Giving Out Your Honey Holes
You'll find another great spot or two just like that creek if you keep looking. Variety makes it more fun anyway!

Giving Out Your Honey Holes
It's your decision as to if and with whom you want to share your "secret spots". Your friend was just being himself. It appears that you were not a very good judge of character. Lesson learned the hard way.

Heckuva Birthday Present
Awesome! Great acquisition. The wife usually looks the other way when it's around my b-day. The problem is what to do during the other 11 months of the year!

Just Browsing For A Spinning Rod.
We all fish to catch fish. That much is certain. However, with the exception of maybe a few magical days a year when everything seems almost too easy and we're catching them on almost every cast, most of the time we are spending our time: rowing/driving the boat, tying/switching lures, casting/retrieving, cutting/unsnagging our hooks etc all of which does not entail "catching a fish". So I have come to enjoy the process more than the results which is absolutely influenced by the gear I choose to use.

Finesse Casting Rod
good suggestion right here. a loomis 1 power rod, major craft are also options at that price point. you might be able to find a jackall poison adrena L/ML used or on sale for close to that price. dont forget that the line will be important to cast that weight consistently/effectively.

Finesse Casting Rod
agree with John G. had the GLX 893. i wouldn't call it a "finesse stick" if going by lure weight although finesse really refers to a style of fishing for me. tried a super tuned pixy with zpi cp301 and also a mb is with honeycomb with various weights when i had this stick. 1/8oz was definitely not something i would recommend on that rod. curious as to what "very well" means.

Megabass Destroyer Phase 3 7'11" Seven Eleven
I have several megabass sticks and the tapers are definitely different than a lot of other brands. I have handled but not fished with the phase 3 711 and although it can probably do the job as a flipping/pitching stick, I think that there are other megabass sticks in other lineups that are probably better for your purpose depending on the type of cover and weights you intend to use. The 711 seems to be a really versatile heavy stick that can do a lot of things well but for strictly flipping/pitching you may want to consider something with a more traditional fast tip like the super red demon in the black jungle series, the aaron martens flipping special in the xx series and if shorter rods are ok, the aaron martens in the x7 series along with the perfect pitch in the xx as well.
