Last double digit bass?
march '08. <--- that big girl right there on a smoke shad tiki stick lost one in the grass last week that woulda been my second, on a merthiolate trick worm.

caught a new PB!!!!
I had a FWC biologist tell me it took an 8 lb fish to make 23"...atleast florida strain. I've been slaying big bass on mertiolate (bright flouresant orange) trick worms fished top water, for the last few weeks. one day caught a 7, missed a 10+ and got a few 5's...all within about an hour of each other... don't doubt the floating worm technique, it gets the big girls out.

Wish I was this accurate
typically, if the fishing os slow, I'll aim at bird, either resting in the water/on pads, or flying, i occasionally hit them, more often when stationalry, but i've gotten a few in the air too. i figure it helps with my accuracy. when the fishing is slow, gotta still work on my game somehow!

Your opion on the swim senko
X2! I much prefer the skinny dipper, seem to hold up better, and they actually have a better action I believe. they are my new go to bait.

Dick's rod warranty for a St. Croix rod?
I've had, and used their, this extended warranty through dick's several times. it is just that simple, call them, give them your info, the reciept number and so on and they send you a gift card for dicks, doesn't even require you to use it on the same thing, just basically reimberses your money in the form of a gift card. can't go wrong with that.

COPENHAGEN SOAK
I've heard of this for many years, guys who dip, spittin' into their bags of plastics.maybe its the salty flavor? I dunno, but it works for them.

It's getting ugly.
yea, one more reason I'm glad I live in the south...if we have a nuisance animal, we take care of it! we like our second ammendment down here

Can my Geenoe + Trolling Motor go on Stickmarsh/Farm 13??
pretty sure there's gators bigger than that thing out there... do you want to be close to them in it? I would stick to a bigger boat if you're gonna venture far from the ramp, there are some areas closer to the ramp you might be comfortable, but I wouldn't garauntee the numbers or size the stick marsh is famous for.

It's getting ugly.
tom, there is an easy answer to the otter problem... .22magnum, take it with you in the canoe, do some fishing and some plinking all at the same time!

Can you identify this grass?
Definitely not hydrilla. I was thinking milfoil, but chara seems to be the likeliest answer. true, def not hydrilla.. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_aP2GN0yCuO8/SXCp1lFMEyI/AAAAAAAABzw/OJdDzcqP5S8/s400/hydrilla01.jpg you're right, I stand corrected, and I sohuld know hydrilla because we have a ton of it down here on the lakes I fish, but I think we also have some of that stuff, and it gets mixed in and I get it confused. eh, oh well...I just call it all grass and don't worry about it
-
Can you identify this grass?
umm, its hard to tell by the pic, but it maybe hydrilla...it may not be, I usually jsut see it matted up, but it sorta looks like it could be.

Giant bass
I hope I never catch the world record large mouth bass, I'm fairly sure I could have president O and the good lord himself as witnesses, weighing it live on national TV and there would still be nay sayers.... doesn't everyone have anything better to debate than the world record debate that's been beaten worse than a dead horse?

What do you all think of this lure?
I have had my butt handed to me several times by my fishing partner throwing one of these, and I didn't have one.... I wound up getting my own. there are times when this bait is just dominant

Frog fishing with a spinning rod?
no doubt I use a baitcaster for my spros, and I have thrown buzz frogs on baitcasters without a problem, i just seem to have a much better distance with my spinning setups than my BC's, plus it frees up a BC for another use.

Frog fishing with a spinning rod?
I fsih my buzz style frogs on a 7' medium rod, shimano stradic and 20lb power pro, never seem to have problems with this setup, and it throws a mile.

A Stud or Numbers?
I remember the days when I caught my biggest fish, what the weather was like, what baits I was using, where I was... I also remember the days when I caught a ton of fish, same things,so in my mind, either one is great, either catching numbers, or catching one big girl. as long as I'm catching something

Outer Banks Rods
from what I can gather, its the boaters world house brand, I was looking into them myself because there was a real sweet 7' I saw at the one that's going out of business in my town, so I did some research, but couldn't find much, I went back to get it anyway, going by the feel of the rod, and the one I was looking at was gone, oh well. they probably aren't nearly in the range of st croix, gloomis, all star,or others, but give it a shot, and if you like it, fish with it...you never know.

Mauch Chunk *pics of two mooks*
I'm probably pushin 350, my cousin is a solid 280,throw in two anchors, my tackle bag and various other gear (a green okeechobee fats back slap-full), in a 12 ft jon boat...its a scary proposition...now lets talk about the gators that live in the water we fish... I know how it goes. we don't do a trolling motor tho, paddles only. two hoss power ;D brooklyn dodgers huh, here I thought it was a blue red sox hat...never mind :
-
Rapala Xrap's
xr8 in a ghost color, had several days of 50+ fish on them

Mauch Chunk *pics of two mooks*
two big guys, one small boat. sounds like the way I fish too. even has the right hat on

tungsten bullet weights
Black nail polish works really well too.

What is your favorite "Bite"
mine would have to be the top water bite as well, nothing like a monster bass crushing my spook (caught a nice 6-7lber today on one as a matter of fact) but I also love the hits on any fast moving bait, like a swim senko or skinny dipper where they darn near rip the rod out of your hand. of course I also love a good solid hookset on a worm. ok, I guess I love them all.

Selection at Wally World
walmart sucks majorly, trust me I know, I work there.

My Secret Spot. Wooo
I'll be there tomorrow...no, literally, I'll be in Orlando tomorrow...that looks a bit like Bull Creek's Billy lake, but I've never known it to be loooaaaddded with bass, just gators

best casting line for a baitcaster?
I use almost exclusively power pro, mostly 30lb, but I have rods with 15 all the way to 50lb test. if you're having an issue backlashing, its probably not the line, and I think you might continue to have the issue no matter what you use. I've gone to flouro on my flipping rod (20lb) because I feel like the flouro slides through the weeds better, and is easier to handle when flipping... right now its vanish, but that will change after friday when I get some BPS flouro, I've broken off vanish a few times and I don't like it.
