Where would you try on this lake??
I just started fishing larger lakes, I used to fish 1,000 acre or less reservoirs... I have been out three times on this lake and have caught two bass... I have only gotten about 6 total bites and have struggled to say the least.... any tips on places to start and techniques?? The lake has rocky shores and some are very steep drop offs... there are some docks as well... read about the lake and see a map here on the Game and Fish website.... thanks for the help.. http://www.dgif.virginia.gov/fishing/waterbodies/display.asp?id=77

Drop shotters.....gather around!
x2 Since switching to a braid mainline, it is like a whole new world. Can someone tell me exactly how to tie the braid to the leader? I use braid on some of my spinners and baitcasters, but never use a leader. I usually just use mono for dropshottin...

Wacky rigs
I use the Owner Wacky hooks and the Gamma ones as well... both work great... I have posted before that I do use hair bands from Walmart... the little black ones that come like 500 in a pack for a couple bucks.... I double it over and it works well for me... I know Wayne is the master at it though and his set up has got me thinking about changing mine this year???

Follow-up Baits??
I had a lot of luck this past year fishing a SPRO bronzeye frog and following missed strikes with a wacky rigged senko.... most of the time if the bass was interested it would be taken almost when it hit the water behind the frog...

Your thoughts on this lure
I saw these in BPS the other day and glanced at it... honestly didnt look like the quality was great on the paint etc... but if you want to try it go for it and let us know... as for the line slipping through you could always put a stopper on your line how ever far you wanted the back lure to fall right?? that might be effective

When to call it quits...?
I am in Virginia as well.... I went this past saturday morning and it was about 35 degrees or so and only got up to around 45... but the water temp was still around 65(give or take)... and fish were still active.... that being said I only caught 5 fish and they were all together... I hardly got a bite the rest of the day after I left that spot... but we were in the middle of a major cold front as well... I really plan on fishing until the water gets below 60 or so... then I am just going to go out on warm days and cast.... maybe catch but probably not!!!

Need trailer wiring help badly.... please......
I decided the completely redo the wiring on the trailer that I bought because it was sloppy and not working properly... anyway... here is what I have a wiring harness that is 4 pin with 4 wires running out of it.... labeled: Ground(white), Tail(Gray), Left Turn(white w/stripe), Right turn(Green)...... the lights that I have two wires running out of them one Brown and one Red..... What do I hook to what??? and what wire do I ground from each light? I assume I will have to run a wire from the Tail(Gray) wire to both lights and hook to one of the wires and then run the turn signal wires to one of the wires and ground one of them..... I am just wondering which wire goes to which one on the lights??? and which wire coming out of the light should also be grounded??? Also the harness that was hooked to the trailer was a 4 prong harness but had 5 wires coming out of it (2 green, 2 yellow, and a white). Do I need a harness like that instead of the one I have with 4 wires???? Please help me out I am struggling with this sorry if it was confusing.... feel free to ask me other questions... thanks.....

Need some help with a frustrating body of water...
I am not going to give up on it because it is close by, secluded and a beautiful piece of water...... however, I think there might not be any big ones in there as some of you have said... but I am not going to stop trying.. I have probably fished this lake 15 times or so and never caught a fish over 12 inches..... again I have never really fished the deep water, but still you would think I would have seen or caught at least one decent fish.... I have also used big fish lures, spinnerbaits, crankbaits etc... I havent flipped to the wood yet and plan on focusing on that my next time out.... what would yall flip? I am not a jig fisherman at all and dont have enough confidence to use that... probably more a creature bait, or worm..... how can I find the best wood on the lake? isolated trees and stumps? deep water trees? someone mentioned different wood from the rest???... I think I dont want to give up on it because I am stubborn and love a challenge, I also just have a feeling about the place for some reason.... yall ever have that feeling???

Need some help with a frustrating body of water...
I need some help with a small private lake that I fish.... this lake has been confusing and frustrating me for a while.. I have fished it many many times during different times of the year with the same results... small fish only... First what the lake looks like, its about 40 acres or so flooded timber throughout the entire lake... the lake is shaped in a large V with the widest part being 100 yards or so.... the depth is average 9 feet or so and ranges from 22' to shallow... there is limited plant growth... but like I said stumps, trees, and limbs everwhere.... both ends of the V have about 100 yards or so of 2-4 foot clay mud bottom.... there are several coves that have 7-9 foot channels going deep into them.... I went today and fished one side of the lake for about 4 hours and caught 4 small fish and missed a few others that were small... these are really small fish like 8-12 inches max.... some of the fish that hit the lures cant even get hooked... is it possible there are no big fish in this lake??? the lake is at least 30-50 years old... I have tried pretty much every lure from cranks, spinnerbaits, shocks, worms, etc..... I havent focused on trees with a jig yet, but I just feel like I need proof there might be fish in there worth looking for to take my time throwing a jig at trees..... sorry this was long this is one of those lakes you want to give up on, but something keeps pulling me back to it.. all the cover, etc it just feels like fish..... maybe the lake has just died out??? how would you approach it??
