Computer Question?
After you uninstall Norton be sure to use the Symantec Uninstall Tool to completely remove all of the cr@p that Norton installs on your system for the cleanest uninstall. The only down side is if your running Ghost, it will be removed as well. As to running without some kind of protection, Not recommended! One good application is Bit Defender, they have a free 30 day trial program, 2009 Internet Security that you can get from their site. After 30 days if you run their removal tool you can reinstall it but you must use their removal tool because Windows uninstall will not remove certain registry files and you will not be able to reinstall it. Download Windows Defender, again, its free and works so why not. Download the free version of Zone Alarm firewall because Windows firewall is a joke Be sure you do Windows updates frequently. A few of the best tricks are as follows. In IE go to Tools/Internet Options/Privacy/Advanced and tweak the cookie settings as follows, Over ride automatic cookie handling. accept first party cookies, block 3rd party cookies, always allow cookie sessions. Create a non privileged account on your system and use that while online. Most of the "bad stuff" cannot run or install without administrator privileged access. BTW, I'm Sys Admin for a major contractor with several IT certifications. If you have any questions PM or email me bassnman mike

Smoothest riding boat in rough water
How is the fishability out of a Triton vs a Champion? Is it as stable or more so?

Smoothest riding boat in rough water
Thanks guys! I have a friend that recently went from a Champion to a Nitro Z-9. He said so far he likes it but has not had it on rough water yet so he cant comment on that. He also said it's "different" than driving his Champion. Another local I talked to said that Bass Cats are pretty smooth but he never had a Champion so like he said, he couldnt compare the 2 Thanks again guys, I really appreciate all the help bassnman mike

Smoothest riding boat in rough water
"Better think about used." Dude, lthats what I said in my post "I would like to find a newer boat" I've looked at the new ones and the wife would kill me if I spent that much, HA! I've got permission to buy something up to the $35,000.00 range

Very nice! I've been considering one of those as a secondary boat for smaller waters. Did you have to modify the frame to include the new flooring?

Smoothest riding boat in rough water
Its me again with yet another question. As you already know I'm in the market for a new boat. I currently have a 1990 201 Champion with a 200 Merc. Out here in CA my local lake gets very windy during the spring and fall, 3-5 footers are very common. the ole Champion handles it pretty good and I would like to find a newer boat that would do well. I've been talking to fellow Californians and am hearing that the Tritons are not all that smooth in rough water. I'm not looking for the fastest boat out there but it would be nice to have a quick boat. I would like at least a 20 footer. Also, I will not spend $50,000.00 plus for a new boat, besides the fact that I feel that is way too much the wife would kill me! Anyhow, which brand would you suggest? Thanks bassnman mike

Triton Owners or former Triton Owners please respond
I currently have a 1990 201 Champion with a 200 Merc, and I love the boat, the ride is smooth, it runs great but the interior is in pretty bad shape, besides that its just old so the wife said I could get a newer boat. I'm looking at purchasing a used Triton, 2000 TR22 that recently has had its motor gone through to the tune of about $2,500.00 and according to a mechanic its in great shape with no issues. The gel coat looks great and there appears to be nothing wrong with the boat. Another nice thing is the colors match my truck so it would look great together! I know, thats a little vain of me but oh well, such is life huh? Now my question, what do or did you love about your Triton and what do or did you hate about it? Are there things I should be aware of, quirks, common issues, etc? If you dont have personal experience with Tritions I would prefer you not to just bash it just because you may think your boat is better. Thanks All, I appreciate any feedback Bassnman Mike

Who lives in Dallas Texas and knows boats?
Hi, I'm seriously considering purchasing a Triton from a gentleman that lives in Dallas, the bad part is that I dont think I'll be able to take the time off to actually go out and see the boat in person, I live in California. Everything I've been told about the boat and the pictures sent it looks like a great boat at a great price and the seller seems to be a stand up guy. He recently had it in for service and gladly gave the name and number of the shop, so like I said he sure seems to be a good guy. I called the shop and was told that the motor was in great condition. The only down side is that the wife is leery of me purchasing the boat sight unseen and having it delivered mainly because she knows I am very picky. Also my sister in laws husband does this type of delivery service, but he wont go to Texas, long story, and he told me that more than once he delivered cars and boats that were purchased sight unseen and he got yelled at by the buyer because they were not happy with the purchase when it got delivered. Anyhow, I was wondering if there is anyone that would be willing to take a look at the boat for me and let me know what they think. I am trusting that you wont attempt to purchase the boat from under me if you like it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Bassnman Mike
