What to do?
Thanks for the info guys. I have some river2sea crawdads that have a weighted tail sit with the claws facing directly up and a hook like a jig would have, would this serve the same purpose.

What to do?
I threw about a 5 inch motor oil worm with a small bullet weight on their beds, becuase I have had good luck with that setup before with bedded bass about a week ago on a different pond in a completely different area. I don't think I left it on their beds long enough then. I won't be fishing these ponds for at least another 2 weeks maybe they will be feeding more actively on their beds by then. Is it just something they do right when they start to spawn?

What to do?
I went fishing today and the fish where I live are just starting to spawn at these ponds that I fish. I literally saw 30-40 2-5 pound bass in about 6 inches of water right on the bank. I threw everything I had at them and the most they would do was follow my bait and then just stop and turn around if they were in the middle of pond and if they were the ones on the bank they would not even look at my bait. It was very frustrating, so I was wondering if there are any baits that would catch them and are they doing this because they just started spawning or what.

California Topwater
Has anyone in california been catching any bass on topwater yet. I have been throwing it every now and then just hoping for a blowup but nothing yet. Just wondering if anyone was getting em on topwater and what your weather conditions have been and what topwater you are catching them on if you are catching em.

Post Spawn
here is a pretty good example of why getting off the bank is a good thing. Although this was on a pond it is still the same concept of trying something new. Me and my buddy were fishing out of a bot on one of my ponds and catching fish off of the bank on chatterbaits and senkos. At about 2 hours of fishing we had about 10-15 fish. I was throwing a chatter bait and then I decided to just turn around in my chair cast at the dead middle of the pond. I hooked up right away. Two more hours later me and my buddy were up over 100 bass with back to back to back fish and what not. It was definently the best bass day of my life and all thanks to a little change up. So just try it for one whole day and stay strong.

New mojo bass rods
I ordered two mojo bass rods, the 6'6 mh for all around fishing and a 7'0 heavy pretty much strictly for frog fishing on the matts. I was wondering who had them or have used them and how you guys liked or disliked them. I got them both for 50 $ each and they werent stolen so i figure I couldn't really go wrong.

good day of fishing
Here is my secret weapon http://www.***.com/descpageSWIMRIVER-R2SVMW.html , it says wake bait, which is why I bought it, however it swims about 6-8inches deep, which is not what I actually bought it for, but let me tell you, It runs great at any retrieve speed, and makes for an amazing jerk bait. I got more in the mail considering I lost it in the tules on my last cast of the day :'( Oh I had mine in chartchuse shad, I am going to try other colors though because I just won three hundred bucks playing texas holdem at the casino

good day of fishing
went out this morning and first thing In the morning I lock up a 6.3 largemouth. My biggest bass I have ever weighed. Throughout the day I caught a 4.11, 4.1, 3.12, and 3.7. Today was probably the day I caught my heaviest 5 fish weight. I only totalled 12 fish for the day but I definently wasn't gunna complain, especially with fish that. If you guys would like to know my pond secret weapon I will tell you, as long as you aren't fishing with me. I caught most of my fish yesterday and all of them today on it. It definently my new go to bait, at least for ponds, but I can see them hammering bass on lakes in the shallows.

Pond slaying
me, my dad, my brother, my cousin and my buddy fished the same ponds as before, all in all we caught around 150 fish so it was even more productive than last week. We caught them on everything we threw, mainly shallow crank baits, but also on swim baits, big and small, creature baits, flukes, senkos, jigs, crawdads, chatterbaits and other baits. It was a blast. I caught a four pounder on a imitation crawdad and one on a shallow crank, my buddy caught a four pound on a jig and five pounder on a creature bait, by dad caught four pounder on a fluke and the rest were around 1.5 to 3 pounds. Hopefully we go tomorow with the weather rolling in they should be even more crazy.

pond fishing report
well me and my dad went out this morning and got to the pond at about 7:30. I first casted a buzz a few times... nothin, then a shallow crankbait... nothing, then I busted out the baby bass flukes and started wackin em. I gave my dad a bunch and he headed down the side of the pond, with he wind at his back, it was blowing about 20 mph and drizzling rain. I decided to stick around the truck and try out more baits to see what they would hit. I ended up catching them on a chatterbait, swimbait, spinnerbait, rat l trap, and the flukes. Between me and my dad we caught about 40 and it is still pretty slow. Biggest one was about 3 and half pounds. Nothing on topwater yet though, also tried a toad and got no hits. Thanks for all the info it helped alot, I just had to try my own thing and it worked. In a couple weeks it is going to be rediculous.

What got you hooked?
my dad got me hooked, but the part of fishing that got me hooked is that it is kinda like duck hunting, the waiting from the time you drop your calls till the time you call kill em. Just like waiting from the time you feel the bite till the time you set the hook, using some baits. It's just that anticipation that got me hooked. Then came topwater and that is a whole different story.

pond fishing
gotcha those are some pretty cool toads too. k with the above being said I like throwing toads over frogs because of the faster pace that you fish them, though I did buy a few frogs with kicker legs that I have to try out because the rage toads get pretty expensive.

pond fishing
man, I just tied on my buzzbait, I might of confused you by saying toads, but I meant huge bass, but none the less, I love throwing the frogs and they also work great on this pond and for some reason I thought the buzz would work early over the toads, but I might have to switch it up cause I like the more explosive strike on the frogs, just curious as to what type of frog you throw, I throw mostly rage frogs.
