The Strength Of A Bass Jaw
Same way that An arm can support allot of weight (ie lifting a 40# dumbbell overhead). But putting pressure in a directed spot ( such as an arm bar) the bone will snap. I think most fish are injured as a result of improper handling and support. An angler that knows how to handle the fish and exert most of the pressure vertically such as J is doing in his pic is fine. But the inexperienced angler will use the same grip and exert more horizontal or lateral force to the fish and that it when the jaw will give way. One way to prevent that either experienced or inexperienced is to hold the fish horizontal with both hands. Although that does lead to the question of how to take the picture:D

The Strength Of A Bass Jaw
Yea he was Pretty rough with that thing. I couldn't tell ya how strong it is but I do know they can break from miss handling. I have been trying ( with good sucess) to make sure that when I handle a fish other than just lipping it in the boat that I hold it horizontally and then the majority of it weight is supported by the belly and not it's jaw Such as this:

Pretty Sweet Deals Made Me Sway
Sounds like you got some good products. But I will agree with BC that 20# yo zuri will be stout. I have some 15 but never used it cause 12 has always been good enough. Also it's not a flurocarbon. It's a copolymer line that is more abrasive resistant and less stretch than Mono but no where near flouro and doesn't have the invisibly either. However it is some great line and will treat you well. Have fun with those new Purchases and don't forget to post some picks when you get to use em!!

Going From Canoe To Mini Bass Boat-- Which One?
The bass hunter i had would fit just fine in the bed of my chevrolet silverado.. Not sure if they a close to the same dimentions or not. I would recommened the bass hunter since thats the one i had but i'm sure the other companies make quality products also. There will not be much room for gear with 2 adults and a dog. Hope it likes to sleep and remain motionless

Pelican Bass Raider 8
I had an 8 ft bass hunter boat.. i'm going on 240 and a friend of mine is close to 300 and it floated fine with both of us in it. I used it mainly for pond management in my field of work but have been fishing in it with some other large guys and never had a problem.

Cheap Rod Vs. Not So Cheap Rod
I used lighting rod, cherry wood, and lower end rods to start . Never had a problem with them. As my fishing ability increased so did the "want" for better tackle. I upgraded slightly on my equipment and was happy with middle of the road equipment ( vendettas ,daiwa tierras, etc.) . I have never been able to justify spending loads of money for one item but if its what you believe you need and what makes you happy fishing with then theres nothing wrong with that. My favorite set-up that i have is not the most expensive.

New Shimano Caenan, Reviews?
Seems to me that with the caenan you are paying for those 7 letters (s.h.i.m.a.n.o) instead of quality components like their other reels have . Just my $.02..

Spiderwire Vs Vicious Line?
Yep I use the original vicious flouro and it coils so much it does look like a slinky. But a little line conditioner takes care of that also its pretty stiff compared to other brands in the same # test but that's not necessarily bad cause I personnaly like it for that reason

Kvd To Flw
I don't think it would change the sport any.. it may persuade a few people to start watching the FLW more ( not that don't already have a following). For me it always seems like something missing in the FLW events...no ....individuality???( if thats a word) ... Seems like BASS is more open to individual sponsors for there pros... alot of pros flip flop between the 2 but for me the BASS tour IS the elite...i compare them to golf like this :for me like the BASS is the PGA and the FLW is more like the European tour....Although i'm sure for others it would be the other way around.

Baitcast Combo Recommendation
The specifics above are what you need for all around good combo. You can get the Academy H2O Ethos rod for 59.99 and pair it with a H2O Mettle reel for 49.99 so total combined after taxes would be around $120.00 and they both have the specs listed above. Also you good get the BPS extreme combo for around $150.00. I think they have a special on a matirx extreme combo for $99 during the spring classic at BPS not sure of the specs , just saw it in the flyer.

Abu Garcia Villain Rods
i fondled one in Sportsmans warehouse the other day. i have to say the thing i like best about it was the reel seat. Very eye catching and comfortable. Its always atleast a year before i even think about buying something new , that way it gives them time to get the kinks out if there are any.

Citica Or Pro Qualifier
If you are already happy with the performance of the shimano line then I would go with the citica. Both are quality reels and neither stands heads and shoulders above the other. It comes down to personal preference when comparing the two. FWIW I use pq's but have nothing negutive to say about shimano citica

Sensitivity, Separating The Reality From The Propaganda
Great Post!!...I have always judged sensitivity of a rod by its weight. as one poster said the less mass a fish has to move the easier it would be to tell if there was on on the end of the line. this is not to say that light rods are the end all be all cause a light rod that breaks on the hookset doesn't do anyone any good. so you must find the correct balance between light and durable.
