  1. Yeah, AJ knows about it. I am hooking up my Premier to it so, at least it should be superlight! I'll shoot you a text tomorrow if it comes.
  2. Yeah, I agree, not the best way to represent that line of rods.
  3. I ordered a Powell Endurance 7'-2" MH Xft tip (casting rod). I should get it tomorrow.
  4. Good luck! Sounds like a couple of good hauls though!
  5. Aj, I would try chewing on something when you are fishing. Say sunflower seeds. It would be a lot harder to cut the line with a mouth full of seeds. That way and probably make you pull out clippers.
  6. AJ, I'll be sure to punch you in the shoulder next time I see you bite the line off when we go fishing next. I'll shoot you a text today when the rod comes.
  7. The bass I am holding in my picture was caught on a Spook. One of the most impressive takes I have ever seen. LOVE ME SOME TOPWATER!!
  8. Well, the picture showed a full cork handle (wanted a split-grip) and on a readers review he mentioned how the reel seat was not exposed at the bottom. So, I ordered another brand of rod (I get it tomorrow!!) and checked Dobyns website for the price range I bought my rod at. There was a split-grip with the rod blank exposed on the bottom of the reel seat. Oh-well, I should have looked there first, but I am really excited about the rod I am getting. No regrets, I know a couple of people with Dobyns and they are nice rods.
  9. a green easter bunny! Nice catch!!
  10. Cool car! It looked like it has their 4wd or what AWD system.
  11. I would add, keep the lure moving kind of quickly ( except the buzzbt, reeling all the way back.) Don't get stuck in a pattern of pop, pop, stop. Be erratic and unpredictible with topwater lures.
  12. I would make sure you register your Crucial on Shimano's website to at least have an "electronic history," of the rod. I have two Crucials (one over 3 years and another over 2; no problems) and do not think the $17 is worth it. It is a profit maker for the seller, you are getting, say BPS involved in getting you a new rod if something happens that is the $17. If you think it is worth it, go for it!
  13. I probably would have gotten a Dobyns rod, but the *** description mis-lead me. Oh-well, they look and seem like great rods!
  14. I have done something similar to that. I did not get a weight on him, but he was HUGE! Four pound line fought him for an hour in the rain! I will never forget that fish. (I was fishing a very small pond behind a small Vermont hotel I stayed at)
  15. I agree! I have one XCalibur crankbait and it has done surprisngly (I can't spell!!) well! So, good point/reminder! Funny enough the XCalibur I have good success with is a blue back chart sides......hahah
  16. Wanted to see if anyone had an MR2 on BR. I am thinking about doing a 3SGTE swap into an MK1.
  17. AJ fishes that place a lot and does well.
  18. Weeds, yeah definitly let me know. It was raining pretty hard the day I used them, but I also used a lot of other crankbaits longer and no rust has shown up on them.
  19. Great fish! I am sure you guys will be talking about this trip for awhile! Awesome fish!
  20. We were fishing Aquia creek. I ended up using plastics the most and not one problem with hooks rusting or anything.
  21. Hooligan, yeah they work pretty well! I caught a good number of fish on my black back/chart. ones. Oh-well, I guess I will just take off the front treble and ring and be done with it.
  22. All these stories remind me why I fish. Thanks for the great comments so far!
  23. Hey Sam, I went out today fishing that little grub you gave me just to have some fun and catch some panfish. It did pretty well!
  24. Thanks for the information. That makes me wonder.......
