Tallahassee Here I Come!
Why would one buy two licenses to fish Seminole? Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (1) Any person having in his possession a valid and appropriate sport fishing license issued by the State of Georgia or the State of Florida may take fish by hook and line or rod and reel in the following described waters: (a) In the waters of and on the banks of the waters of Lake Seminole - Bounded on the west by Florida State Road No. 271, on the south by the Jim Woodruff Dam, on the east by a line immediately east of the Chattahoochee Marina, also known as the Booster Club, running northwest across the lake to the tip of land at the junction of the Flint and Chattahoochee Rivers, west of Spring Creek; and on the north by the Herman Talmadge Bridge across the Chattahoochee River. Refer to green portion of map. (2) Persons under 16 years of age may fish without a license in all of the waters hereinabove described. Any person aged 65 years or older who is a resident of Georgia and who is exempt from fishing license requirements by the State of Georgia, and any Florida resident who is age 65 or older and who has obtained a free permanent fishing license as provided in Section 372.561, F.S., may fish in all of the waters hereinabove described.

im goin to the wachula area next tuesday...
Might be nobody responded because they were'nt quite sure where you were going. I am familiar with Wauchula, Florida. I think the lakes that others might be referring to are Lake Istokpoga, and Lake Walk-In-Water, (Lake Weohyakapka). For the fellow that saw 94 degree water on Istokpoga - you might want to get that temp sensor checked out. Back to the question at hand: Lots of lakes in the Wauchula area including a gem right there in Sebring. Peace river is a great canoeing spot, but not so good for bass fishing.

BEST GRIPPER/SCALE?? What do you use?
I see reference to scale certification frequently - What is the cost of certifying a scale? IGFA will examine scales weighing up to 100 lbs for members at a cost of $30.00. This fee includes return shipment by regular parcel post. If the member would like to have the scale tracked, insured, or returned within a shorter period of time, we recommend that they send a UPS or FedEx label or an account number along with the scale. Certified guides and Captains receive a discounted rate of $24.60. Weigh Stations may have one scale (up to 100 lbs) examined for free and pay only the return shipping cost. As a member, scales that weigh 100 pounds or less can be sent, but few will make the certification. As a bass scale and lip gripper, you can be assured that Boga Grip will.

Worst tackle investment you have made...
Diriculous.

Good BASS Magazines?
"Besides a magazine, what else do you get for becoming a member of B.A.S.S.?" Constant harrassment to buy things - Monthly if not more often renewal notices - Paper that can be tightly wound into a fire log.

Goodbye florida.....hello NC
Three in your immediate neighborhood - Rhodhiss, Hickory, and Kerr Scott Resevoir. Hickory and Rhodhiss are part of the Catawba chain, and in your back yard, and Kerr Scott is out of Lenoir towards Wilkesboro. My son lived in Lenoir and would fish these lakes while visiting. I really liked Kerr Scott.

Full Moon
Had a great bite with C-rigs: nothing to do with the moon but rather it was a matter of keeping the bait wet. Only a 9.5 for the big one today. Getting tired of playing with the dinks.

Full Moon
Attributable events associated with full moon: -the homicide rate -traffic accidents -crisis calls to police or fire stations -domestic violence -births of babies -suicide -major disasters -casino payout rates -assassinations -kidnappings -aggression by professional hockey players -violence in prisons -psychiatric admissions [one study found admissions were lowest during a full moon] -agitated behavior by nursing home residents -assaults -gunshot wounds -stabbings -emergency room admissions [but see] -behavioral outbursts of psychologically challenged rural adults -lycanthropy -vampirism -alcoholism -sleep walking -epilepsy -good fishing -bad fishing -good hunting -bad hunting -romantic feelings If so many studies have failed to prove a significant correlation between the full moon and anything, why do so many people believe in these lunar myths? Kelly, Rotton, and Culver suspect four factors: media effects, folklore and tradition, misconceptions, and cognitive biases. A fifth factor should be considered, as well: communal reinforcement.

Full moon question
As the man said: "Don't overthink it." Dark water = dark colors light (clear) water = light colors The moon has one and one only very strong affect on bass fishing: it bothers some fishemen extensively. Of course as with everything else about this critter there is an exception. Tidal water bass are affected directly by the moon.

Do bass have a 'home'?
A bass's home and territory is the space its body is occupying. They move with the food source, the season, and as whim moves them to do so.

Florida rain
Love the rain: the fishing has been great - Caught during a lull in the rain.

Fishing burn out?
Burn-out in this sport is quite common. Without getting too philosophical: If the fish are the only reason you are on the water, than you won't last long. Learn to enjoy all aspects of this sport. The scenery, wildlife, comaraderie, and self-educational opportunities abound out here, and if you learn to add these aspects to the catching, you will never burn-out.

Max weight and motor for a 14'
With just you, your buddy, and what you have added you are beyond max passenger load. Most 14' boats will max at about 795 total weight if it is a very stable boat. Most 14' V's are not all that stable. You might want to put her in the water and see just how stable she is. Most 14' V's are rated for up to 25 HP, but total weight which includes everything will call for something less.

barometer question
Gas bladder in largemouth bass releases via capillary action. It is a slow system, however they can within reason swim in either direction to feed quite easily.

Speaking of Barometer
So, that's it, and you better believe it. There's some real good hints in that missive also!

I need a new scale
Boga Grip not for sale - used almost daily for the last 13 years and still looks new and is as accurate as the day it was certified by the IGFA.

Bass Profs. Fishing Snakes?
No, it's not a gimmick. That doesn't mean that it's a raving success either.

cleaning rusty hooks?
Two products: Star Brite Hull cleaner - can be gotten at Wal-Mart Sno Bowl toilet cleaner - any super market. Let soak for a short period and then lightly brush with tooth brush: wear gloves because both are mild acid. Also great for cleaning stains and such off hard baits.

fish weight guesstimation
Yea sure - 2 pound dink probably: it was a dink I tell you.

I need a Guide to show me around.....
"If there is anyone in the South East section that knows a guide or is a guide or knows Aquia Creek and would like to take me out cheap or free to show me what I'm doing wrong or not doing that would be great. I know I put "cheap or free" thats becuase I am wasting all my money in Tournament that I obviously have no chance of winning, but I can't stop it's like an addiction hahaha." Sam, you somehow missed that statement.

setting hooks on wacky rigged senkos
Nothing magical, just brands that don't use med sized salt grains. Try an ***, same amount of salt as "you know who", but it's fine grain. You won't be let down, you'll catch the same fish and lose a lot less baits and save a ton of cash. Wrong on the salt deal -

Am I Sponsorable??
There is nothing personal in a sponsorship deal.

Gar & Carp, what are they doing to the bass?
Gar, carp, and cat fish all breathe air through their air bladders as well as respire through their gills. They do not have to be in water that has low concentrations of DO but they can be in areas of low DOconcentrations. When you find them without other marine animals you are more than likely in an area of low DO. There are literally thousands of books out there on ecosystems of the water and its inhabitants on this earth. Waterfall aeration: Aeration efficiency is a function of the number of steps in the cascade, not the height of the waterfall. The more steps, the better the aeration effect. This means that the very pretty "high" waterfalls where water drops from a great height over a single ledge directly into the pond is the least effective aerator. The presence of a waterfall in no way means that you have well aerated water. Also note that a river or stream is but a waterfall with many steps. The wider and shallower the river, the greater the aeration occuring from mixing. However, there are many factors affecting the presence of DO in an ecosystem.

barometer question
Simply put: discard any concern for the barometer. It is something that affects those creatures above the surface such as us. However, even we have to make a drastic change in elevation to be affected by it. The day to day fluctuations of the barometer are miniscule. Water has its own pressure system and fish have a built in system to deal with it.
