  1. That happened to me and a couple friends. The boat was trolling for trout within 25 feet of the shore. The guy I was with cast his line over the guys that were trolling and snagged up alll four of their lines and pulled the in.
  2. I got the boat out today and went fishing by myself. The ramp I launched at has 12 lanes with 2 docks. Guess what. When I came back in the docks were taken up by people that were just siting in there boats talking while they waited for the trailer. And another thing. Whiler driving home on a 65 mph road I was in the slow lane driving 55. I caught up to a car in my lane driving 45. When I tried to pass they speed up to 55. That just ticks me off.
  3. Brush Hog is my #1 go to bait. But I usually fish it Texas style with a pegged sinker. When I put it on a jig I will start with the standard brush hog if using a skirt. If not using a skirt I may size down to the smaller hog.
  4. I know this has nothing to do with fishing but I hate when my girlfriend squeezes the toothpaste tube from the top. I know, its not that big of a deal but it drives me crazy and now that I told her, she does it on purpose. And for a pet peave in fishing. People at the launch ramp. You know who you are. You have 2 or 3 people and you take up the dock and sit there while a person by himself is waiting to launch. When I have someone with me I get the boat away from the dock as soon as it is off the trailer. Even if my partner has to hold the boat and wait for me.
  5. I don't see why people are making a big deal about a woman being in the classic. 95% of bass fishing is a mental game. But I don't think it is fair the way she qualified for the classic. If the women want to play with the boys for the big money they should have to fish the same tournaments all year to qualify.

Thank you Skeet for bringing the trophy to California. This just proves that a Bass is a Bass anywhere you go.
  7. There should be a penalty for mishandling the fish. I saw that clip also when he was culling and had his fish laying out on the floor. I don't know about you guys but I weigh the fish when I tag them and put them in my livewell. This way I know which fish is the smallest.
  8. Wecome. For learning this is the place you want to be. Ask all of the questions you have and you will find answers here.
  9. This is a very good question and if anyone has an answer that works everytime tell me too. I have a couple old roadbeds in the lake where I fish. The problem is there are changes throughout the day and the season. Antytime there is a change the fish act different. I will usually start to fish paralel with the road edge with a deep crankbait on the shady side. Try to find a cluster of rocks or a hump that stands out to give the fish a place to hold. Then I go to a texas rigged brush hog or a jig. Other considerations to remember is what color and temperature is the water. GOOD LUCK
  10. The waters/ponds I am talking about are here in the Fresno area and Northern California. There is a series of ponds here that were privately owned for generations and now the department of fish and game along with the San Joaquin river conservancy own and they have closed them to the public.
  11. I disagree with rules at alot of the waterways in California. How about water/ponds and property owned by department of fish and game that is supposed to be for public lands but they put up a fence and post it no tresspassing. As far as Diamond Valley reservoir just be happy it is open for pubic use. Complain too much and they will close the gates and you will not be alowwed in there at all.
  12. I have been dropshotting for two years now. I use it everywhere I go and in all types and depths of water. After you do your research and learn tecniques there is one thing you must do. Be patient because it can be a very slow method of fishing but when you do find fish it will be worth it.
  13. One of my favorite rods I have is a Shimano Compre, 6'-6" medium action cost $90.00 I use a Shimano Symetry 2500 reel cost $80.00 this is a very good setup. And the Shimano rod has a lifetime guarantee. For the price and warranty this is the best thing on the market.
  14. Don't feel bad. I have weighed in several fish less than a pound at tournaments.
  15. Hello everyone. I am new to this site. I am from California and hope this will help me catch more fish.
