That is what I thought Sam, not sure. Thanks. I went to the James yesterday over behind James river high and the water was a little warmer then I thought it would be.

New angler feeling overwhelmed
Kevin, I think there is a thread in this forum for a Richmond, central VA meet and greet next Saturday. Look for that and see if you can make it. Also, I am probably a neighbor of yours, I am over behind Chesterfield Towne Center. So, I have fished those same waters, they are not easy to pull fish from! Get your casting and aim during casting down and then the river will be warm enough. Remeber, fishing is suppose to be fun, not a stresser, if you dont catch anything try to figure out why you did not. This time of year, I would try crankbaits and spinnerbaits.

Flipping/Punching setup
Thank you G! I was getting ready to ask the same question and now I get to read all about the resposnes! One question guys, is the higher speed ratio reels needed, or could I do it with a Curado 200E5?

Strike King KVD cranks
Does this mean that Lucky Craft will no longer produce the RC 1.5s? If so, I need to pick up a few more. Yeah, I thought 2nd and 3rd used the LC RC1.5s?

Wanting a new reel. Narrowed it down....
I have never used a Diawa, but like Shimano they have been around in the reel making buisness for a long time!!! I would say you can not go wrong with either and it will come down to personal preference.

Mixed message on bait quality
The pros need to be honest and the consumer needs to be smart to recognize a "sales," job!

health care costs
I just had to pay $127 for eardrops! Health insurance just like oil, just like politics is a scam. Everyone needs it, therefore they keep increasing the prices.

Rod for Shimano Curado 201E7
HAhah, funny you mentioned that. I caught my first bass of the new year today on my Crucial/Curado combo using a Rapala slashbait. She was about 4 lb. Shimano makes great rods, a lot of people do not pay attention or seem not to. Shimano tapers from the handle down with some magic ratio. A lot of companies have "stepped down," at the cork closet to the tip of the rod. Creates another "bend point," if you will. The creates less backbone for the hook sets and Shimano rods can have a faster tip for lure action. Just from what I have seen in the past.

Rod for Shimano Curado 201E7
I have an 200E5 sitting on a Crucial, great combo there!

Wanting a new reel. Narrowed it down....
Read reviews of each on bassproshops website and ***.com. In fact, I am not fimilar with it, but I think TW has a Demo program. The Shimano Curado looks a little weird and goofy, but it is engineered really well! (So are Abu's and Quantam) The Curado is butter. One thing I would suggest is where ever you got to look at these reels do not make judgement on the reels that are out for everyone to play with. Those could be damaged and very worn out, not the best specimens. Ask for ones in the boxes still to play with and get a feel for.

Wanting a new reel. Narrowed it down....
yeah, I did not want to be the first with the Shimano vs. Abu agument, but I have a 200E5 and 2009 Preimer. Curado by a mile. You have to experiement and get the cent. brake set, but once you do it is pure joy! The reel just feels so solid in my hand, have complete faith in that Shimano!

Which one feels better in your hands?

Product Pushing: Way Too Much
That is what gets me! Brand new lures that are not even on the market yet. So, how much of their catches are because of something new the bass have not seen before?

X-Rap
Yeah, the Yellow Perch color is incredible coming through the water! I have caught plenty fish on mine! Here is the link to the BPS website. My screename on there is Sach, look at the pictures I put up of what the fish did to my lure. http://www.basspro.com/Rapala-XRap-Shad-Shallow/product/10202084/-1536553

KVD winning: Good or bad?
Except KVD actually wins... Hahah, I was kind of curious to see if someone would make that comment. As a second thought, I would say no, it is not good because whatever KVD wins on will be flying off the shelf! So, instead of people actually learning about fishing, they will say KVD caught fish on this and won so I should at least catch something. It is the "Kool-Aid," effect people will just drink the KA and become lazy.

Halo Reach
I am terrible at REACH! I usually prefer the Objective game types so, K/D ratio is not as important as winning. Crazy kids and their energy drinks have the advantage in this game.
-
KVD winning: Good or bad?
Not sure, but he is like the Dale Earnhardt Jr. of BASS fishing. So, popular and so much pressure and he keeps on finding a way to catch fish.
