  1. Not sure how they rate with other batteries. But I have been using one for starting and the larger one for trolling motor going on the third season and I have had no problems. Yes expensive but I think a little less money then some other brands. The main reason I went with them was the convenience of not having to add water . Opening the compartment and then having to remove the battery box cover was such a pain. Also installed an on board charger last year so do not even have to hook up cables. Just plug in the ext. cord when I get back from fishing.
  2. bassinCPA What is the colasped length of the go get it for storage or transport purposes ?
  3. I'm in !!!!
  4. I use the cable ties, inexpensive and then a wrap with duct tape over the tie to keep it smouth and less likely to catch on stray grass and weeds especinaly on the lower ones below the water line. The cable tie and cable tend to rotate around the the trolling motor shaft during use. the tape prevents that also.
  5. I have not used any swimbaits myself. I saw that show also. Will be interesting how you make out. good luck please keep us posted.
  6. Try searching on Iboats.com for info on power trim / tilt pump wiring diagrams etc. You do not need to be a member to just search the forum.
  7. Awsum Guys! Keep us posted !!!
  8. Sugest that you pick up a map of the lake at Northern Bass Supply. sounds like a great get away. Good luck.
  9. I am not fimiliar with what these seats look like exactly. But my sugestion is to drill through the hole completely making a clearence hole and use a carriage blot with a nut and lock washer. You can ues a square file to make the top of the hole square to match the carriage bolt and so it will not turn while tightening.
  10. I have not been up that way for about 10 years. I have fished Arrowhead, Mousam , Great East and Horn Pd in your area I recently retired (2 1/2 yrs) and getting back in to the fishing again. Fishing mostly in soutern NH now closer to home. I used to work in kittery and from sothern maine originally.
  11. Hey keep those reports coming !!! Please
  12. I mounted my onboard charger under the console of my alluminum tracker. Reason #1 space limitations in the battery / fuel tank compartment. #2 manufacture recomends open space around the charger for cooling purposes. I lengthend the leads for the battery and snaked them in under the deck to the compartment. I also lengthened the 110 connection. I ran that forward / under the deck to a receptacle on the trolling motor plug receptacle panel at the bow. I love the convienance of the connection and it works great.
  13. Thanks wayne P. that is the same measurement of My Pro4300.
  14. What diameter is the shaft on a motorguide trolling motor which mounts in a gator mount. I have a Pro4300 and the bow mount is very loose and rocks/bangs around while using the trolling motor. So I am wondering if the Pro4300 will fit the gator mount.
  15. I have not tried this but I would think a regular jig would work. Mayby even a drop shot rig with a heavier weight. How about a heavy texas rig. Please keep us posted with what works for you. Good Luck.
  16. Txs17 you are not the only odd man . I have the same type of boat and load the same way as you. The real key to an easy load is to have a ramp with the right amount of drop in the water. Some ramps are just to shallow.
  17. Ok guys I watch all the bass fishing shows ( except Charlie Moore ) and the pros are always taking about the shad. So in our north eastern lakes / ponds ( Maine, New Hampshire, Masachusetts and Vermount ) what are the spieces of bait fish that are comparatively the same as shad and we should be trying to match or locate. I just find this referance to shad all the time confusing to this north eastern guy. I guess small yelow perch would be considered a bait fish. Some of the coastal lakes in Maine do have herring.
  18. I am looking to buy an onboard battery charger. I have noticed on the forum that Dual Pro seems to be the way to go. My question is on the Rs 2 model for 2 banks ( battery with a 6 amp max charge each) cost is about half of the pro model. So has any body had experiance with the Rs 2 model ? Sugestions on other models / brands welcome. I am a recreational fishermen mostly, seldom fish 2 days or more in a row. But retired now and hope to go bass fishing more often especially this spring.
  19. Hello NH fishermen. Dose anybody know if Patuckaway lake is free of ice yet ? Also I do see much talk of people fishing there. So is a it good fishing spot or not ? I went there several times last year late summer and did not do that well my self but that could just be me.
  20. NBR What did you get for an onboard charger ?
  21. I have a sears portable charger. I purchased last year and i am pleased with it. I also am using the platinum marine batteries. The charger cost about $100. I want to get an onboard portable charge for 2 batteries just for the convience of not having to hook up the cables all the time.
  22. Thank You Glen for this interesting interview.
  23. I received the tray yesterday and installed it today. It was not dificult at all. It comes with a paper template to lay on the deck to make the cut out. on my boat there was a rod storage tube under the deck just about on center of the cut out. I had to cut down into the pvc tube about 1 inch deep to acomadate the depth of the tray. I think a rod will still slide into the tube ok. But will have to try that tommorrow. Also there was a storage hole for sliding the stern light pole in to in the cut out area also . So have to find a new storage location for the pole. Those 2 obstacles where not a great concern to me . I have a motorguide. The only thing about the troll eeze tray the woulkd be beteter to me is if the the angle in the front of the tray was not as steep it would be better with less bend on the contol cable being down in the hole. the contol moves freely enough .
