Going against the grain- Elite Sportsmanship!
They are no different than any other human being in that position. They are paid lots of money to represent their sponsors, so only a fool would display poor sportsmanship in my opinion. Sponsorships are their bread and butter. I'm sure for most of them its sincere, but the point is you never know when money is involved. And that's my cynical comment for the day.

powell max casting rods
Powells are very nice rods and for the price they are hard to beat. I have the following: 683CEF 684CEF 684CB 703MEF This is their website: http://powellco.com. I live in Kansas City and when I first bought one of these rods about three years ago, the only dealer near me was Sportsman's Warehouse in Wichita, KS. Now Cabelas in KC and the local baitshop, near the lake I fish most often, sell them as well.

Rapala Clackin' Rap
From the threads posted so far, it doesn't appear that we have too many real life experiences with this bait yet.

What is your favorite fishing situation?
Any situation that includes seclusion, forested hills, active wildlife, and the catching of good numbers of fish with a few big ones thrown in for good measure.

Bassmaster classic - Media Day - Pictures!
I agree. I'd really like to see him win this thing. That would be too cool! I think it is unlikely but what a big story it would be.

Rapala Clackin' Rap
I think the link about 2006 is a typo. It's marked as new on Rapala's site. Here's a Tackletour link. http://www.tackletour.com/reviewicast08rapala.html

Rapala Clackin' Rap
I just googled this and found a link that is titled "What's new for 2006." It has a slightly different shape when compared with the rattlin' rap and uses a single steel ball and external metal disks to create the sound. I wasn't aware of this lure.

Cant decide on a reel
Use the analytical eeny, meeny, miny, mo method. I would choose the Citica but I'm a slightly biased Shimano guy.

Hi All
Dave, dig in and learn. There is a lot of information in the articles and in these forums. I'm sure you'll be catching more than "very little" in no time. Congrats on the five pounder though!

Jig Trailors
Yum has some black trailers with blue flake that match the blue/black jigs I use quite well. You could also try this site where I buy my jigs: http://www.custombassfishinglures.com. Click on Bassnacks in the left column. I've heard good things about these trailers but I haven't tried them yet, though I should have an order coming in soon. The guys who make these jigs and trailers are members of this site.

BassResource at the Classic - Pictures and Video!
Thanks for the mental picture, Sam. I think I'll have to put lunch off for a couple of hours as I just lost my appetite. Excellent pictures, Glenn!

Why are aluminum boats slower than glass boats?
To add to Wayne P.'s post, when you're up on that pad you shouldn't be plowing anything and if you push it until you chine walk, you're barely touching the water. If your motor is below the power specs for your boat, then you could plow the water somewhat when you get up on plane because the motor isn't able to lift the bow and midships out of the water.

Favorite Braid (poll)
Deja vu. This poll looks eerily familiar. I believe I relive this moment twice a year. I once voted for Power Pro. I tried Suffix two years ago and that relegated Power Pro to second place. For the last two years I have voted for Suffix and it still works for me.

first try with circle hooks.
You managed to get this nice one? You always manage to get a nice one! What a hog!!! I'm with the guys guessing around 9 lbs. That's a sweet fish.
