  1. Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I was talking to a guy at our club weigh in yesterday that told me his brother was selling a Legend Extreme 7' MH (split cork grip not the new one). I stopped by on the way home and bought it. I guess the rod gods only want St. Croixs in my boat.
  2. I am in the market for a c-rig rod for 1/2 oz or less. I have always been a loyal St Croix fan and was considering another LTB 7'1" M but am thinking of trying something new. I am currently using an Avid 7'M and it's a great rod but I'd like a lighter and more sensitive rod and the the LTB isn't much lighter. What do you guys suggest in the $300 or less range?
  3. I had the same issue with a 90 HP v-4 and found it was a bad fuel pump diaphragm. Does your bulb stay hard?
  4. Try Owner's Sled Heads. They all all I use for a shaky head anymore because they come through cover so well.
  5. My favorite crankbait is the SK 2.5 silent. I replace the hooks and I file the edge of the lip to make it deflect off wood better. I have had several 50+ bass days throwing them in the spring.
  6. On mine I had to remove the mounting bolts to move the engine back a 1/4". The mounting plates go between the engine and transom.
  7. You could try reading the owner's manual for your FF. If you don't have it download one from Eagle's website. Learning to operate and interpret a fish finder is more info than anyone will post for you.
  8. Make yourself a depth finder. Mark a piece of string in 1' increments and tie a weight to it. I used to use one when I was a kid to find ledges to fish. Also you can troll a crank bait searching for fish. This time of year they school up so if you catch one stop and fish that area.
  9. I know soft plastics swell when left under water for long periods of time, do they swell at the same rate in a fish? I have a brush pile behind my house and every year when they have the winter draw down I find 6" dead ringers that I lost that are about 18" long and 1" in diameter.
  10. The front is actually a bait well so I would make the divider if it was mine. I would also fix the bait well pump because I'm OCD and I couldn't sleep at night knowing it doesn't work.
  11. Don't know about black but the black emerald are my favorite.
  12. 7' and it's not very wide.
  13. I have had 2 370's and a 373 (same boat with dual consoles). They are great boats, smooth ride, good storage, and rock solid. The only draw backs to a 370 is the small rod locker and smallish front deck but you can buy or make a drop in extension to solve the problem. If it's the original trailer it's a 2" ball.
  14. I use an Avid 6'8" spinning rod for senkos and flukes and love it. I have a Avid 7' M and it's a good rod but I like the XF fast better for twitching.
  15. I have an older pontoon boat and the aluminum is dull and spotted. It looks like someone tried to clean it in the past but the cleaner just dulled the finish. What's the easiest way to shine them up?
  16. My new boat has 2 PP 8' and I wouldn't want another boat without them. I fished a tourney in January with 40mph winds. I sat on top of a point the whole day fishing a jig into the wind and never touched the TM. They are kinda in the way for anyone trying to fish from the back deck when up but you can lower them if needed.
  17. x2 I have the Avid MM and it's really too light for anything over 1/4. A 1/2oz trap would hit you in the back on a hard cast.
  18. Check ebay if you're really concerned about cost. I bought a NIB Curado E7 last week for $120.
  19. I have 2 side imaging units and love having that advantage. I have a limited amount of time on the water and prefer to locate fish as quickly as possible to get the most out of every trip. I enjoy knowing there are fish in an area and then trying to figure out what lure/presentation combo it takes to get them to bite. Unless you're fishing from the bank using a cane pole and a hook you carved out of bone you're being a little hypocritical.
  20. I have 2 St Croix Premier crankbait rods and love them both. i have the 7'M and the 7'H. I think the Curado E7 is too fast though. I use an E5 on the heavy rod and a Curado B (6.2) on the lighter rod.
  21. If you can't straighten yours, you can buy a new shaft for about $50. It shouldn't take more than about 30 minutes to install.
