new from France
Welcome, Sebastien! As Roadwarrior stated, we have a number of members in Florida that will be able to help you out. I'm really looking forward to your input about bass fishing. What is the bass fishing like in France?

Jigs & Senkos........
I think the removal of the jig would have the most affect, even without including chatterbaits, etc. In the tournament results that I read for the Elites, you don't see a lot of big sacks with the Senko type worms, but a lot of guys are doing it with the jig. Now it might be a different story for local tournaments. I'm not a tournament fisherman but I catch most of my larger fish on lures other than senko type worms.

Transom saver necessity?
I always liked for my transom to flex. It makes it easier to squeeze between trees.

Cabelas Prodigy Reels
Muddy, is yours the one with the 5 ball bearings and 1 roller bearing with the 6.2:1 gear ratio? I'm not at home where I can look at mine but I believe these are the specs on it. I can't remember what I paid for it but I know it couldn't have been more than 50 - 60 dollars, if that. I've really enjoyed this reel.

Cabelas Prodigy Reels
Though it's not a Prodigy, I have a Cabela's Tournament ZX baitcaster that is 5 years old and I believe it was manufactured by Pinnacle. I clean it regularly (once a year) and it still works great though the white finish is showing quite a few scratches. It has been a great reel and I see no reason why I won't be using it in 5 more years. I believe this reel is very similar to the Pinnacle Janis. I think if you take care of the BPS and Cabelas reels you can't go wrong. They are very good buys. (And I'm a Shimano lover.)

HELP!!!
Are you sure you want to cut it off at Tennessee? I would contact Randall about some Georgia bass. He's posted a lot of huge bass and some DDs on this site.

Old Gasoline
How old is too old . . . 4 weeks, 6 weeks, 8 weeks, three months? And if a tank is almost full and treated does the same time period apply?

Hello from Illinois
White Bass 08, if you're fishing for bass in the Big River I assume you live up near the locks? I grew up in Southeast Missouri about 10 - 15 miles from the Mississippi River. We fished a lot of sloughs and blue holes off the river back in those days and caught a little bit of everything. It's a different world from the locations that I fish now. Welcome to the community!

Kansas City fishing help (in March)
I'll throw in another vote for James A. Reed if you can only fish from the bank. I haven't been out there in awhile, but I believe they had small jon boats to rent in the past.

Rick Clunn in a Tracker!!
Until you pop a hole in it. I've seen plenty of guys run right over big rocks in aluminum boats and keep going, I'm not advocating that but can tell you one thing, if you did the same thing with a glass boat it would put an end to your day really quick. True, but the chances of me popping a hole in it are slim. I fish many lakes with stumps just under the surface, some of which can't be seen. When you're in an area like that you're not going to drive fast enough to pop a hole in the boat whether its aluminum or fiberglass. Why would anyone drive through an area like that at a fast speed in any boat? That's a good way to take a dangerous spill. In the lakes I fish, once you pull out of the boating lane it's time to slow down. That's why it has never made a difference for me. The only time it could make a difference would be if there were an isolated stump next to a boating lane but in all my years of fishing I've never hit one of these though I know of a couple of guys who have.

BPS Pro Qualifier vs Citica 200E
-nick-, as you can see there are reasons to buy either of these reels. Why don't you attach each of the reels to the rod you are buying and see how they feel in terms of balance on the rod and fit to your hand? Personally, I like Citicas but that's because I've had good experiences with Shimano. For you, the choice may be completely different.

Guess Who?
Thanks for clarifying where that other hand was, BassnMan Mike. I was hoping you weren't giving him a love pat.

Rick Clunn in a Tracker!!
For getting into stump filled backwater areas a small aluminum boat is the ticket and, from what I've read, there are a few pros who think the Red River Classic will be won in one of these areas. For the sake of debate, I used to own a 15 and a half foot fiberglass boat with a 70 horse motor and I could take it anywhere an aluminum boat would go.
