  1. official MLB rules say if found to be throwing a spit ball, its an automatic suspension for 10 days, that would be HUGE... the video looks pretty convincing I'm so glad I'm not a yankee fan.
  2. if it were carrie underwood, I'd be all over the weekend, but taylor doesn't really do it for me either
  3. last year, my buddy had a bald eagle land about 10 feet above his head in the stand...you wanna talk about a cool experience, he wouldn't shut up about it for a while. I've seen coyotes ( just starting to encroach on this area), bobcats, various birds...had a pair of ducks buzz me (about 3 feet form my head) one really foggy morning. bassdeaton, hogs will roam as far north as the carolinas, they are more common down here than deer, and if you are hunting for meat, you'd do well to get one, talk about great food! I'm fairly confident i saw a hog that was pushing 600-700lbs one year, it was far away (maybe 1/2 mile) and looked like a black cow moving through the marsh, but there aren't any cows out there, so it's the only thing I could think of, and there are rumors of some being out there that big.
  4. this is the best news i've heard all year!!! d**n I'm psyched now!
  5. I like my Peavey Bandit 112, i would recommend finding one of those, no idea if they are still made, or what they run(I know they used to be in the $300-$400 range), but its a great little amp with a good sound
  6. primarily Hogs, but hog and deer hunting around here is basically the same, so if a good buck walks in front of me, it's going down... sometimes the small game stuff, squirrel and rabbits, also am planning on getting into turkey this year
  7. steezy, I've fished that set up in pad fields and grass, I didn't have much of a problem, atleast no more so than I would have with a medium, or medium heavy...when in the thick stuff, some fish are going to come off no matter what.
  8. Good point, I can just hear that ML rod go snap and/or loose the fish when it goes undercover. I fish weightless trick worms on a ML and have caught some monsters on it, caught some up to 7lbs, and had one over 10lbs till it came off in the grass, not much of a problem. it is a spinning set up, 7' all star with a 2500 sedona and 15lb power pro, I do not believe a ML is too light for bigger fish, just gotta know how to play them
  9. when I travel to the bahamas to visit family, I always spear fish over the shallow reefs a few times, using a hawaiian sling (spear guns are illegal there) it is a blast, but it can be tricky, shots are harder than they look, and the fish aren't as big as they seem,so you have ot have a good judgement on what to, and not ot shoot. but boy do I love it!!
  10. guys, I got to experience one of my dreams in life last night. I've been a Boston Red Sox fan my entire life, even though I'm from florida, I was raised to love them and feel as important a part of red sox nation as anyone else. until last night I had never seen them play in person (have seen a few other MLB games in my life) well, for my birthday (which was in august), my Father and I flew up and went to the game last night against the angels. WOW it was amazing, the feel of the crowd, the electricity, the area. we went down to the park around 3:30 and checked out the shops on lawkey way, then we ate and drank some beer at boston beer works. then it was time to go in. we watched the big boys for boston take some batting practice, then the angels got their turn. Before they started the game, they had a ceremony introducing a new foundation set up to help veterans with post traumatic stress disorder, and brain injuries from the wars in the middle east. they honored several vets who had outstanding stories, and I'll tell you, they had the largest ovation of anyone that night, without a doubt... it kinda choked me up, thinking about my friends and those in my generation out there fighting for us, but it was just an outstanding addition to the evening. (and i want to say thank you to all of you who serve us, we really can't say that enough!) the game was just how I imagined it, we had great seats, in the lodge boxes, only about 30 rows up behind the on deck circle, so we could see everything. got to see all of my favorite players and saw one homer rap around the pesky pole (Jacoby ellsbury) and saw one get driven over the green monster (Jason Bay). got to see Josh Beckett pitch and everyone play, man it was so cool. Unfortunately the sox lost, but its ok, they took two of the three out of the series. Enjoyed singing "Sweet caroline" in the eighth and could feel the energy of that crowd. drank some beer, rooted for the sox, man what a great time! we flew back today, and i already can't wait to do it agian, hopefully they'll win the next time we go, but I'll tell you, everyone in Boston that we talked to was friendly (for a country boy like me, I sorta worry about dealing with the troubles sometimes associated with bigger cities) and it was well worth the 6 hours of flying to go for that one magical experience!
  11. when I haven't had good fish in a while, we're consistantly catching good fish, and I feel like cleaning them... those three criteria together usually means not very often
  12. WOW Great song man. Goes along with my favorite songs to sing, and one of my favorite skynyrd songs "all I can do is write about it" love their sound, right up my alley
  13. did you turn your gain level down on the main amp settings,I'm not really familiar with line6, but that could be your problem if they all run off the same preamped settings. otherwise, it may be an issue with your switch. if you have the option, take out the foot switch, and switch the channels on the amp itself to see if it goes into the different modes then, again, its hard to say because I don't know the specifics of line6 operations
  14. Sir, you are a hero among heroes! great fish, and an even better story.
  15. I've been best man at two fo my best friends weddings, and boy was it tough.I get emotional tho, so I have trouble keeping the speech going, the first one I winged, but the second one I wrote it down and had it prepared, still wound up winging some of it, but atleast I had something to go on. try to say some funny, and good memories about both the groom, and bride, and remember it is their day, so ultimately, don't focus too mcuh on yourself with the speech. good luck, you'll need it
  16. I'm 26, as stated in the walmart thread, I currently work as a tire and lube technician at walmart, only been doing it for about 6 months, and the only real reason I am doing it is because there aren't any other jobs out there. before that, I ran an aluminum construction shop, manufacturing hurricane shutters and screened pool enclosures. I worked there for a little over 3 years and absolutely loved it, unfortunately with the economy and building industry, that company fell apart. I am hoping to be building communications trailers for the defense department in the near future. just waiting on my friend's company to finalize the contract for 600 trailers before I can be hired on.
  17. I bet we do! We've all been subjected to a Walmart. The dang things are everywhere. what I'm saying is try spending long periods of time at one and see where your opinion lies then... altho IDon't recommend it.
  18. guys, I work at walmart... YOU HAVE NO IDEA!!!
  19. exact same thing happened to me, and I was NOT happy. later, I saw him at the trucks, he was parked right next to me, I questioned him and he denied it, what a jerk.
  20. when I was 14 or 15 I was live bait fishing from a pier in the brackish waters of the indian river. we noticed a particular pelican that hanging around the dock and would NOT fly away no matter what, finally we threw something in the direction of it (not at it, the goal was to scare it, not hurt it) and it tried, only to fail miserably. seems a Chug bug was stuck between the sac under its beak and the wing.so three of us cast net it, held it down and removed the lure. (pelicans have very sharp beaks, easily capable of slicing your hand open) afterward we threw it back into the water, it immediately flew up, dd a circle over us as if to say thanks, and flew away. I'm fairly confident that helped in saving that birdslife as it looked like it was starting to go hungry... I still have the chug bug in my collectibles/ momentos collection
  21. It's also nearly 2 months to early for them to be in tht mode/mood. you are correct sir, that aspect of it didn't even cross my mind.
  22. cart7t, it was a toss up between the two, I also love that song, but had some slower songs on the list and wanted a driving song from molly hatchet. the dwight yokum one is good, coulda gone T-R-O-U-B-L-E by Travis tritt too, thats another good one, coulda gone brooks and dunn, or alan jackson and so on and so on, i was limited at 10, and went with those.
  23. pretty sure that's momma and her yearling, he doesn't look mature enough to be courting her... very cool whatever the case. and that doe does need some meat on her, hope she doesn't have CWD
  24. mr lite, Man up man! that thing aint gonna harm a big ole' harry chested dude like you, we all know you're a wolverine anyway! seriously tho,I wouldn't worry so much about it.if you need to, come on down my way, I know there aren't any of those around my areas, seen a few gators from the creek outlets but that doesn't bother me much in the salt either, they seem more confused when they get out there and usually go back fairly quickly.
  25. you're right, now I feel like a dumb bass. I knew that, just a few too many budweisers before Iposted that last night... :-? and now it's fixed
