  1. WOW!! I hope he gets a free lifetime supply of those lures now. That is a true monster bass!
  2. ICE in the guideholes on the rod, that is true dedication!
  3. Sorry weeds, but this just in Spring is not coming until June. It is snowing here in Richmond, again! Ugh, stupid winter needs to go away!
  4. Go down to 42nd street park or Texas beach area near Hollywood cemetery. Pony Pasture has too many people out there. Maybe, try going down to the end of Landry dr. a few miles south of Pony Pasture. As for fishing behind James River High, too many recreation boats and jet skis in nice weather. Another point, if you go in at 42nd street, you can wade up to the Chippenham bridge from there! it is a long way, but you can do it. Or, you could park in the neighborhood there off Forest Hill Rd. right as you cross the train tracks past the golf course heading into town. There is a small subdivision across from the equal distance where the toll plaza is. Park there and walk down the train tracks that parallel Chippenham. When the tracks bend off to the right, start looking for paths down to the river. Secret spot, got a nice 3 lb smallie out of there on a crawfish jig.
  5. Nice Sam! We are not getting started on this wacky worm fishing thing either! I got the message and should be at the bass club meeting tonight.
  6. I agree, that is why I want a Booney style hat. All that sun on the back of your neck and ears could not be good in the long run and I plan to fish a lot. I did a quick search for the Seattle Sombero, it looks like cost is about $54. A little rich for my blood, might go with a $20 booney hat and scottguard it instead.
  7. Ok, lets hear it. Who do you think is going to win today and make it to the SuperBowl? I got the Steelers and Green Bay winning today. (I am not really a fan of either team just to let people know.) But, should be some good games today and cold! I think the game time temps for both games are going to be in the teens.
  8. Good point! I was wondering the same. I have a ton of cranks that rattle, but not sure when, or where to use silent cranks. Thanks for the advice.
  9. Yep, that is what I am looking for! Thanks!
  10. HAHah, yeah it does! Too bad on the mailbox thing.
  11. Yes, I saw the roboworms, but still have to use them so, I jsut shrugged my shoulders and walked away. YEp, I saw Woo, did not speak with him, he was headed somewhere. Yes, spoke with VDGIF, but it was about trout fishing in the Jackson River. Yes, spoke with the Diawa rep, but you know I am a Shimano man. Also, I saw the other boothes you mentioned ealier, maybe I should have gone with you instead of my dad and uncle (who does not fish). :-/
  12. I am surprised you did not mention wearing yellow and purple to help me catch more fish, hahah.

  14. Hey everyone, I got a quick question. I am looking for a good fishing hat. I would prefer one that has a bill that goes all the way around (no baseball caps) and waterproof in case of rain. Anyone point me in a good direction, thanks.
  15. Great news! I am so jealous as well, post those pictures if you start catching some really big bass!
  16. Did anyone see anything new or exciting? I saw a couple of deals that if I had more $$ I would have done. But, nothing new coming out for bass fishing.
  17. I went to day to the Expo, I liked it. I thought it was a much better lay out then last year and better facility. I didnt get to listen to any of the lectures. But, I looked at some new reels. That Curado E50 (6.4 to 1) is AWESOME! I was thinking about selling my year old Revo Premier (well, two year old, one fishing season on her) to get the new Curado, but doubt it.
  18. So, here is a story for you guys (and girls, if they are reading this). I earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech in 2003. My hopes and dreams for getting an engineering degree was to always get into racing as a career. I attended a couple of Indy 500s and knew I wanted to get into racing. Towards the end of September of this past year I sent me resume to a well known NASCAR team. Well, I lost my job Nov. 12th by getting laid off and started to look everywhere! Got a couple leads on jobs either in Chicago or Arlington, VA area, however I wanted to stay in Richmond VA (hometown), my mom and aunt (two closet family members I have left) are getting older. A friend (known for about 10 years) of mine that use to attend my church has his own company in Richmond and decided to bring me on board figuring he could use an engineer. Well, the day after I take a position at my friends company the same NASCAR team contacts me saying they are interviewing engineers for a position there. UGH!! An opportunity at my dream job! Still not sure what to do, my friends job is a great opportunity, and a sure fire place that I am going to do well at. Timing, timing timing!!!!
  19. Ok, who took the keys to my Ferrari!
  20. Don't forget the two free games from XBOX Live Arcade. Harm's way and Doritos crash course. Neither are bad, Doritos is a good party game to hand the controller to the next person and it uses your avatar.
  21. That's a hog! Great job!
  22. Personally, I think it is good that you are questioning yourself and likes about the future. You are starting to be "self-aware." Keep going with school, finish up and get the degree, that will be a great feather in your cap. I would say also, give yourself a reward after you finish school. Say, fishing trip somewhere exclusive, or some place you would never go before. Nothing wrong with not knowing what your passionate about. That is one step closer to finding something you are passoniate about.
  23. Hahah, I remeber those tests! Wait till you have Thermo, Differential equations, ME Design, and a couple more. I always wished I partied more at VT.
  24. Cant do Military, have a heart issue.
  25. I was interested in that rod Sam. Next time we go fishing, I want to give that thing a whirl.
