  1. When is the last time you got the Curado oiled? I have a 200E5 Curado, and 2009 Revo Premiere. The year old Revo is super light (6.35oz.) and I am pretty sure it is the same reel the earlier guy said it was $179. I love both reels, each are phenomenal reels! I can cast a lure farther then ever on the Revo, but the Curado just oozes quality. Either reel should make you happy, goes with personal preference from this point. Good luck!
  2. I have a three year old pro lite. It has been a good reel, but the casting control is nowhere near my Abu Garcia Revo Premire or Curado. I does not give me the confidence to throw lighter lures. I mainly got it to get a taste into the low-profile baitcasting reels.
  3. It does not sound like you are over reacting. Besides, nothing wrong with getting your equipment checked. If you say hear a noise on your car that sounds weird, are you going to keep driving it around until something breaks? I have dealt with Falcon in the past, and they were great to talk with. But, it sounds like you are over Falcon rods so, sell them off and be done with them.
  4. Thanks for the link. It looks like Case has the better deal for your $$ in the long run. Other then that, they look identical.
  5. yep, that is the line. I loved it, but I was using it on ultra-light tackle fishing small. But, using logic and noticing it is no longer made, I am sure it was really not a good line in the long run.
  6. Do you have a link to them? I am desperately wanting to try some snakes this year, haven't used them in the past. All I have been able to find is some Case Plastic snakes http://www.caseplastics.com/case/index.php?cPath=27_73 I have not tried these out, but maybe as another option.
  7. yeah, that is great line. I wish they would make the XTEX Yo-Zuri line again!
  8. Ok, I used this spinnerbait Sunday and it came back with no blades on it. A $7 spinnerbait that did not come back with the blades. (I am going to try and upload a pic I took of it) Picture did not work so, I am uploading the page from BPS, it has a terrible rating, hahaha http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_74327_100006001_100000000_100006000_100-6-1 Stay away from these lures!
  9. I live and work in Newport News so, I am a little fimilar with that area, but I mainly fish NN area lakes. From what I know, try Lake Whitehurst down there in VA Beach area. It is on the shallow side from what I hear Also, check out www.bassjons.com which mainly deals with Suffolk/Cheaspeak areas. But, a lot of those lakes are 9.9 hp limited jon-boat places. I have not fished Lake Trashmore because Mt. Trashmore is a garbage dump with grass over it.
  10. Yes, Money Minnows! I saw some yesterday next to my tackle box, and I thought to myself " I was such an idiot for buying those!"
  11. I would say Crucial rod, the Cumara is a little outside the price range you mentioned. The Crucial is a fantastic rod so, not to diminsh anything from it.
  12. He is not kidding about those small white grubs! He whopped up on me one afternoon with those. Sam, caught about 7, I caught 1, ugh!
  13. I think I found a new career, painting fishing lures, LOL! REALLY $32 for a lure. I will sell that guy my Curado for $500, light use due to my lack of being able to catch bass.
  14. Sorry, my mistake. I was going for the Lets Go HOKIES! chant. Yeah, I dont have a boat, yet. But, saw you were from VT. my mistake for getting your hopes up, should have been more descriptive.
  15. Lets go...........!!! ( I graduated from there in 2003.) Are you a part of the Bass club up there?
  16. Mojos are very popular! I got a buddy that has one, first time out using it got a 5 lber. Did you check out www.***.com ?
  17. Great thread, I am also looking to get a worm rod. But, I am looking at a Shimano Crucial 6'-6" 1/4-1/2oz. M rod. I love the Shimano rods, very sensitive!
  18. That is kind of weird, the website. I dont need a website to hunt cougar-poon. I just have to find the bar in town that serves Zimas, Smirnoffs, and Comos. hahahah
  19. The snakes might do better in the fridge, ROFL stuff there!! I might have to find my flying lure and try it again, but if I do catch something on it I am not admitting to it. Not eating my own words.
  20. (Public service message interuption sound) Ok everybody, presently it is snowing here in Newport News VA. But, after getting off the phone with my Aunt in Richmond she told me about the awesome weather coming up the next 7-8 days. Sunday, here in NN, it is predicted to be 57, then 62 Monday. Spool 'em up!!
  21. 619, Have you fished, what is it Whitehurst lake, there by the Norfolk airport. Looks great, but I heard it is shallow.
  22. The fishing is actually great! I did two times, I think it has been open for two years, but anyhow. The smallest fish caught was a 2+lber. (6 total caught that day, largest was in the 4lb. neighborhood) SOME SERIOUS QUALITY FISH IN THERE!!! Worth the drive from Glouscter ( I cant spell). If you do go this summer send me a PM before hand and I will tell you what I know/learned from there.
  23. @Carrington, I am from Richmond, do you know what the temp of the James or Swift Creek Res. is now? Trying to gauge things in Richmond. Thanks
  24. Theres a few stations in the Dallas area that ask for language choice. WOW!! not surprised, but still you know?
  25. WHAT!! really, I have done well on those. But, mostly catching pike. scares the hell out of bass that lure is to bass as insane clown posse is to a wine and cheese dinner party. yup pretty much clears the room. HAHAHAHAH, that is awesome! (putting that one in the memory banks for later use.)
