the water?
  23. Just an addendum: Today's 1/2 day trip - 4 fish, lots of heat and no wind. With the humidity the temp felt like 100. It just goes to show - even a really good lake can beat you up sometimes.
